First off, I’d like to say that I am a Civil War buff and I enjoy anything that has to do with the subject. So….after playing through the pc version of Civil War: Secret Missions, I decided to get the prequel to that game. After ordering the pc version, I was disappointed to find it didn’t run at all on Windows 7. I was lucky enough to find an xbox 360 at a garage sale for a good price (and yes, it runs, too). I then got the xbox version of this game and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I still play this game a lot. Here is basically how the game is: There are only twelve missions, battles, whatever you want to call ’em. However, I found each one to be extremely fun and enjoyable. Here is a brief list of each CS mission and what they are like: Confederate: 1. Bull Run: An okay mission, not exactly one of my favorites but not bad since there is a little bit of line fighting in this one (a little bit mind you). You have to destroy a cannon position and then destroy three rows of barricades. Lots of fighting in farm areas. 2. Shiloh: One of the worst missions of the set. Completely historically inaccurate it’s absurd. You and you alone have to "slice the throats" of Union guards with a bowie knife (okay? I don’t recall that happening in the Battle of Shiloh though the Confederates did surprise the Union with an early morning attack). You can’t even get close enough to slice a picket’s throat before the spin around and start shooting. If you are lucky enough to down.

Graphics are great. It has the real weapons that they had in the Civil War and almost the same combat.

Good game. Gives you a lot of information about the civil war.But its really easy to beat I had it beat in 2 days. Not much of a challenge

First off Kudos to the History Channel for making a game that was different and enlightining, I was sick of playing the same old WWII games. Going into the game I wasn’t expecting much given all the negative reviews that have been posted, however since this is pretty much the only Civil War game on the market I decided to give it a shot. Now let be realistic, is the game as fast paced as lets just say Call of Duty 4? No but then again we can’t compare this game to ANY other FPS games out there, why? Because this game is the only FPS set in the 1860’s where the method of warfare was far different than what we know today or even in WWII.Each mission is nicely introduced with a brief History lesson which leads you into what you have to do. I would have loved to be behind that Stone Wall in Gettysburg making the last stand and beating back the Confedrates, but the point of the whole game to let you know that there was more to the story than just the major conflicts of every battle. After the mission there is an outro on the outcome of the battle. As for the fighting itself yes I did notice while I was ducked behind a wagon or building that I was still getting hit, but then I noticed it was because the enemy was trying to flank me and I had guys on my sides shooting at me.It was nice to finally have different authentic weapons from the erato see how they worked, I was growing tired of MP40’sThe graphics were pretty good and not at all bad for what it wasMy only knock on this game.

My grandson who is an avid gamer has really liked the game because it meats his two favorite things, 1. gaming and 2. military history particularly the Civil war.
