I needed a longer cord for my SVS PB-1000 subwoofer and this was perfect.

Excellent movie! Great 4K picture and the soundtrack is near reference level. Good disc to test or show off your AV system. Worth getting in 4K Blu Ray.

With the great story telling of that fateful day in 1993, what I got out of it is definitely the “No Man gets Left Behind” message, and conveying home to those that don’t believe in the war but follow-up harassing the soldiers in the front line. So much appreciation and admiration to those that not only fought, but keep going back to help until everyone is home.I’m not in military, nor have any family member affiliated with the military. So I can only judge as someone feel being protected by these brave folks. So this movie was an eye opener – same or more so than Saving Private Ryan. The blu-ray pictures are pretty good quality for blu-ray standards. Sound effect is quite good as well foot steps and flying bullets can be felt with a good home theater setup.

One of the best and based on an actual assault. Shows the brutality of war and what our young soldiers go through to defend our country. I have always felt that our military should be lead by the officers and military in the occupied country that we are helping to defend instead of a politician sitting in D.C. calling the moves. These men, of our military, are well trained to handle "on site" and know exactly what is happening each second of each crisis that arises. This movie depicts such incidents that play out everyday for our military in battle.

I’ve seen the movie before purchasing this 4K version to add to my collection and it is an excellent movie. My problem is that it was listed as New and I could tell it was re-shrink wrapped and when I opened it there are finger prints on the disc.

If you plan on buying the 4K version, see the extended version from director Ridley Scott. A groundbreaking film, which takes place in 1993 includes Josh Harnett, Ewan McGregor, and Eric Bana. It is soldiers whom are sent to Somalia and take down a violent warlord.

Well directioned, well acted, an exciting war movie. About a helicopter attack in Somalia

Hands down, one of the best warfare movies ever made. Awesome cast, intense action, and a great story to boot. Being an avid action movie fan, I can attest to the lack of shovel needed when viewing this film as the corn just wasn’t piling up. Yes taking out a rover engine with a .556 seems a bit outlandish, but the rest of the experience made up for it. I would recommend a nice surround or earphones while watching though, changes the movie for the better when the volume is right!

After getting the movie I bought the book on which it is based. This movie accurately depicts the American side, as written in the book. While some reviewers have complained about the chest beating bravado of the soldiers, their attitudes, right or wrong, is the way they were trained. This movie is very intense, and for all that it is even less intense than the book. I am astounded by the political situation, lack of our governments material support of Somalia (ie. the removing of the 2000 marines, not supplying tanks), the fog of war and what I consider command failures. These include the p-3 orion orbiting overhead and watching the convoy, but not being able to talk to convoy direct, directions had to go through 2-3 levels of command. What these men went through, why they went through it and what we thought we would achieve is dramatic. The innocent Somalians being caught in the gunfight, women and children shooting at the Americans, seeing your friends killed, all in a chaotic situation. Whether one questions are motives or right to be in Somalia, you can’t help but admire the average soldier who followed orders. For a realistic depiction of what went on that day in Mogadishu for American soldiers fighting for their lives, watch this movie.

Excellent movie about a tragic event involving our brave military.
