The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a great game for a great movie. The story encompasses that of the first two movies. The action is awesome and (along with the simplicity of it) will keep you entertained for hours and hours. When I mean simplicity, I mean that anyone can pick up the controller, play the game, and have a blast doing it. The concept isn’t too difficult to grasp. You run around with a sword/daggers/axe along with your "missiles" which are bows & arrows/throwing axes and kill Sauron’s and Saruman’s orcs. There are not that many puzzles so if you are all into puzzle games, this game is probably not for you. The gameplay is very straightforward. The difficulty lies in just surviving (which makes puzzles too much of a burden) the hordes of orcs that you have to face. The enemies are varied. Sometimes the orcs (more presicely the big uruk-hai warriors) will throw their whole selves at you, broadsword and all. Sometimes they will attack from a distance with bows and arrows. Sometimes they will use speed and agility to try and dodge your defensive manuevers and strike you. The game is very entertaining. The graphics on this game are very good. The cutscenes, naturally, are even more well done. The game weaves a lot of clips from the first two movies into the inter-level sequences. I’m in a Lord of the Rings mood right now. Watching the movie, reading the book and anticipating the theatrical release of the Two Towers so I decided to check it out. Now first, this is actually quite fun, albeit in some places a little frustrating.Story: Basically this follows the beginning of Fellowship(the battle with Isildur at the base of Mount Doom) to the end of the first half of Two Towers(Helm’s Deep). Even though they may have skipped some parts story wise it follows the books greatly.Graphics: Wow. These are some great graphics. Dynasty Warriors 2 had some pretty blah backgrounds but LOADS of enemies and allies. This has maybe 10 at once to 20 but the locations look great. Plus the transition from actual movie footage to CG is near flawless.Music: They included many of the voices of the movie so that’s always a plus. Battle cries, swords and other good stuff is featured. The music is great and keeps the scene moving(you don’t wanna fight 10 monsters at once with boring romantic music do you?)Gameplay: Now, button mashers beware. You might like this. You really got to pay attention to your combos. Simple pressing random buttons won’t get you far. Another problem I had is I was using Legolas and I got up to the second part of Helm’s Deep fighting an endless array of enemies and fighting out I’m a little weak. In most RPG’s you can go back to level up and get better enhancements to help. This is just "if you’re at Level 5 and you barely have enough skills to con.

You’ll be blown away from the opening sequence to the final showdown at helm’s deep. The graphic is one of the best I’ve ever seen on the PS2, and the control is fluid and easily controlled. The muscial score from the movie is ported brilliantly, adding much to the sense of drama, and the added voices from the Actors playing the characters on the movie gave the game an authenticity that’s not just a ‘gee-whiz’ feature.The transition sequence found on the cinematics has to be seen in action to be truly appreciated, although at times I was thrown off guard as the game starts seamlessly after the cinematics.The one problem (minor) I had was the confusion of trying to find my character in midst of 20 – 30 enemies and allies. The only option is to just keep throwing off combos so you can see where you are at (there’s a bright flash of light when you sucessfully finish a combo move).Game is on the easy side (even on the hardest difficulty level), but might be just me.

My little bro got this game for Christmas and complained cuz he could not beat the Octapuss level and i gave this game a shot and beat it within 6 hours and loved every minute of it. The game has good graphics and nice scenes taken from the actual movie that work great with the game. There are only 3 characters to choose from which is an alright feature. The only thing that confused me was playing in the beginning of the game when you play actually before the first lord of the rings and into the last part of the first movie then finally after those missions you start to move into the second movie which is where it all gets very exciting and adrenaline pumping! At some points though the enemies seem overwhelming and takes you at least 2 to 3 tries to beat a level. There are upgrades available for the characters with advance combat skills that you can buy and more health and stronger weapons which is a huge plus. With the 3 characters makes it fun to go back through the whole game and play with them because each has different manuevers and different weapons wich makes it very replayable. With some time and effort and sweating hands this game is very fun, playable, and well worth the money.

