The game is awesome. Love the cut scenes and the voice acting involved. The action sequences are good too. And the story is top notch

One of the better rpg games I’ve played. Much better than the original, Bravely Default.Nice story and I liked the characters.I loved the chain battle option. Allows for easy grinding. So many options to customize the game.I completed the game and played the game+ mode to the end immediately. You should play Bravely Default first but not a must. I’m glad I played Bravely Default first. It is a nice game too. You get some background on this game.If you enjoy the Final Fantasy games, this is for you. If you didn’t care for Bravely Default, forget it. This is a much improved game in every way.

Bought this game expecting a lower-quality Bravely Default but it hasn’t let me down so far. Great game.

  4. Jose l Ramos

    Great

  5. Kent

A lot less serious also not as slow than the first and a lot more enjoyable.

  6. Zach Smith

One of the greatest J-RPGs I have played in a very long time. Good story, solid combat, witty dialogue, and some humorous puns.

This game delivers well on being a classic style JRPG with modern conveniences, interesting mechanics, and plenty of depth in class and skill variety. The story, however, falls short, and a replay, to me, would feel monotonous.

Bravely second is a good game that is very much a direct continuation of the first game. In some respects, that is good as the first game was a solid game, but in others it does hinder Bravely Second.Story 3/5Bravely Second’s story is probably it’s weakest element for multiple reasons. Primarily, it is hindered by numerous references to the first game. I saw some answers/reviews that said you do not need to play the first game to enjoy the second. I would greatly disagree. I played the first game and I found things to be overly confusing at times. Next, the game seems to have 3 seperate stories going on at once. Each is very simple, but woven together in a way that they almost don’t have to link to each other. It makes it feel like there is no one overall plot and there are obvious times that should be climactic points but aren’t because the story telling is focusing on one of the other 3 arcs. The 3 arcs the game follows are1. Edea rebeating all of the bosses from the first game to see how they have changed and receive optional job classes. 2. Yew trying to stop Kaiser Oblivion and save Agnes. and 3. Magnolia’s story on defeating the Ba’als. There are a few elements that hint at an even greater mythology that are probably building towards a 3rd game. About 1/2 of the areas you visit are exact repeats from the first game, so some parts of the game felt very flat and unoriginal.Game play 4/5Mechanics wise, Bravely Second is solid. It took everything from the first ga.

So I am about halfway through the game, but have decided to give a preliminary/initial review for those who may be wondering if it is worth getting this game. I will try to avoid spoilers, but I’ll bring up tropes and common things I see from other JRPGs, which I guess could be spoilery to some? i will not spoil any actual story/plot from this game though. So, first things first, do you need to have played the first game to play this one? Some say yes, some say it doesn’t really matter. I’d say yes. You do get a little re-cap of the first game with a slideshow of sketches from the first game’s major plot points, voiced over by some mysterious female voice, but once you start playing the game, you might feel left out.For those who have played this and are wondering whether or not to get it, say you aren’t big on sequel games, well, if you only sort of liked the first game, then this may not be for you. It pretty much plays the same as the first game. They change things up a little, you have more options when it comes to fighting battles, but so far out of laziness, I have been pretty much been playing this the same way I did the first game. While this is a sequel, I would describe it more like a Bravely Default 1.5. You are still in the same world, you re-visit all the same towns and worldly places from the first game. While optional, you can get all of the same asterisks from the first game, which I think is a big plus, and I’ll get into why later. You revisit the same dungeon.

its a pretty solid game, though it starts off slow, and stays slow for a while it does finally come around and pick up pace lving and gaining jobs and skills.
