Need to play this but from what I have seen looks good.

Prior to buying this game, I read reviews about it from websites such as pspfanboy and it presented both pros and cons to this game. Seeing that most people enjoyed it after playing it, I decided to buy this. I was not disappointed. This game was not some remake from some other system like psx or whatnot, it has the stuff needed to satisfy any gamer who likes the turn based battle rpgs. The storyline is comprehensive, and compared to many other rpgs, the graphics on here are awesome. I am still playing this game, and no, I’m not just some guy that just got this and played for like 30min and decided to write a review. I’m currently around lvl 60 or so, and I still enjoy the unique storyline, and the overall game.

    Good game

The Good: Graphics are easy on the eyes, battles are quick and deep, Unity and Bravura attacks mix up the typical standards, story steers away from standard JRPGs, mini-games add a nice touchThe Bad: Graphics could have been better, yak yak text reading, constant random battles are extremely frustrating, not being able to escape most of the time adds to that frustrationAfter the poor results of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, Brave Story comes around with a big thumbs up. Brave Story keeps the JRPG formula intact here…almost a bit too much. The story is simple yet intriguing: A boy’s friend falls violently ill and wishes her to be cured. His wish can come true when he travels to the world of Vision and collect five gem stones. It steers away from the typical “girly looking Japanese boy saves the world with other girly people”. What’s the real meat here is the battle system. With two new way of fighting by using Unity attacks and Bravura you can increase your attacks strength, heal members, or join with other members to create a large attack, or increase defense etc. The battles are quick and fast paced, which is good, and they are very addictive. There are a few mini games such as bird catching, and you can create accessories by collecting items in battles and using them from diagrams you collect. Now while this is good and all the actual game is pretty short for RPG standards…you can beat it in about 15-20 hours. Also, while the graphics are really nice looking they.

Fantastic game! It’s a great standard JRPG for those who just love some happy-go-lucky fun. The pacing is pretty good, and it makes you want to play the game all the way through without stopping! It’s not too difficult to understand the combat or item system like some JRPG’s, which makes it a fantastic starter to the genre for someone who’s not used to it.The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I wish it was a bit longer. It’s short for a JRPG, but still long compared to most games in America. Well worth the money and the time to play it!

    Very cool.

About time. Here we finally have an original RPG for psp that is worth playing. In almost every aspect, Brave Story surpasses every previous RPG for psp by taking the flaws that every psp owner has come hate and correcting them. Load times, graphics, playablility, story and overall fun… this is a refreshing title for the sytem. Now dont get too excited for it isnt perfect and if this was another ps2 rpg, i probly wouldnt think too much of it for its nothing new and unique but the plain fact is that this is a turning point for crappy rpgs on the psp.If you took 3 or so previous rpgs (lets say Blade Dancer, Kingdom of Paradise and legend of heroes or something similar) you would have an amazing rpg for the psp but alone, these games arent too amazing (not to say these games arent good). The problem with rpgs for the psp is that while they may have great qualities, they come short of being a great game for they lack other qualitites necesary to be an amazing title. One game may have good graphics but no story while another may have voice overs and an OK story but graphics suck and load times are LONG. Brave story just about has it all.Graphics are great. The characters are detailed, environments are colorful and alive and everything is smooth with 3D graphics, no pixelation and almost NO LOAD TIMES (you heard me. the load times are nearly instant)Music is pretty good. Its not final fantasy but every area has new music to fit the mood along with battle themes and character them.

This game is part of a media blitz that took over Japan some time ago, starting with a book and following with a manga series (sold here on retrolio), an anime movie and more cool stuff. The game’s story starts with a boy being given a chance to save his sick friend from an unknown disease by journeying to the fantasy world of Vision and proving his bravery to that world’s goddess. To prove his worth he must get five gems. Every time he gets one his sword will become stronger and the day he gets the ultimate sword’s form he will be granted one wish, whatever it is.The world is well built, the characters are likeable and, most important, the gameplay is fun. The graphics look great with beatiful scenery and cool monster designs. The sound and music is not the strong point of the game but still they are pleasant enough to hear through long game sessions. After starting playing I couldn’t drop the game for some days until I reached it’s end, but fortunately there are still some side quests to pursue. If you have a PSP and do yourself a favor and add this game to your PSP library. It is one of that must have titles you can’t afford to pass.

I love this game. While the character development is lacking, and some voice acting would be nice, I have to say the game play is a lot of fun. Normally, turn-based RPGs tend to annoy me after some time… but not Brave Story.Character design is great for a handheld game. Yuno is so cute! The storyline is more based on the movie than the book, but it’s still a loveable storyline. All in all, it’s a great RPG and I recommend it to everyone! (And the book!)

Received the game in great condition and packaging, its an awesome Japanese RPG game. A great addition to RPG fans out there.
