    good

  2. Javi

I’m an avid RPG fan. This review will be a bit strange, because I have not actually played this game myself. However, I believe I can offer readers a solid litmus test. The last old school JRPG I sunk 100+ hrs in was Bravely Second. My mother and I like to play the same JRPGS, but right now I’m at a time in my education where I don’t have as much time for video games, so I had to pick a game that I knew only she would play for a while. I really enjoyed Dragon Quest IX, and confirmed this is pretty much a reskin of the tried and true original. Now, my mother usually puts in about 20 to 40 less hours than I do in an RPG. Normally never going above 60, she casually mentioned she’s sunk 80 hours into the game. It’s likely 100 by now.

  3. Tomislav M Grujic

    Awesome game!

  4. Raggedy Ann’s Friend

    Grandson loves it

  5. Tatiana

Super fun game and a lot of content!

  6. Liz

This game is great if you have played Dragon Quest games before, as it really does feel like the game boy version except it’s 3D. The soundtrack really brings me back! Be prepared for quite a lot of dialogue; though, as well as grinding. Luckily, it isn’t impossibly difficult like previous games. This game has a lot to offer and you will find yourself wanting to know what happens next in the story. One thing I had trouble with was there was a few times I got stuck because the way you trigger story progression is very particular, but other than that, great game!

  7. chris leindenheimer

    Exactly as advertised

  8. J. S. Gotcher

    Great game! Long though.

  9. skwerlkiller

she wanted it, she got it. Wife’s happy, I’m happy.

  10. Nick

Starts off a little slow, but an hour or two in and I was hooked. Gameplay is smooth, combat is traditional with a few options for streamlining. The only thing I might have added is voice acting, but the text dialogue is nostalgic too.
