And they’re a wonderful, unlikely team. Anne Perry writes beautifully, believably, and this series is a joy to read, for those who enjoy historic mysteries.

In this fourth novel in the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series of Victorian era cozy mysteries, Charlotte and Thomas are drawn into a series of macabre crimes. Someone has been digging up recently buried corpses, dressing them up and placing them in bizarre locations. The first victim happens to be a neighbor of Aunt Vespasia, a relative of Charlotte’s brother in law, and who figured prominently in the previous novel. Once again Charlotte manages to assist Thomas break through the class barriers of the time and solving the crimes. This is an excellent series, but it does have a very strong overall story arc. In order to follow all the characters fully begin at the beginning (Cater Street Hangman) and proceed in order. Characters from earlier stories do return, sometimes two or three novels later and with only minimal background information provided in the current novel to explain their significance. The novels are well worth the effort needed to read them in order and keep track of the ever expanding cast of characters. The mysteries are rather clever but the true attraction is the glimpses into various parts of Victorian society and the on going story of Charlotte and Thomas.

So far, I’ve completed the Broken Steel dlc…i haven’t started Point Lookout yet.Broken Steel has you bring the fight to the Enclave and it is awesome! Along with this dlc are new armors, weapons and perks for building your character to suit your style of gameplay. I’m going to start Point Lookout soon! [I’ll update this review to account for the Point Lookout dlc]Pros: new weapons, armor and perks, story and action.Cons: minor framerate issues but not enough to detract from this awesome dlc.

Anne Perry’s Resurrection Row is more than a whodunit. It’s a fascinating, engaging story with unexpected depth. You won’t want to put it down from chapter one to the end.

Broken steel is the best dlc ever! It raised the level cap and put in some new kickin perks. Point Lookout seems very intimidating to me.

as good as always. This is book 4 in the series, and it keeps me going

I had read the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt books out of sequence and they kept referencing back to Resurrection Row when associated with a particular character. Reading it I found the story macabre mixed with dark humor. The story is thoroughly enjoyable and continues the fine standard Anne Perry has displayed throughout all her books.

I’m loving these books. Thomas Pitt is a police detective in London in the late 19th century, married to the lovely Charlotte, daughter of an upper class family.=out of his league. But she loves him to death and works hard at being a good wife and mother, learning how to stretch a dollar and keep her husband happy. Another upper class murder and these two need to find the culprit. Pitt does his diligent best at following protocol, and Charlotte uses her entry into polite society to get people to open up.What I find very interesting in these books is that Pitt deals with the most sexually depraved criminals, discussing cases over dinner with his blue blood wife, and yet, though these two are young and in love, there are no love scenes with them. Not erotica, just a sweet make out between husband and wife. But there are over 30 books in the series beginning with Thomas and Charlotte and adding their son as hero as time passes. Avery enjoyable read.
