My favorite ps4 game and tied for favorite Yakuza game with Yakuza 2. Even if you haven’t played any of the other games this one is a great starting point for the series. It’s amazing how far this series has come since the first game on the ps2. Cannot recommend this game enough.

  2. Bob Larrity

Yakuza 0 is probably the best game in the series. It strikes that perfect balance in tone -constantly shifting from serious drama to wacky- that all yakuza games masterfully execute. Its combat, for the first time in the series, employs multiple styles. These multiple styles give great variety for newcomers as well as old fans that are used to playing 4 or 5 protagonists ( Long live my boy Shinada). The side quest and intimately woven with upgrades and your side business, giving you incredible incentive to enjoy this little adventure- that are all pretty well done. Filled to the brim with heart-wrenching story telling, engaging combat, and side content galore, you’d be doing yourself a massive disservice passing this up.The essence of the Yakuza franchise has never burned brighter. The fishing minigame isn’t as good as three’s though.

As someone whose never played a Yakuza game before, I’ve been completely blown away. The story is gripping and intense, the combat is fun and satisfying, and the side missions are incredibly goofy and entertaining distractions from the main story. Don’t hesitate to jump into the series with this game, it is well worth it.

Amazing Game. Really fun and great Story. I know you are suppose to do the side quest but my first play-through I found myself needing to know what happens next in the story.

  5. Jeremiah Boston

Definitely recommend for people who are just getting in to the series

I played the original Yakuza 1 and 2 ages ago back on the PS2 but eventually stopped keeping up with the series. After seeing so much praise for Yakuza 0 though I decided to give it a shot, and I’m ever so happy I did. Yakuza 0 made for an amazing return for the franchise and has me excited to try out the rest in their remastered games as well as the ones I’d missed. I even went ahead and got myself the Yakuza 6 After Hours edition when it was 50% off as I was so pleased with my experience. If the game looks at all like something you might enjoy, I definitely recommend picking it up. And even if you feel kind of unsure on the matter, if you can get it on sale I’d say give it a try. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised. I know I certainly got more out of it than I was expecting.

From the story to the substories, from the gameplay to the graphics, from the soundtracks to the sound effects, they hit the nail on the head with Yakuza 0

In the real estate management system, you can hire a chicken as a manager. This chicken doesn’t talk or open up new clients. It’s just a chicken. This game is a wonderful look at 1980s Tokyo bubble culture. It feels like one of those classic SEGA games where you just go out and play. Great writing, voice acting, and music. The combat styles add a lot to the traditional series brawling.

  9. Chris

This is the best Yakuza game that I’ve played to date. It’s a little slow at the start and cutscenes are lengthy but they deliver a great story. This Yakuza brings out more minigames than ever. There are substories as usual(which are absurd but hilarious) and business ventures that add hours of gameplay. It’s an over the top game but enjoyable from start to finish. If you enjoy action games, beat-em-up games, or have an appreciation for ridiculous minigames it is well worth the purchase.

This game is awesome. The graphic and story are off the hook. I cant stop playing, I need more sleep lol still feel bad for Lee tho. This series never disappoint me!
