i have always been a half-life fan and that is the reason i bought it. i never had a powerful enough computer to play these games so i was very happy when they came on xbox. i dont like team fortress or portal. so i am not reviewing those games. but the half life games would the same if you had all the highest settings on your computer. it loads fast and the graphics and sound are good. i didnt notice any glitching. there might be those small things that game designers miss but it will not effect your game play at all. (probably wont even notice them). but the graphics, and sound are what you would expect from the best computer with the highest settings.

It’s a fun game. I played Portal 2 first and liked it so much I went back for the original release. A little bit of overlap, but lots of other puzzles too. I’m playing Half Life 2 now and sometimes have to stop playing because I succumb to motion sickness. The first game that’s done that for me. But still enjoying.

The Orange Box gives a great price for some really nice classic games.Half life is one of my favorite games, and it is still very fun to play on the xbox 360.Portal is a great puzzle game, although relatively short compared to most games.I admit that for xbox 360 I find Team Fortress 2 to be the weak point in this bundle. I love playing this game on a pc, but I have never gotten used to the controls for the 360, especially for fast classes like the scout. Also, it feels like they have added so much content to the PC version, and I miss all of that whenever I try playing on my xbox. It is still a great game, but it is one which I prefer to play on my pc.

I had played Half Life and Half Life 2 before, the latter on a PC in 2006. Most of the bugs associated with the Steam content delivery system had been eliminated by then but it was still a chore to get things up & running. The desire to play HL2 on a stand-alone console system is what eventually motivated me to buy a refurbished XBox 360 (reviews seemed to indicate that HL2 on the Play Station 3 is buggier).Well, great experience so far. HL2 plays exactly as I remembered from the PC days, no bugs whatsoever & the use of a console controller makes for effective gameplay. HL2 won a bunch of awards in part because of its atmosphere – the attention to detail is astounding & the player becomes immersed in the environment of the East European flavored City 17. You can play the game with a developer’s commentary track (accessed via clicking on icons floating around in the game environment) – it’s interesting to learn about some of the game design considerations & decisions. I’ve played the Episode 1 game as well; it seems to play longer than a one-third part of HL3. Episode 2 is on deck for me. The only kvetch I might have with HL2 is that the gameplay is very linear – it’s obvious which door you should take because there’s only one door, etc. The original Half Life seemed to have more situations in which you had to rationally figure out a course of action. Or perhaps I was just inexperienced in those early days of gaming…I thought the wife might like Portal, what with its physics.

The price is low on the Orange Box, but you get 5 games for the price of one; Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, and Fortress. Half Life 2 is worth the price by itself, the others are pure bonus. Plays well, except new areas show a loading bar that stops the action for quite a bit. Not the best player around, but definitely worth it’s reduced price.

Let me say this first, I bought this game after I heard much about it and many of these reviews about how it is the best video game deal in history. I’m not going to argue. You do get 5 games for 20 bucks, however 3 of them is the same game that they added to like expansions. It just continues the story from where the last one ends. This is the Half Life 2 w/ its two following episode expansions on the game.Team Fortress I have heard a lot about and a lot of people do love it, it just wasn’t for me. The graphics where, well kiddy for a shooter and it wasn’t that much fun honestly, but again a lot of people do like it.Portal, the main reason I bought this was for Portal. With Portal 2 coming out in the next year, my friends have been going on and on about this game. So I thought I would give it a try. It is a very unique game, however, after playing it for 3 hours or so I realized.. It literally is the same task over and over again yet with more difficult ways to do it. It doesn’t seem to add any new tasks as the game goes on, just more challenging ways to do it.Overall, it is worth 20 dollars and a lot of people will love it, but I couldn’t give it a 5 star simply because of the 5 games is really only 3, Team Fortress wasn’t for me, and Portal wasn’t awful by any means but in no way shape or form demands the hype for the sequel that it is getting.

Buy this game. It’s great. Whatever price is on it is worth it for Portal ALONE!!! Portal is the best game ever and if you have NEVER played it, PLAYU IT!!!!!Be warned, Team Fortress 2 is a Multiplayer-Only game. So if you are getting it for the Cartoon Shooter, be aware you’ll need internet and live.

A fantastic game compilation with must have classics. Half-Life? Portal? Yes, please! For just about any one, casual or expert gaming. Also, has a high replay value in my opinion. Will revisit again if in the mood.Highly recommend!

This combination of half life 2, HL2 episode 1, HF2 episode 2, Portal, and Team fortress 2 is one of the best deals on xbox 360. All the games are top notch. Portal is a incredibly fun FPS puzzle game with an involving story, and is a great change of pace from other FPS shooters. Portal is around 4 hours long. The Half-life games are have some of the best storylines out of any games to date. Team fortress 2 is a “cartoon” style class-style FPS game, and has a full community of players online so you woln’t be left waiting for a game long, which is a problem with some of the FPS games that arn’t constantly being played by the masses.
