This one was fun to visualise – I would love to see it as a TV program.People keep discovering dead bodies. Not just any dead bodies though. These have been exhumed, are at least a couple of weeks dead, covered in soil and sitting in places like the driver’s seat of a horse drawn cab or on top of a grave stone complete with a jaunty hat. Inspector Thomas Pitt does excellent work to discover the people responsible for this weird situation and the reason why it has occurred.Meanwhile Charlotte is mostly at home looking after baby Jemima but she still uses her connections to find useful information for Thomas. She is also very smart and occasionally steers her husband in the right direction to progress his case.I really enjoyed this one. It was short and snappy and the resurrected bodies were entertaining! Perhaps I have a strange sense of humour. I hope book five is as good.

Character and time placement capture as only Ms Perry knows how.A great series!

Anne Perry is outstanding author of British novels. Knows her history, backgrounds, sculpts her characters as if shelived with them. Read from first to last in order to enjoy full progression. You will advance with the characters like I did!Have read all twice, some three times they are so good! Speedy service, great condition for low price!

Bought this for PS3 but was sent the wrong one for XBOX instead, so I cant fairly review the contents. But I love Fallout 3.
Janet Russell –
This was an excellent mystery with interesting characters but the total crux of it is the inspector who is a very interesting character his method about going to solve issues it’s subtle but observant and the pieces of the puzzle finally coming together is surprising one does not easily guess who the perpetrator is
Ian Montgomery –
I like this series. There is always a possibility of these novels getting into a predictable rut, however the author always keeps me surprised and engaged. It helps that my grandmother was from this era!

Interesting premise: dead bodies keep getting dug up and placed in interesting spots, like driving a cab, on a church pew, on a tombstone. Inspector Pitt must figure out why and his wife, Charlotte, gets a chance to help. Some previous characters show up and get their stories moved along a bit and that was fun to see the continuation. I like this series because each is a well-constructed mystery with social commentary on Victorian life. Perry draws a picture of morality and vice in Victorian England that is well-developed and intriguing and is so interesting to read beside the murder myster.
