Some say there’s nothing finer than a well-crafted automobile. The third title of the Gran Turismo series takes full advantage of the new PlayStation 2 game engine, which is capable of rendering about 20 million polygons per second–roughly 10 times the number of total polygons of the series’ previous installment, Gran Turismo 2.ran Turismo 3: A-Spec, which brings the series to the PS2, features over 150 of the world’s top performing sports cars, luxury autos, modified street runner, rally racers, and prototype evolutionary automobiles. Each car looks and handles exactly as they should, thanks to the detailed graphics and realistic physics. You are in for the ride of your life.

I was lucky enough to get my GT3 a few days before the national street date, and am just amazed with this game!! GT3 has certainly rasied the bar, for real-time play, and replays that are so life-like the player will swear that he is watching a movie of the race he/she just completed. The car selection has been trimmed, and I see good points, and bad points to that. Sorry muscle car lovers, but they are gone from the line up. Newer cars have been added such as the brand new not even out yet Acura RSX, and new Nissan Z car, and the new prototype Viper, and Mazada RX-8!!!!! The tracks have all been beautifully rendered into the game, and the attention to detail is extraordinary. They have even thrown in a few new tracks as well. People have mentioned the heat shimmers coming up off the track, and the tire smoke of skidding tires, and sparks that shoot up after a car bottoms out on a rumble strip. All of this makes game that much improved over the previous editions of the GT series. One down side is the sound track to the game. I miss the Cardigans, and Garbage, and Filter, but not to worry i won’t let that prevent me from enjoying what i think is the new Hottest Game for the Playstation 2 platform. Buy it now before it sells out!!!!!! enjoy.

Many years ago I remember playing this game non-stop in my room with not a care in the world. Just recently I decided to relive this experience, and witness head on what nostalgia felt like. My goodness, just seeing the game introduction video brought back so many memories. I would have to say Gran Turismo 3 has the one of the best racing gameplay mechanics around, and for the reasonable price, you get hours worth of content. Even though this game is old, it still hasn’t lost its charm. If somehow, you still held onto your ps2 console, I would absolutely recommend this game to be added to your collection.

The good:I loved this game when I was in high school. I fondly remember the Suzuki Escudo as being my be-all-end-all vehicle for the end part of the game. And you can get this game for cheap now. What a fun game. The bad:If you’re looking at this and thinking that spending ~$5 is way better than pirating a >3GB ISO, you better bring your big boy computer. GT3 is quite a beast to emulate. AMD A10-5800K @ 4.6GHz cannot play this game full speed, even with crappy settings. An overclocked i7? Maybe.

Still awesome. I can’t believe how well this game still holds up.Tons of cars, tracks, and customization options. The Force feedback while using the Logitech driving force pro is quite impressive as well. Brings me back to 8th grade. haha. Can’t wait for GT7.
