The D pad was a little loose, but other than that in perfect condition. Unfortunately, Mario Kart 7 is downloaded onto a 4gb sd card, meaning if you want a bigger card, you have to loose the game, but still an excellent purchase.
I ordered this as a backup to my heavily used new 3ds xl just in case it kicked the bucket or Nintendo discontinues the entire DS line since the switch lite is now out (new 3ds xl already discontinued).Let me first say I am not normally a purple color guy but this color is great in person and the pictures don’t do it justice. This unit is much lighter then the new 3ds xl and it feels great in my hands. Only real design issue I saw was the speaker location. With the way I hold the DS systems my hands are almost always covering the speaker holes.So my plan was to do a full charge, initial setup then play Xenoblade to test the screens, buttons, and joysitcks to check for defects before putting it back in the box for storage until it was needed.First issue I noticed right after looking the system over was that the c stick (or nub) was off center down and to the right. It wasn’t a huge deal and it was something I could live with so I moved on to check everything else, and then noticed a real problem.The circle pad (left joystick) side to side movement was very rough and randomly stuck if any downward pressure was applied. Up and down movement was a little rough but more in the realm of a new joystick needing to broken in. Unfortunately the side to side movement didn’t get any better and honestly felt worse after moving it in circles and side to side for almost two hours to just see if there was just some extra material from the factory that was rubbing and would go away.I decided.
Very cool system. Thought for an older system price should be lower.
Got this for my 7 yr old. She’s had it a month and the screen is out…not broken, but something behind it is not working.
Received Nintendo 2DS about two weeks ago have been enjoying it tremendously. This newer version is lighter making it comfortable to use. I love the games that are available! I just want to give a warning in regards to screen protectors that adhere to the screens for protection. I was in a panic when after installing the protective film on both screens the unit no longer worked!!! The control buttons would not respond even when I tapped on the screen the unit remained non responsive! At first I thought that I had damages the unit when I applied the protective film but I was thrilled when after removing the film the unit worked perfectly!!!
Its a great hand held device but the camera on both sides is AWFUL quality. I do like that you can use any DS games with this device though, original DS, 2ds & 3ds games all work!
Not to bad so far outside of the fact that I couldn’t use the screen protector on it which makes me upset since it’s for my younger son. No other problems so far..
I bought this for my wife for Christmas since she has always wanted Sims 2 Castaway since she played it on PlayStation 2. So I bought Sims 2 Castaway for this system for her. However since she already knew I was getting this for her I gave her this to her early. The graphics could be better. It’s not the best but I have seen games for smartphones on Google Play that have better graphics than what this system has. I know it’s a handheld gaming system, but so is the PSP and that has good graphics. I’m not saying that this is a bad handheld system. It’s better than Gameboy and Game boy color which I had both of those when I was a child. You can buy games off the Nintendo store and download them right onto the 2ds xl. There is also a web browser too. I might get one for myself if there are different colors because I do miss playing the original Mario and Super Mario, and Donkey Kong Country which this system has in the store. Once in a while I get tired playing my Xbox One and playing shooter games. Playing Mario and Donkey Kong will bring back childhood memories.
A decent well made cheaper version of the 3ds, I got this instead because the 3d effects give me a headache and didnt need to pay for something I want going to use, I really like the color combination of this particular one, and it feels sturdy when playing it, my only complaint is that I played it at night and noticed on the top panel around and even away from the screen the light was bleeding through the plastic, I dont know if the paint or plastic is thick enough around random areas but i have looked up AMD saw many people having the same issues
I love Nintendo products… this is a nice system. Does a bunch of stuff I don’t need but whatever. My only complaint is the loose screen hinges, on mine one side shifts slightly up and down, besides the normal play between hinge clicks… after a few google and reddit searches sounds like the hinges are loose on purpose… I thought about returning for another but it doesn’t sound like it would make a difference due to inconsistency in the product. So that’s a little annoying to me but the system works well otherwise. I would still recommend it.

Bought it for my son and he loves its. Works great. The only down side is that the stylus falls off all the time. I actually bought an other one in blue for my other son and in that one the stylus fits perfectly. Had to buy them seperatley because the shop allowed only one purchase of the 2DS XL per customer. Could not return the DS because it was a Christmas girft and I had bought it 2 months before. Although I did test them out before Christmas to make sure they work and they did but I didn’t put any thought into that detail (stylus). Other than that is a very good console.

I was torn between a Switch or 2DS/3DS and I just couldn’t justify spending the extra money on something I really just wanted to play casual. Plus I really wanted to play Ocarina of Time again (not to mention others). I’m so glad I got my 2DSXL, I love it! The 3D fad is starting to fade, so I’m glad I didn’t spend the extra money for just 3D.

So happy I bought this. It plays games from the original DS and also the 3DS. I ordered this because my pink ds lite limited edition just stopped charging and working and I was looking for that one. But to buy that new was $100 more than this one. And when I saw this one I was like ok and then I saw I can connect to the internet and be able to Download games on it i was sold. And it cost just as much as I paid for the DS lite a couple years back. And it came with a game already downloaded on it! Can’t complain! I love the colors as well.

Arrived at my house in only 3 or 4 days, even though it wasn’t scheduled to arrive at my house for 1 or 2 WEEKS!!!! (I selected free snail-mail shipping). 2DS XL is indeed brand new and has Mario Kart pre-installed. Good button layout, extremely lightweight compared to 3DS XL, and the screen is almost as big as the 3DS XL, and a little wider too. There’s even a cover for where your game cartridge goes in, so you can never accidentally eject it!!! (SUPER helpful if you’re a pokemon shiny-hunter like me!)Only drawback to this ‘bute is that the speakers are tiny and placed at the bottom of the DS’s lower screen. (so you can put 2DS skins on, I guess?) Volume slider doesn’t help the problem out much- bring earbuds with you for a better sound experience!Overall great hand-held, brand new, at a bargain price. (Especially since other shops on this site and ebay try selling used 2DS XL’s for way more)

Make sure to know the difference between the 2DS XL and NEW 2DS XL. I don’t buy a ton of games as I use consoles more, but when I browse games I see that complaint ALL THE TIME. People buy the older model thinking “new†just means it’s not pre owned. Big mistake by Nintendo for not naming them differently, but this version can play a lot more games.Regardless, I enjoy it for the “cartridge†games a bit but mainly to have the old classics you can buy and download and play anytime on a plain, hotel, or when the wife is watching a show I don’t want too lol. Older Mario’s, donkey Kong’s, Zelda, poker games, etc.

this item deserve full 5 star , but the item arrive to me inside a box bigger than the original new 2ds xl box, and nothing inside the big box to hold the original box ?the good news is the original box look great and nothing on it , but I am not going to open the box or use the 2ds so I do not know if the device working or not , anyway I will keep it with my collection
