This game is pretty good if you just want to kill time, but some things are just not that good. Okay for starters its only like 4 hours long (thats if you play on normal.). Second is insted of being First person shooting your Third person, and you can’t control your view and what I mean by this is you cant make your character look at what your trying to see. Thrid is theres more climbing then hunting! I think I sepent 3 hours and 30 minunts in climbing alone. HOWEVER! This game does have a Great story line! It incorporates certian things from Dangerous hunts 2011 in to it (and if you’ve ever played DH 2011 you’ll know what I mean when you play this!). And it has by far the BEST mountian sceens that I have ever seen on a Cabela game! Alot of them are really amazing! You also get to fly a plane and drive a dog sled team. So all in all if you want to kill time and just have fun then get this game, but if you want something with a little more depth to it and that is still a Cabela game, Then play ” Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2″ for the PS2.Enjoy your Hunt!!

cabela’s survival shadows of katmai is fun if you want to burn time but there’s too much climbing. really deamons like the bear thing that has way sharper than any bears teeth. it’s like dangerous hunts 2011 with the kaftar. i like moose hunting and shooting all the wolves except one and i start dodging it. i got this game by an accident i don’t want to talk about and i was going to return it but i tried it and i liked the game.

My son received this for his 7th birthday. It’s rated T for Teen but he had begged for it for months so we gave in and sat with him each time he played it. It’s not too violent (no worse than hunting) and he loved it. We have the Top Shot Elite gun and he used it the entire time and played the game a couple hours each day and had the entire game beat in a few days on normal difficulty. He’s restarting on difficult mode and excited to try again on a harder setting. I wish it was a longer game but he really enjoyed it. The last chapter, we had to brighten our tv settings quite a bit for him to be able to see in the mine.
