Mainly bought it to add to my collection but as I booted it up worked fine everything was in order.
I’ve been a long fan of Sony. I’ve been debating on which to buy next, the PS3 or the X360. I bought the X360, mainly for Halo 3!Everything is wonderful and works great. All items worked just fine and was super easy to assemble, despite all the plastic wrappings and manuals. I also bought the HDMI chord for this, and let me tell you, the images on my flat screen are spectacular. The games I’ve played on this have looked amazing, and the movies looked better too!The only bad thing is that the system is loud. I personally am not bothered by it, but I can see how others might be… especially if you can’t put it somewhere enclosed… you’ll then have ventilation problems.Anywho, it’s a good system and it looks real cool. It definitely earned me nerd points among my nerd friends for its looks, so thats kinda cool lol.
I have owned 3 Xbox 360 consoles, and not a single one of them have suffered the Red Ring Death. This one is no exception.I am a huge fan of the Halo series so me buying this was a “No Duh” decision. People complain about the Red Ring of Death with their systems. I have never had this issue. I do not know if these people are unlucky or if they simply cram the Xbox in a non vented area, but if you keep the Xbox out where it can breathe I think it would be alright. Just my 2 cent there.This version of the 360 does have HDMI like the newer versions do. I only have 2 major complaints with this system.1 being that I wish it would have come with the 120GB Hard drive vs the 20GB. The 20 fills up just too quickly with all the great stuff on Xbox Live.2 is that I wish you could buy more controllers, headsets, etc to match this system! I have 1 really nice Green controller and then 1 Black and 1 White one. Would it be so hard to make these to buy separate?This is nothing but a Green Xbox 360. lol But if you love Halo, this is an awesome choice.

If you’re just buying an xbox 360, probably because of halo 3, this is the xbox for you. It has HDMI connectors, and the black finish of an elite. The case and controllers are olive green, just like master chief, and the crome components have been replaced with an orange finish to match our valiant hero! I think that one overlooked perk of this xbox is the exclusive downloads provided. By typing in 2 codes at the marketplace screen you get a Halo 3 Theme and Halo 3 gamer pics that are only included in this xbox. If you see these pics you know the player is playing on a Halo 3 Edition. The olive colored theme meshes perfectly with the olive console. You also can’t forget that these xbox consoles were just manufactured, so they have the most updated hardware inside, and should not suffer the same fate as soo many premieum xbox’s did (RED RING OF DEATH!! It happened to me!)

I consider myself an unbiased gamer and have played many different consoles and brands over the years. My reason for buying the 360 was for the game library, including the obvious Halo 3 among several others. Thus I can honestly say that, from the moment I bought this console I have experienced no freezes or hardware failures of any kind. Maybe I’m just one of the lucky few, but my 360 has been working flawlessly for about 6 months now. If you manage to lay hands on a console that works as well as mine, you can’t go wrong with the 360. I love the design, the menu layout, the controller, and the library.As far as it having the Falcon chipset, I don’t know. There are numerous sites on the web offering various methods of determining if you’ve gotten one of the vaunted Falcons, but I have no idea who is right or wrong.My console has had a Nyko Intercooler EX on it since the second week i’ve owned it. This may or may not have contributed to my lack of problems, but I do recommend this accessory since it is only $20 and the additional ventilation can only help your console.My final word: If you are unwilling to take the chance of having to deal with a defective console, and there are no 360 games that you MUST play, then spend your gaming dollars elsewhere.On the other hand, if you’re like me and are willing to take the risk in order to play Halo 3, Gears of War, and all the other 360 games, take the plunge.Just do your research and make sure that the console you’re looking at.

I didn’t own an Xbox 360 and I only bought it to play Halo 3, so what better way to play with the Special Edition themed Xbox? Not only does this Halo 3 themed Xbox look sick, it’s also another alternative to deciding if you should upgrade to the elite and coughing out extra dollars. With its HDMI split cord, you can plug this into any TV on the go (HD or Regular), and have great looking results. Not only that but the package also includes a recharger for the also Halo 3 themed controller, which is a nice add on. Even if you aren’t a Halo Fan, this console is the great alternative for having to spend extra to upgrade to the elite 120 GB hard drive, but some of us don’t need that kind of storage. With its all around good looks and upgrades, this is something to look out for while you can.FYI: There are still some reports out there that these Xbox’s get the Red Ring of Death, mainly because of overheating, but they are FEW.

I’m a big halo fan, I own a halo reach console as well, bought this used just to add it to my collection. I love it works just fine, I’m playing without the fear of the three rings of hell. I guess the control could’ve been more stylish instead of just dark green, but it’s still nice. Good orange hard disk and disk tray as well as the green design make this console a nice add-on for halo fans. If you’re looking for something newer and more reliable just go ahead and pre-order halo 4 console.

This is my first Xbox 360 system so I can’t give a proper comparison as far as if it’s better than the older 360 or not. I bought this system over 2 months ago. So far I am very pleased with it. I have had no technical problems as of yet and the system runs great even after 4+ hours of use. Some fellow purchasers have, by the 2 month mark or less experienced some difficulty with the system. I was very conscious of that fact when I bought it, but so far it works great. I would recommend this system.It is a good looking great working machine and has not let me down yet.*updated*I have now owned this console for over a year and still have no problems what-so-ever. I have logged 1000’s of hours on this system. I love Xbox live, it continues to get better every day. I consider this a great gaming system.I could never say it’s better than the PS3 because I don’t own one to compare with. I do plan on getting one soon so I may have more input on that yet.*updated yet again june 1st 2009*I have had a PS3 since christmas and can’t say it’s better or worse. I like both systems for different reasons. I use the PS3 for movie watching over the 360 it’s much more quiet and I will always consider the free online gaming a plus. But I have more games on my 360 and if a game came out for both systems I would choose the 360 version. Why? Because my opinion is that it’s a better gaming system. I like the controllers better too. More substantial. Well looks like people aren’t find.

Don’t listen to everyone who says that their Halo 3 systems were Dead on Arrival or broken out-of-the-box. They are clearly part of a very small minority and should not deter you from purchasing this product.That being said, this console really looks awesome. Rather than the boring all-white or black you get from the other systems, this Halo 3 Xbox 360 has Halo 3 insignia that any Halo fan can appreciate. Not only that, but the green and gold theme just looks sweet.The 20gb hard drive is more than enough for any average gamer. Unless you plan on downloading and keeping every demo on the marketplace, I don’t believe you need the 120gb hard drive. But that is always an option if you ever need to upgrade. The system includes an HDMI port (but no HDMI cable), a play-and-charge kit with a rechargeable battery, component cables, an ethernet cable, and everything else that would come with a premium Xbox 360 console.My Limited Edition Halo 3 console runs perfectly — it is quiet and remains very cool while playing games. I have had no problems with it.
