tight controls, fluid combat, graphics amazing in both 2D and 3D, and DLC costumes and Wi-Fi gameplay all in a nice little game. the singleplayer story is horribly stuck together and a lot of the cutscenes are unfinished (just character models standing around as a voiceover explains whats going on) though the cutscenes that were either taken from the other games in the series or actually completed look AMAZING! there’s a lot of beautiful things to see in this game (specifically Tina’s victory motion in her 2nd custom in *ahem* 3D is very…hot. honestly they could have sold me just that at this price and I would have bought it.) the physics in this game are amazing, hair and clothing physics are so-so but breast physics are just great to look at…what was I saying again? oh yeah, so anyways this is a great game. the fighting mechanics of DOA3 paired with the character roster of DOA4 combined with Wi-Fi battles just makes this whole game worth the current $25 price!

um dos melhores jogos de luta do 3ds, antes só tinha mario kart para jogar online e agora dead or alive veio para aumentar a galeria de bom jogos do 3ds

The DOA series has not aged nicely over the past 6 years, but then again neither has 3D fighting games as a genre. They’ve taken a backseat to the second coming of 2D fighting games. Plain and simple, alot of 3D fighting games have gotten dull. Which is why I was so refreshed by Dead Or Alive Dimensions for 3DS. It reminds me of what makes 3D fighting games great. Easy to pick up, great to look at and fun to play. This game is not a throwaway or cheap port either. It has fantastic graphics, super smooth gameplay, accurate controls, well done 3D effect and great music. There are tremendous amounts of gameplay modes, everything you’d expect in a modern day console release is here including live gameplay. They also are constantly updating the game with new free DLC costumes for the characters. The game has tons of unlockables. It can be made very easy or very hard. Customize it to your liking. They even add in the gyro sensor during the title screen so you can move around the backgrounds. Its not a big deal but it shows how much they put into this game. The gameplay is the usual DOA which means its Virtua Fighter meets Tekken. It can be a button masher if you want, but you need to learn the button combinations if you want to be really good. To me a good fighting game is a game that will keep you coming back for more, bite sized pieces of fun here and there. I always find myself constantly coming back to this game. Not only is it a terrific game but it makes gr.

Don’t let the fact that this is a portable persuade you from trying it. DOA is recreated in 3D and it makes a fantastic difference. You will notice a little loss in detail from the console versions but it’s still great on the eyes. It’s just amazing what they can do with portables now. A must have in the collection if your into the series. And as far as I know, the only version of Dead or Alive that is made in 3D.

  6. Pmacho

Amazing fighting game. It’s very smooth controls easy to grasp and still challenging to master. Amazing graphics even without the 3D feature on but unmatchable experience with it on.Graphics:10/10Sound: 10/10Story: 9/10Replay: 10/10Definitely a must have for Nintendo 3DS owners.

Bought game for just under $18 from ‘buybacksmansfield’ & it arrived in under 4 daysI expected only the cartridge, but the game arrived in original case, with original artwork/instruction manual. The cartridge is in Prefect condition, it plays flawlessly & it looks like brand new.I definetely do not regret making this order & would reccomend to others, & I will probably buy from these shops (buybacksmansfield) again.Had very bad experience buying from ‘Rock 30 Games’ (Will Never buy from them again), so it is just so refreshing to have such a hastle free experience threw ‘buybacksmansfield’

I was contemplating on what my next game would be after Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, or this game. While the only Street Fighter game I ever got into was Street Fighter IV Volt on my iPod Touch and the only DOA game I own was DOA Hardcore on the PS2 and Paradise (which sucked) on the PSP. While both series were awesome, the DOA games had a better appeal to me. You can perform longer moves for one instead of just single hit moves. Two, the characters are more awesome. The females especially, and Elliott ;)The fighting is actually fun and doesn’t get repetitive like Street Fighter does. The stages are gorgeous, especially in 3D, but in some cases, areas look better in 2D mode too. Online is great as well. I only played it twice, but I managed to kick some butt twice ;) it lags a little every now and then and it might be because I use the the unlimited 3G data on my rooted Droid Incredible, which did a fair job of online play. Another fun fact is there’s updates for new costumes :) Plus, it has all the fighters from three DOA series. There’s a Chronicle mode where it compacts DOA 1-4 into one. It can be funny at times by the way its put together. And you’ll almost always see slapping (especially when Ayane gets it XD). One thing I didn’t like in the cutscenes was when they all just stay still, even when talking and they just make sudden scene shifts to make them move. Other than that, you got a real solid fighting game in your pocket. Its almost perfec.

If you’re fresh to the series, this is a must. If not and you’ve got DOA 5 already, you won’t be missing out with this wonderful tribute peace to a racy but excellent fighting game series.

In terms of the story, DOAD is between DOA4 and DOA5. Character design is still based on DOA4. Strongly hope that Team Ninja will make a DOA for 3DS based on DOA5 character design. As for the game itself, DOAD continues with the classic rock-paper-scissors system of all previous DOA versions. It is a whole lot easier to learn and play DOA than let’s say Street Fighter because at least we don’t need to learn how to do the dragon punch and/or charged moves. Most importantly, to fully enjoy SFIV, it is better to play with a joystick on a game console/PC. The joypad on 3DS just isn’t as much fun as the joystick. That’s why I consider DOAD is better than SFIV3D.If you are new to DOA series, DOAD has a chronicle mode that basically teaches you everything you need to know about playing DOAD, such as the stories of previous 4 versions of DOA and the basic fighting mechanisms that you need to know. The best part I like about DOAD is that the chronicle mode has several high-detailed, 3D videos that fully utilized 3DS upper screen’s resolution, so it is very enjoyable to watch those videos in 3D.I got this game late, so I missed all the DLC and most of the throwdowns. After I finished all the arcade, survival, tag challenges, etc., the internet play has become the major part of this game. The good thing is that there are still a lot of people playing DOAD online, so it is very easy to find opponents around the world or in the same region. This allows me to play DOAD regularly even nowada.
