Sonic 1, 2 and spinball. Columns, street fighter, virtua fighter. My favorites. Ecco isn’t bad either I’m still warming up to it but in time I’ll learn to love it. But the graphics, games all of them are exactly as I remember them.

Sega really went all out to make this the best mini console on the market. The attention to detail and the gameplay are both awesome. This is a must own item.

I had very little hope for this console, as SEGA has lost a lot of credibility in recent years by farming out their IPs to dubious 3rd parties which have done nothing but tarnish SEGA’s reputation. I am happily surprised to say that this console is the first time in a long while that I have seen a genuinely good product from SEGA.The console itself feels of great quality and there is a lot of attention to detail here. I would dare say they even did a slightly better job than Nintendo did on their well respected NES and Super Nintendo classic consoles. Most importantly, the controllers are fantastic! Many complained that we only got the 3 button controllers, but I am so very satisfied with them. 90% of the Genesis library does not need a 6 button controller, and the 3 button controller is so much more comfortable. Props to SEGA for this choice. Not to mention, you can buy officially 6 button controllers for this console if you choose to.Now regarding the actual interface, it’s not bad. I would say that it’s not quite as polished as Nintendo’s offerings, but it is fully functional and pleasant to look at. I really like that when you switch the language to other countries, you get the ROM from that region. Very nice touch. My main complaint with this system is that the library is slightly lacking. I understand it would be difficult to curate a collection that would please everyone, but there are certainly some title choices that don’t make much sense to me. It would have been nic.

All of the mini consoles that have been released have look pretty good. Even the PS Classic, despite its paltry selection of games, was a nice looking system. Sega and M2’s effort with the Sega Genesis Mini is clearly coming from folks that love the hardware and wanted to make a great overall package. Sure, the little details on the system itself, like the buttons and movable cart slot flaps, are unnecessary. They are the best kind of unnecessary, though. I love little touches like that. The game selection is something that could always be better (and mods will let you improve it). What is present, though, is a nice mix of Sega titles, as well as third-party classics. Gems from Treasure, Capcom, and Konami are appreciated, along with the two new titles that are exclusive to this system. Tetris could be better, sure, but it is also a product of its time. And its still a good conversion of the arcade version. Darius is an extremely solid conversion of the arcade classic, down to its brutal difficulty. It would have been preferable to have had six-button controllers included with this, instead of the classic three-button ones. Games like Street Fighter 2′ Special Champion Edition practically demand the six-button controller. That’s about the only big downside to this package. Otherwise, if you like collecting these mini consoles, this is one of the better ones out there. And there’s enough in the game selection to keep you occupied for a while.

Perfect! Once I tested this out I added about 100 more games. There’s videos on youtube that will teach you how to do this. I will but a usb hun so I can add the entire Sega library. Highly recomended! I use the application “Project Lunar” on my computer to mod this Sega mini. I will continue to but what I need to maximize this product. With project lunar you can also add nintendo, super nintendo, nintendo 64 and more. RESEARCH THE PROCESS OF MODDING! Youtube ” Project Lunar sega mini”. I added an image of Splatter House which isn’t included for proof.

This thing is pretty cool for the pre-loaded games. It’s very small and sleek like the original genesis, however it DOES NOT PLAY CARTRIDGES.It ONLY PLAYS PRE-LOADED GAMES.The cartridge insert is completely unusable. It’s vastly too small and has NO HARDWARE to play your cartridges. In my opinion that makes it trash, as that’s literally what I bought it for…

This is an excellent little system with some of the best games the Sega Genesis had to offer. Some people are rating the system poorly because of input lag. That is not the console’s fault, it’s your fault for not changing the settings on your TV.Nearly every TV has a setting for video games. You need to find that setting and turn it on. That eliminates the input lag.

Did retrolio Treasure Truck release day and picked it up in the afternoon. So excited! Brings back old memories of when I was a child.

I picked this up for $31 from retrolio Warehouse, and at that price this thing is AWESOME. When they first came out, I think it was 89. I highly recommend picking up the Retrobit controllers which have more buttons, otherwise fighting games are really awkward, as you have to use the start button as a sort of shift key. If you are into tinkering with the games list, look into Project Lunar and I would suggest reviewing the compatibility list. For games that don’t work with the stock emulator, you can launch them using other emulators.

Growing up, I had a model 2. This is a very cool addition. I like this better than the NES and SNES minis. So awesome.
