Like others have said, this is a genuinely classic game. It’s been ported perfectly to the GBA. The dark colors used are definitely a problem, even under ideal GBA-playing lighting conditions. As soon as someone comes out with a true backlight modification kit for GBA, this game will be the best in the GBA catalog!
Earthworm Jim is another classic game that has graced the Gameboy Advance. This game stays true to the original formula with tehe addition of an extra level and minigames. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is on-going as the levels are zany and well designed. If you want a fun game for you Gameboy Advance then this is the game for you
well eartworm jim is one of the best game for game boy advance yet. it is a side scroller. it has ripping graphigs although not as bright as other games.( i think this is how it was intended to be). it has good sound. he can jump, whip lash, shoot a ray gun and helicopter to the ground. the one thing that totally spoiled the game was beleive it or not you can save. so you’re gonna have to do it all in one shot and this can become boring. my advice is to wait till may the 29th and buy eartworm jimmy 2 for the same price. i almost sure it would have a save feature.
I love this game, and since I recently lost my DS Lite with Earthworm Jim in it, I HAD to replace it. The ONLY downside that this, GBA version, has EVER had is that it has no save points. All in all, great price, fast delivery, and the game was in great condition.
I played this game when it originally came out on Sega. I loved it. I loved the graphics because it wasn’t the usual bright and cheery like Sonic or Super Marios Bros. It was darker “grittier”. I liked the humor too it’s off beat and different. This was the first game I bought for my GBA.Yes the GBA version is alittle dumbed down, but it had to be just fit it on to the super tiny cartridge. The overall gameplay is the same. The graphics look the same for the most part. And yes it is hard to see if you don’t have a GBA:SP. But keep in mind the game was originally designed for the GameBoy. I’m having a hard time trying too figure what the big deal is about it not having a save system. It’s not like the games of today where there is 30 hours of game play or longer. Super Marios Bros 1-3 did not have a save system. Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 did not have a save system. Contra, Double Dragon, Duck Hunt, Ecco the Dolphin, Golden Axe, and just about every video game before the Nintendo 64 and Playstation did not have a save feature and they did just fine. Again the game is a port from another system and time, so there are bound to be some differences. I love this game it’s still one of my favorites. Earthworm Jim might not be for everyone. Like I said the humor different, the game in general is a little different. But give it a try. If your not sure get it on sale or borrow but give it a try. Just don’t knit pick it to death.
I got this game as a birthday present after getting 1/2 of the money for a GBA and Tony Hawk 2, and I have to say, this is a great game. My cousin has this for Sega Genesis and he loves it (on both platforms :). The only thing wrong is it may get boring or be too hard for some. The graphics and sound effects make the game a hilarous addition to anyone’s GBA collection.A note for Carter Andrews (and all who may be interested):You can kind of save by entering this code until you get to the level you were on:During gameplay, pause by pressing START, then press ->, R, B, A, L, L, A, R. Don’t confuse "->" (right) with "R".
This has to be one of the most original platform games ever created. I was a big fan of the Sega Genesis version back in the day and this port does not disappoint. Aside from the lack of brightness on the screen, this is a must have GBA title.
