Wow. I am actually very pleasantly surprised; I was expecting Cocoto Magic Circus to be absolutely terrible, considering it’s published by Conspiracy (who also published some of the worst and most shameless Wii titles ever). I never would’ve imagined that this game would actually be pretty good! Thank goodness I was wrong, though, because I think it has deserved a spot on my shelf, as unexpected as it may be.Cocoto Magic Circus is a arcade-style shooting gallery-ish game where you aim and shoot with the Wii Remote, partaking in a variety of quick shooting minigames that only lasted a couple dozen seconds each. While the opening cutscene was rather…meh, I think everything else checks out nicely. The shooting gallery play is actually very well done, as stage after stage contains different takes on what you’re tasked to deal with, whether you shoot a bunch of panels, avoiding panels of friends, shooting at enough enemies, or protecting the Fairy from enemies creeping up to her. I was always interested in wondering what would come next, and usually got a kick out of completing a mission thanks to the sound effects on the "Mission Clear" screen. The only problems I have with the game are that the missions may come off as repetitive, so it’d be great if it had at least some more different kinds of stages to spruce up the variety further. Also, since this is an arcade-style game, this will mean that you will totally be able to blaze through this game in under an hour or two.
