This game combines Dragon Warrior, Zelda and Harvest Moon together.there is a core quest mission you can complete but hey give you plenty of time to complete multiple quests in between.Core function in the game is you choose between "life" like for examaple carpenter, hunter, blacksmith and much more, each giving you special upgrades. You must level up in one particle life to help you in another one and vice versa for examample the better you are in blacksmithing the better your pick axe will be therefor it will be esier to be a miner the better tailor you are the better cloth you can make which will be used by carpenter, fisher, and tailor. Interacting with the local populace also lets you add them to your team.People you meet via street pass be in the village and you can talk to them.Over all it is a very fun and interactive game.

Fun game just wish you could coop story line missions with friends this game does not allow that all story quests are solo only in fact i think all quests are but you can join your friends for random battles and resource gathering

A friend recommended that I should get this game. I was unsure but I went for it.Now that I have it, the game has logged that I have played it for 11 hours. It is really cute and fun. Some parts of the game are grindy but most games are. You have to work for what you want – or you could just find a shopkeeper and buy the item. You have many Lifes to choose from. You can be a fisher, blacksmith, archer, and so on. You level up and can improve different aspects of your skills. You can also level up how far you can run or sneak before getting tired.Yes, this game will take so many hours to play in order to beat the game and finish the main and side quests. However, I am not sure about replay value. Since you can change your Life at any point in the game, playing the game for a second time would not offer much variety except for the order in which you choose your Life.I am sure if you don’t play the game for a while and come back to it, it will be fun all over again once you forget most of the game. Also, you can save the game at any point. There are save points all over the map. True, you cannot save it wherever you are standing, but it takes less than a minute to get to the nearest save point. All in all, I am very happy I got this game!

This little game is easily the best value I’ve ever gotten in a Nintendo DS game. I played it forever and I bet I go back to it eventually. I maxed out every life. It is really, really fun to play, it has genuinely funny dialogue, very cute animation. I got very fond of the characters who adventured with me.I’m in my fifties. Other games I love on the DS include the Pokemon games and "Animal Crossing." I also like "Civilization" and some of the "Harvest Moon" games. I play "Madden" and "Diablo 3" on my PS4 and "World of Warcraft" on my PC as well as other RPGs on all systems. That should help you know if we share the same tastes at all.Honestly, you can play this game for so many hours. Try it. It is one of my favorite games of all time. :-)

I have been having such fun with Fantasy Life. It does seem almost addictive, and I have been enjoying it more each day. I am a long time Animal Crossing fan, and although I don’t personally happen to think that Fantasy Life is very similar to Animal Crossing, still it has a lot of appeal. Since I enjoy fishing best in Animal Crossing, I chose to be an angler first, and that has been fun.Fantasy Life provides a lot of quests to work on – – you will have over a dozen after just a few hours of game play. For example, my quests included catching particular types of fish, finding out how to get a pet or a better home. You don’t really have to complete most of the quests by any particular time, but completing them allows you to progress and improve your skills. The quests and story line are similar to an RPG, or at least those are my thoughts. These quests create a more structured environment for your game play than in Animal Crossing. Yes, I can just go fish when I want to, but always in the back of my mind there are these quests and story line.(Edited to add:I had to change my 4 star review to 5 stars after a week or so – – this game REALLY grows on you and the more I play it, the better it gets. I love the quests and story line so much more now that I have made some progress in the game. If you feel even slightly disappointed with it, just keep playing because this is an amazing, terrific game that takes a while to develop.)The music/soundtrack in Fantasy Life is great, in my o.

If you’re a fan of animal crossing, and the Rune Factory series, then you’ll love this game! It offers the fab open world, do anything feel of animal crossing, and the learn/use whatever you like to reach your objectives of Rune Factory. It’s even got day/night effects.

  8. Rachel Ellis

I love, let me repeat, LOVE, this game. I’m a big gamer, but I also like games such as Harvest moon and Animal Crossing, so this is the perfect game if you like both rpg and slower games. LOVE IT. Super cute and fun.

Fantasy Life has easily become one of my new favorite games. There really is a lot to enjoy here. This a very detailed and creative world with elements of many great games, mixed together in an entertaining way, yet Fantasy Life forges out its own unique identity. The dialogue is funny and clever, and it reminds me a bit of classic Paper Mario writing. The adventuring has a little bit of a Zelda feel to it, with the sword play and exploring. There’s aspects of Animal Crossing with the collecting of items and designing your room and outfit, if you like. And there are elements of Rune Factory in here too, with the simulation and crafting aspect. As for the atmosphere of the game, it’s mostly has an upbeat and colorful vibe, though there are some slightly darker moments mixed in as well, so the game does good work of keeping the story interesting. What I also very much enjoy is that the designers did great work with the interfaces and menus too. I didn’t find the interface screens to be clunky or unclear. I felt as if there was a lot of thought put into the menus to make it very user friendly. If you enjoy light-hearted RPGs with catchy music, big, detailed world’s to explore with great personality, clever writing, nice graphics, and a sense of humor, you’ll enjoy this game. It really is a lot of fun with a great amount of depth.

games a bit wordy, but it held my interest. Not as bad as other reviews made it out to be. I found it easy to get rewarded for other quests I was not in the class of. I am not sure why others complained about that.
