This novel introduces many popularcharacters and sets the stage for theclan invasion. But who are these super warriors? Can they be stopped? These are questions that will blow yourmind away while reading this book.I read it 5 times!!
Aleksandr P Reminsky –
If you want to truly appreciate the Battletech universe, you need to know where it all began. Both this trilogy and the “Warrior” trilogy (also by Micheal A Stackpole) are absolutely essential for any half-decent Battletech collection. Without spoiling it too much, this book is part one in a trilogy that explains how the Clan’s arrival caught the Inner Sphere completely by surprise, how Phelan Kell/Ward came to be who he is, how prince Victor Hanse Davion-Steiner earned his reputation as a legend, how the Clans were stopped (temporarily), and how the Wolf-clan split. With so many vital plot points in the ongoing saga, this whole trilogy is essential. Even better, Stackpole is, and always has been, a good writer, so you won’t be dissapointed.
G sanderson –
This book is a great read lots of action and a great storyline set in the battletech universe. A good start to the trilogy .
Travis –
If you read battletech you MUST read Stackpole.
Chris Gunter –
Great game
Kiro –
Aside from Stackpole’s continued mistaken belief that Fusion Engines explode, this is an enjoyable book for all BattleTech fans, and covers the Clan Invasion from both sides of the war.
AlexieLang –
Well written story that introduces the major players for the time well. The politics are well played out and you start to get a feel for the different societies.I especially like the way Stackpole writes and describes ‘Mech combat. I’m not a particular fan of big, stompy, bots but I got a good feel for what the combat and piloting them must be like.
Kelly McQuinn –
Great series.
Garry Cooper –
Great
Happy Camper –
I first read this book over 25 years ago. Thus began my love of battle tech.Character development is great and the ritualistic scenes of the various units and soon to be clans make for great reading.
