Exactly what it is.

final fantasy tactics is without a doubt my all time favorite game. when i heard about this remake i went out and bought a psp. I have to say i loved the new cutscenes and jobs. The dark knight is slightly overpowered but you have to jump through plenty of hoops to get one. Onion Knight on the otherhand is extremely weak unless you master every other job in the game which took me well over sixty hours. Balthier was a good addition making mustadio completely obsolete with the added theif abilities on top of the machinist abilities. If you’re a fan of games like fire emblem and the final fantasy tactics advance series then i suggest checking this one out it won’t dissapoint, take it from the guy who has spent at least 480 hours playing(ps1 and psp versions together).

I was expecting that this game, which I played in my entire childhood, will be the one that will have no flaws and no errors, I was expecting the correction of every mistakes that it had on the PSX version, indeed they corrected the translation errors, but some sounds are synchronized to the attacks. The history of this game is amazing, It will be the 3 stars if I don’t have this game as my favorite game of my chidhood.

“The core tactical gameplay is the real gem here, and its quality still shines 10 years after its first release. It’s grinding, demanding gameplay that presumes a level of dedication and competence that many modern games don’t, and it’s all the better for it.”Pure Truth!

This game has withstood the test of time, gracefully.REVIEWTHIS is a mature game that will appeal to old and young alike, with plenty of treachery, violence, and tragic happenings. The story was made without any of the stupidity of odd creatures, judges, and race defined job classes. In my opinion, all the subsequent Nintendo DS remakes were stripped of many tactical options and lack any of the shine this game’s story has. So.. IF YOU HAVE PLAYED ANY FF Tactic GAMES PRIOR, THEY ARE NOTHING LIKE THIS GAME. In fact, the Advance and DS follow-ups were entirely geared toward children and simply made me angry with the tactic crippling “judge” aspect.CONNow if you’ve played this already on the PSX, you may notice right away the abilities animations are very sluggish. The cure spell 1 and 2 takes ~15 seconds to cure 4 people.. The game also reads from the UMD often which I think runs the battery down a bit faster than usual.VERDICTAnyway, War of the Lions is a legendary game, (like X-com to the PC), and no other turn based strategy I’ve played on the PSP, Playstation X,2,3 has bested this game in story or tactical options. Go ahead, buy it and find out why.

I have noticed only a few reviews have touched upon the multiplayer aspect of this game, so I thought for those who are interested I may be able to shed some more light on this part of the game. If you are lucky enough to have a friend to play with, Rendezvous Mode (co-op) and Melee Mode (1v1) just make this amazing game that much better. To start a multiplayer game you and your friend have to be in the same tavern. From there just select what game mode you would like to host/join.For Rendezvous Mode, you and another player can tackle up to 15 unique missions together as a team (Mission 15 is only unlocked after beating the single player game.) After completion of a mission you can pick a number of chests with items in them. The number of chests that you get to open depends on how well you completed mission. Examples of this are, deploying fewer characters, dont let any pty members be KO’ed, and KO’ing as many enemies as possible. 1 chest being the lowest number you can open, 5 being the highest. Both players get to open the same number of chests.Melee mode is a 1v1 battle with you and your friend being able to deploy up to 5 characters each. You can pick any battle area that at least one of the 2 players has cleared in storymode. Melee modes battle system is also a little different than the normal games. Players characters may sometimes Lock weapons, making both players having to rapidly hit the X button to try and win the deadlock, resulting in a critical hit or.

Do I really need to post….it’s final fantasy!

THis game is an amazing instalment in the final fantasy series. The characters are amazing, the graphics, the story, the gameplay, the character classes etc. were all near flawless. The only real problem is the replay ability. The game ends in a way that prevents you from continuing past its completion. Once you beat it, you just keep starting over at the halfway point of the last mission, so you can never leave it or ever go on to further develop your characters. That puts you at a complete standstill in the game with the only remedy being to have had the presence of mind to have made a separate save file before the last mission. Otherwise, once you beat it, that’s it, you cant continue, you just have to restart the game all the way from the beginning, all that progress lost. Which sucks with a game like this. Thats why i can’t give it 5 stars, im sorry FFT, but the end is just a let down.

Coincidentally, I had just dug up my old PS version of FFT to replay, when I discovered that it was going to be re-released on PSP. This was my first tactics game, which led me to try others, but FFT by far surpassed them all. So I blew the dust off my PSP. Yes, the PSP version is the same game (shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone: read the title), but the additional scenes and updated translation are well worth it. The plot and even particular conversations make more sense, and the Renaissance-like dialogue really enhances the aesthetics. I recall putting in 100+ hours (the clock only went up to 99) on the original, and I expect I’ll be doing it again.
