Possible one of the best nes games casltevania. It mixes action with horror cliches and works. This is one of my favorite nes games and is just awesome. The only bad thing is like most good nes games is that it is pretty hard. Its not the hardest game I have beat but it still is hard. If you have a nes or a fc twin or retro duo I highly recommend you check out this game and the other two nes castlevaina games.

I have many fond memories while playing the NES Castlevania. My brother received this game for hisbirthday bought at the old Fedco store in Orange County, CA. Let me tell you, this game is one hard sonof a gun. But you will always want to come back and play it. It has that certain dark, feel to it. The graphics werepretty good for the NES back in those days. The controls it seems, people complain a lot about. It takes a whileto master the delicate jumping parts in the game. The music is very catchy and adds to the spooky atmosphereof the entire game. retrolio stated that there are 2 playable characters in Castlevania. That is totally false!!!retrolio should delete that false statement immediately. There’s only Simon Belmondo, the Vampire hunter. What was retrolio thinking? This is not Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Recently, I downloaded Castlevania on theWII VC, and I’m happy I did. This game is a timeless classic that should be in every retro gamers collection.

I bought this game for my boyfriend on our first xmas together to include a Nintendo console and he flipped out. He completely loved it. The shop was not lying about the product. It was in such amazing condition that I was very surprised. The game also came with the original game instructions as well. Really satisfied with my purchase and will definitely purchase another item from this shop.

This game impacted the gaming world in a way you’d never know. This video game started it all! This is the first of the series where you are Simon Belmont, and you are on your journey to slay Dracula. This game is creepy, this game, or should I say the whole Castlevania series has some of the best music ever compiled for a video game in history! That is saying alot seeing how games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy and D-Force all had great music. This game has average graphics(what can you say for a NES game?). The gameplay is great, you will be having fun for a long time, and get the rest of the series as well, it’s worth it guaranteed…

I bought this from the same user that sold me Metroid and this one works fine. 1 out of 2. I just wish Metroid works like Castlevania did.

If you want to play a game about making your way through a haunted castle (or some place equally spooky) fighting ghosts, zombies, vampires, and other monsters, you have a lot of options these days. But back in the day, if you wanted that this was the game to play – and it was so well done it launched a franchise. The graphics aren’t bad (for an 8-bit game) but they’re rather more colorful than one would expect for a game that’s trying to invoke a gothic-horror feel. The music is quite good, however – and so catchy that most of the tracks were remixed in countless other Castlevania games. The game play is simple yet challenging, though the game is relatively short if you don’t count the hours spent replaying levels trying to beat them. Over-all I’d say it isn’t the best of the Castlevania games, but it’s still pretty well done.
