Because I am a die hard Nina Williams fan, I am addicted to this game! I owned this since 2006 and play it till now. My disc broke a few years back and just had to get it again thanks to retrolio! It only shipped within 4 days vs 14+ like it said (I live in Hawaii). For those who are going to play it for the first time, just be aware of the bad camera angles and you use the left analog stick to move around the and the right stick to fight. This game is compared to Metal Gear Solid. Enjoy! …

Take a blend of elements from Onimusha puzzles, Metal Gear gameplay, Resident Evil fixed camera perspectives to an innovative fighting system and you’ve got DBD. What’s best about this game is that it’s a solid action title, but what more would you expect from the likes of NAMCO. This game details how exactly Nina Williams and her sister Anna come to the Tekken tournament in Tekken 1. It also gives some background info on the characters through lavish flashbacks. So if you’re a fan of Tekken in general or just want a good action title then this might keep you occupied for a while.

I own this game and i’m playing it even after 2 years after I bought it! this game is unique and could be good or bad, but if you have a mind open enough you will like the fantastic fight parts, the incredible number of fight moves, weapon, minigames, and all the amazing stuff you will unlock after completing the game once! Belive me the only flow (except some loading screen too many) of this game is that is very very hard too unlock all the bonuses and some challenges are pretty impossible but better too hard than too easy!

This Tekken inspired spin-off of Nina Williams is smartly crafted with a combination of action hand2hand combat, special ops missions, & several Tenchu like bone breaking critical moves.Aside from the VERY annoying 180-degree camera shifting you get sometimes when stepping in between camera angles (you’re pointing forward and suddenly you’re shifting back to the previous angle), the seemingly forever loading time this game can take (it’s graphics aren’t that sharp), & the less than interesting game plot. Simply put, Namco is on to something but still few enhancements are needed and with minimal improvements this game can be MUCH MUCH more. That said, overall this game has a unique personality very well worthy to experience.

It is very high time that somebody came out and declared that this game is not nearly as bad as the gaming media has been saying it is. Why the reviews have been so nasty, who’s to say. All I know is, I’ve been playing this game for quite some time and I have been very impressed. This game was developed by Namco, a Japanese developer, and I think the reason so many people are reacting against it is that it doesn’t follow the typical Japanese fighter game style. For one, the graphics are phenomenal. This game is one of the most gorgeous PS 2 games I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t have the “Konami look”–you know, the washed out, watered down graphics that so many Japanese adventure/fighter games have. The graphics in this game are bursting with detail and color, and the animations of both Nina and her enemies are very well done. The combat system is very innovative, employing movements of the analog sticks instead of lengthy button combos. Bravo! It’s about time somebody got away from button combos. The puzzles are fun and quite involved. The only legitimate problem this game has is its camera, but it’s not serious enough to warrant the extremely negative reviews it has gotten. Give Death by Degrees a try and I think you’ll be impressed.

Nina always stood out to me in the Tekken series so when I heard she got her own game I was thrilled!DBD at first was a bit dissapointing with the lack of customizable controls and character alterations (Nina and Annas looks is far different from there Tekken apperances, Nina looked a tad sickly to me, but still hot). But other than that, I really loved the game. After a while I got over the lack of variety in the fighting controls and was deeply enticed by the 3D settings, music, and over all super agent spy-like feel of the game. Also the critical attacks were quiet original and offered tons of way to smash your opponents skeletal structure, but even that feature is limited as it is very unrealistic (for example smashing someones skull in and moments later they are back on there feet, or robots having skeletal structures at all), and there were often times where only certain body parts could be utilized in this mode. But during boss battles (were this feature is most likely to be used) you often get more freedom to execute a large number of moves and the beauty of this feature shines.Considering DBD is be a beat ’em up with such limited control and sometimes frustrating camera angles it does score fairly low in general standards of the genre. But strong Tekken (and Williams sisters fans) will be able to overlook the flaws and take for what Namco created it to be, a game that spotlighted Nina with digressing focus from the actual genre.

This is a good, but not great game. I do recommend picking it up in 2013. Its based on exploration and navigation of a gigantic cruise ship with the character Nina Williams. The graphics are some of the best I’ve ever seen. This could be a modern game with a few tweaks. The fighting system was meant to be easy, and it is playable. Doing complex moves with the analog controls is not very fun and thankfully combat is not the most important part of the game. There are enough weapons and items to make it interesting, like Katanas and hand guns. Picking items up from storage lockers, finding keys on dead guys, and grabbing access codes is more what the game is like. Its not quite creepy like a lot of PS2 games were, say haunting ground for example. Death by Degrees has a sleek and high tech look. The music and sound is way above average. This game is better than many action 3rd person games on the PS2, and better than Haunting Ground. If you are looking for Devil May Cry style fun, look elsewhere. This game is a bit on the slower paced side. If you liked original Resident Evil you will probably like this. I’d think of it as an RPG with some combat and lots of exploring. The game is just gorgeous. They did a good job. They probably could have made it more exciting, but if you want to explore a massive, luxury cruise ship, this is the only game I’ve ever played like it. There is some james bond style here and some good graphics. It is a playable game and I like it enough to keep pla.
