I’ve been a gamer since I was in diapers… And I’ll still be a gamer when I’m old and back in diapers. I love all styles of gaming and all systems (including PC, all handhelds, and consoles). In comparison to other JRPGs, this one holds a special place. There are TONS of turn-based RPGs, but this one is superb. The story line is nothing new, but it does have it’s own twists and turns. The game provides an excellent tutorial for everything (including every job that you unlock, as you progress)! You will be provided with detailed videos, chances to practice, and detailed text. Even though the battle system is complex, it is easily manageable. The various classes (jobs) and abilities (including your own custom special move, that YOU create) are excellent! I really enjoy having the freedom to mix and match. There aren’t many weapons and abilities at the beginning, but that gets better as you progress. You’ll gain the ability to augment powers into your weapons, create your own special move, and so on.With all of that, this game is excellent! The gameplay, alone, is worth the buy. However, it gets better! The streetpass feature is used very well! If you pass another player, you’ll send/receive each others chosen characters (The game gives you an AI friend and you can receive characters through the internet, once per day). You can call on these characters during a battle (only once for one attack). Each player may choose the job and move they wish to use for their streetpass usage.

I don’t want to gush, but this game is probably one of the best RPGs of all time. It’s surprisingly deep, looks amazing, has amazing game play, and some of the best music of any game I have ever played.

I really love this rbg game it reminds me so much with the old nintendo final fantasy game .. its alittle bit hard at the end though i still couldnt finish it and i find the repetition of events that happens at the middle of the game so boring. As for the packaging it was packaged perfectly secure and came fast ♡

Bravely Default is a game with a weird name, but an extremely familiar taste. Like an old, familiar shirt that you used to love back in the day, but put away because you wore it so much that the seams began coming loose and you didn’t want to tear it into tatters. Bravely Default is a new name for a game series that literally everyone knew about, and almost as many loved… Final Fantasy. Intended to be a sequel to the Nintendo DS game, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Bravely Default evokes a very familiar imagery with its usage of Firaga and Holy to the plot elements of the world’s balance revolving around four magical crystals.Bravely Default is a turn based Japanese RPG. I say this first because, while there are those who greatly enjoy this style of game, there are also a lot of people similarly turned off by such a thing, preferring a more action-packed or organic experience. Those who aren’t dissuaded by the game being a turn based RPG should definitely read on, though, because this game has easily one of the most different combat systems when approaching a traditional turn based RPG in years. The game’s name, Bravely Default, was actually derived from the nomenclature used in the game’s combat system: Default allows a character to guard and reduce received damage, passing their turn without doing an action to stock up an additional BP for their next turn. Brave, on the other hand, lets you use BP to perform attacks, heal spells and various other actions. What is mo.

A truly fantastic game. All the charm of an old school JRPG, with all the amenities of a new school one. I loved the voice acting, and as someone who actually enjoys grinding, I REALLY appreciated the battle speed adjustment feature. Double fast forward at all times ;) Grinding isn’t necessary, but it’s still rewarding for those that enjoy it. It’s always tough to strike that balance, but they nailed it.The story is fantastic, and while some of it was expected, parts of it were not. I mean, it is made by Squeenix, after all. This game is worth buying for any fan of old school style JRPGs. More games like this one, please!

If you’re a fan of old-school Final Fantasy games, you’ll feel right at home when you start this game. The music is audio-perfection, the dialogue is hilarious, the gameplay is shallow enough for newcomers and deep enough for veterans.***Minor Spoiler Below***The one thing I disliked about the game is something you’ll come across in many other reviews: The last half. There comes a point when you are given the task of completing the beginning dungeons again. And again. And again. And again (no joke).Protip: Don’t be afraid to turn random encounters off while you complete the second half. If you spend the time grinding where you want, you’ll be fine for end-game content.Verdict: I’d play it again. Aside from minor grievances with the latter half of the game, this is an RPG to remember.

This game has everything a RPG lover wants in a game:Pros:Excelllent music.Good graphics.Great battle system, even if it’s the classic turn based, the battle system is great.Deep plot.Competitive replayability. You will play this for days.Japan RPG import.Nintendo network.Cons:- You have to put the game in sleep mode to earn special coins that lets you use special powers in game, which is acceptable considering the advantage they give in battles.- Time consuming, requires dedication and grinding. Can get addictive.- Typical character faces made by Square Enix, they can look like "chibi" sometimes. Resembles Final Fantasy Tactics characters. An overall outstanding game that any RPG lover must have.I wouldn’t be surprised if this is made game of the year.

This game is gorgeous. It never stops being amazing how pretty everything is. This game uses the 3d effects the best of any #ds game I have played yet.The jobs and special moves and customizable attacks are fun as hell to swap out. I love that you can summon your friends. I love that you can link up with them and use their skills. A++++The story is awful. It’s terribly cliche and occasionally insulting (see the second town with the water temple…. I mean really guys? Seriously? It’s 2014 and this is what you could come up with?). It’s disappointing and lame and so so so so so boring. It’s also almost entirely irrelevant and in no way hampers the amount of fun I am having. I *love* this game. I actually like the characters quite a bit, both the main and the side, and I think they are adorable, but the writing (and the voice acting….) is really bad. It’s very long. Be warned. Very. Be prepared to spend 100+ hours, not counting the amount of time you keep it in sleep mode. It gets a little repetitive after…. 60-ish hours, so don’t expect to beat it in a week, or even a month. It works best when you play it a while and then take a break of a week and come back.

If you are looking for a great RPG and loved the old turn based Final Fantasy games than you should pick this up. The game has a great story that fallows a group of teens that are trying to save the elemental crystals of the world. The Job system is really great. The game doesn’t do the usual class system like other games, Instead you have different job that you get as you go through the game. each job can be leveled up with any character you like. So if you don’t like that job with that character you can change the job anytime. Each character has different base stats but the jobs can decreases or increase these stats and give them different abilities. This is great as different players can play the game differently with what jobs that chose to give the characters. The job system is one reason I really enjoyed the game. The difficulty of the game isn’t that bad and the encounter rates of enemies spawning can be change. So if you looking to to grind some EX you can change the encounter rate to +100% or you may just want to get to the next town without battling anything so you can put it at -100%. The encounter rate can be change from 100%, +50%, +-0%, -50%, or -100% which is really nice. The battles are really fun as you have an ability called brave where you can defend and wait a turn up to 4 if I recall correctly and than do 4 attacks in one turn. This lets you pull of nice combos and get some nice damage out. You can even attack up to 4 time in one turn with use using brave bu.

I’m in love with this game. Unexpected gem I found here.It is a Japanese RPG, expect a typical save the world story with all the cliches that japanese stories normally have. The art is from Akihiko Yoshida and will feel and look like Final Fantasy Tactics with some world structure that will remind you of Final Fantasy 9. It has a Job system similar to Tactics but the fights are much more like turned based random combats. It has all the nostalgia elements in a very well crafter universe. If you enjoyed the PSX era with all the oriental RPGs, you will fall in love with this game.
