One of my favorite games off all time and I got it for a good deal thanks.

So, right off the bat, I must say, that Final Fantasy Tactics for PSX is my favorite game of all times. So I hope you understand that this review is quite biased, but, with good measure, I should hope.First off, the bad news: It’s true, theres a significant slowdown during battles only, when casting spells (protect takes forever, for example) and special attacks. The sounds and the actions might be out of synch at times as well. Also, there’s new content, so far, most of it has had to do with Delita’s own story. These scenes feel weird: they do explain thoroughly several plot points that weren’t explained in the game’s first iteration, but they feel a little bit tacked on to me….still, they serve their purpose, to further Delita and Ovelia’s relationship, which is an important plot point that was glossed over the first time. Also, some sounds have been changed, most noticeably, the echo in the death rattles was taken out, and, it’s not that it sounds cheap…but it doesn’t sound as cool anymore. Some sounds HAVE been downgraded, like some higher level magic spells. All in all, I don’t understand that tradeoff in particular. The good – very interesting re-write of all the dialogue in the game. It was given the Ivalice-treatment, and characters now have a Shakesperian depth…just by reading them, you know what their station in life is, whether it be noble or not so. Also, the re-write made some of the plot points way clearer than the first time around. The incredibly intric.

This was a fantastic PSP game but I couldn’t honestly reccommend it for everyone. There are certain jobs that you have to use early in the game or you’ll die almost every time, and they don’t make sense. The monk is by far one of the best classes for the first several hours of the game, but how do fists outhit a sword to the face? But anyway, once you get into the rythym of the game, it’s a lot of fun, and I couldn’t put it down until after 30 hours into it, and that was only because my PSP took a crap. As soon as I get it replaced, I intend to pick up right where I left off with this game, and I would suggest any hardcore RPG fans out there to pick this up too. It’s well worth it’s $20 price tag, and despite the challenge, it’s a great buy.

The case and booklet look amazing, the game runs like and dream and the shipping was fast! Thank you!

I got this game a couple days ago and have been playing it all the time!I have to say this is the best game on PSP that I have ever played so far!Great story line, great customized scenes. Interesting battle system! Definitely a great RPG game! The only flaw I would say is the graphics of the battle still stays the same with games that are 10+ years old.Still quite fun to play! If you like RPG games, this is a great start!

Do you like strategy, turn-based, highly-customizable RPGs? If so, then this game is for you! If you like fast moving, graphically intense, low-strategy/quick-reaction games, then you might not like this game.I love the game! I can’t get enough of the strategy, and the high customization, via the variety of job-classes and skill combinations, lends to high replay-ability! The story line is nothing to shake a stick at either. I’ve played this on both the PS & the PSP, needless to say, it’s a classic in my book!

If you liked the original then you’ll love the expanded remake, although the additional content does require two systems and copies.
Enrique A. Marquez –
One of the greatest tactical RPGs ever made, only hindered by the fact that this remaster came out on the PSP. If you own a PSP, you owe it to yourself to play this game and enjoy not only a fantastic battle system, but an incredible story.
Clarissa –
Came in perfect condition! Got to play one of my favorite PS1 games remastered, and portable!

As a huge fan of the first FFT, I must say I was pleased with the PSP retread. The new animation was beautiful (although there are a few of the cutscenes I kinda miss in their original form…but that’s just me), the voices were acceptable, and the retranslation was infinately superior to the PS1 version (though still not perfect). They also took some of the censorship out (hooray for blood!). I wasn’t overly impressed with the new classes (the dark knight was nice), but they made for interesting additions. My only real issues with the game are slowdown and sound effects. The slowdown is self-evident…anytime you or an ememy uses anything other than the most basic attacks there is a disjoint between the animation and the sound (as the sound still plays when it should, while the animation grinds down to a turtle pace). And, for some reason, they altered or removed some other sound effects. My last minor issue was the renaming of certain things, which really has no bearing on the game itself (changing Heavenly Knight to Knight Gallant, for example). These minor changes didn’t effect the gameplay, but I felt distracted whenever I saw them.Overall, I was highly impressed. This game was just as fun as the original (and much more portable), and certainly worth your money if you want to enjoy FFT at the drop of a hat.
