Definitely not a true Harvest Moon game but just as good. I have really enjoyed Skytree Village and wonder if Natsume hadn’t just slapped Harvest Moon on it if more people would have actually enjoyed it. It has some clunky controls and the art style in my opinion is different but not bad. This will be a game I will definitely replay. I can’t compare it to The Lost Valley, because I never played that game.
I have played Skytree and Lost Valley, and honestly, I don’t find them horrible like everyone else, I actually really enjoy them. I see so many reviews here that haven’t even gotten far into the game, I’m currently 16 hours in and I really do like it. Yes I do have complaints of course (6th skytree am i right?), but really it isn’t anything too extreme to truely make me hate it.Story of Seasons is a great series! But honestly, I got very bored with it after doing everything, and I did not want to reset to do it all again, that’d be annoying, this one is simple and easy to replay if you choose to.Don’t let the graphics and art push you away! It’s really fun
I played the previous game in this series: The Lost Valley. I just couldn’t get into it. I really wanted to like it, but only being able to tend crops one square at a time became too tedious to bear. I also only ever "revived" spring, but was unable to see it due to it being summer already.Skytree Village has improved everything ten fold. The characters are better looking and more interesting. Tool upgrades are amazing. And you don’t have to live in perpetual winter! It’s not perfect, but I see myself playing this game for at least several dozen hours. My only big complaint is the lack of 3D. The binoculars made a come back, but all they are good for is reminding you how badly you wish you could see the 3D all the time. Other than that, I’m really enjoying the game.
11 year old loves this for 2DS
I found this game relaxing and a great way to end a stressful day. It definately has it’s flaws though, but overall I will be keeping an eye out for future titles of the series. On a side note, ignore the pictures uploaded in the comments section. As of the time I’m writing this review, none of them are for the title in question, but rather the previous title in the series and most are even from the “story of seasons†line of games which have an entirely different developer company.
Not bad
If you are looking for harvest moon this probably isnt for you. If you like minecraft then you will probably like this. I didn’t enjoy TLV and was hesitant to get this one but I am glad I did. I am 70 hours in and enjoy he minecraft feel and mutating all the crops. The tools are upgradeable now which is great. There are only 3 marriage candidates for each gender which is sad since the guys are particularly great. i play both HM and SoS and they each have their perks. This is a nice filler while waiting for ToT to be released in Feb
Much better than the lost valley. The NPCs personalities all feel forced, none of them seem like they could be an actual person. They are more like some random traits were chosen and then a weak personality was built around it.The story was OK but some areas of it felt like they were added in to extend it.If you want a Minecraft like farming game for your 3ds then this is a good choice. If you’re looking for a good story/characters then look elsewhere. The overall game is good but it just feels incredibly unpolished.
First, ignore the other reviews. There is quite a bit of strife within the so-called fandom over the whole Natsume/Marvelous split. People are so immature and bent out of shape over the whole thing that they try to slam Natsume at any chance they get.Skytree Village is the follow-up to the less than stellar Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. A title that showed an absolute ton of promise, but was held back by so much that it was nearly a burden to play, and that was a total shame too because what Natsume has crafted in that game was a diamond just waiting for its chance to shine.Enter Skytree Village and we are finally getting to see Natsumes vision for the genre shine. Everything about this title, from the music to the graphics to the enhanced gameplay show that the team took most of the criticism from their last game to heart.- Tools are now way more useful this time around as they can be upgraded multiple times through repeated use, and thanks to the crop mutation systems and terraforming, upgrades come quickly.- Complaints about the graphics are where you see the dirty fanboys and girls crawl out of the woodwork. Making due with what power the 3DS offers, Natsume has put together some vibrantly colorful and animated characters that are full of personality and emote more than an SJW watching Married With Children. To say that former Harvest Moon series Story of Seasons has better graphics is just foolish. The artstyle may be different, but the fixed camera angle and in-game gr.
Good harvestmoon game. The functionality is sorta confusing at first, since this is slightly different from other harvestmoon games.