This game is reallyyy fun! You can play every level with Legolas, Gimli or Aragorn! And a secret character. You’ll fight bosses and millions of orcs. you can also choose which new move or what you want to buy with your experiance. The levels arnen’t easy but not that hard. If the first game wasn’t that good(I never got the first game) the sequal’s awsome. the gme’s short but loads of fun. If like lord of the rings movies and books this game is for you!

Hey. I just got done with the level Helm’s Deep(Third Part). For those of you who don’t have a clue about what I just said, Helm’s Deep is the last three levels of the game. ANYways, to give you an easy review, I’ll start from the beginning. You start of at Mordor as Isildor. It’s kind of like a traing level where you fight a few Orcs. When you done with the level a cutseen shows. You go into the mountain of Mordor and decide not to throw the ring into the place where it was forged. After that you go to many other places like Weathertop, Moria, Amon Hen, Rohan, ect. After the levels of Mordor and Weathertop, before each level, you can choose to be Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli. You fight a great number of Orcs, Goblins, Uri-Kai, and bosses like the Watcher of the Water, the Cave Troll, Lurtz(the leader Uri-Kai that kills Boromir), and more. And now, for the info on the graphics and my results. The graphics are incredible! I mean, when have you ever seen so much detail in a sort of game like that? And when have you ever seen objects and objects(I’m talking about Orcs and ect.) coming into the screen without a flaw, glitch, of it momentarily freezing up? Now, for the rating9/10 A great game, great graphics, and leaves you felling like you are The Fellowship of the Ring!

graphics are the best that the PS2 has to offer. gameplay is great as well. Even though this game is titled The Two Towers, you get to go through events that happened in The Fellowship of the Ring. The only set back I find is that it is only one player and you play alone without help from the rest of the fellowship during mst of the game. But grerat game nonetheless

This is an awsome game! This game is perfect for any fan of the movie series. this game easily blows the Fellowship OfThe Ring out of the water. The game is very similar to Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3. You simply pick to play as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli. You then go through a level normally killing about 300 enemies and face one huge boss at the end. Each level (17 in all) has a boss at the end. The bosses are very easy to defeat if you know the correct way of beating them. Each one requires a different strategy. The game has very good graphics, some of the best I have seen on the PS2 I might add. Once you beat the level you are awarded experience points, that you can use to purchase combos, new axes or bows, or even extra armor.The only downside however is the fact that you can beat the game with one character in about 6 hours. So 3X6=18 hours of gameplay. But you can play longer to unlock new scenes from the film and interveiws with the cast. Overall, it is a must buy for any fan!

This game is for those who want to add strategy to their typical action game. Learning some of the combos can be a bit tough, but once you get em going, you are unstoppable. The best moves to use once you buy them are the Linked Moves (Goblin Bane, Orc Bane, Bane of Saruman). Once you have those, you’re guranteed a great level. The later levels, especially Hornburg Courtyard, and near impossible without those and the Rising Attack. The extras in the game are great. Interviews with Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortenson, John-Rhys Davies, Sir Ian McKellan, and Peter Jackson are great. The tidbits from the film are wonderful too. Buy it if you’re into strategy/action/roleplaying.

This is quite possibly the best movie to game title I’ve ever played. The action is great, and I absolutely love it when the action seemlessly morphs from the movie to the game. Its wonderful. The game just screams "cool".The only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 was the fact that it is pretty short. However, there are many instances for replay. The fact that you can choose your missions from a selection screen, rather than going straight through. For example, you may be up to mission 7, but you want to play mission 3 again, to get a better ranking. Do it! Also, for most missions you can play it as one of three characters. Therefore you can play the same mission from three different perspectives, more replay value!Any fans of the movie, the book, or even the genre that the game has been made under, will adore this game. Its a must-buy title period, but for Lord of The Rings purists, its almost a crime not to buy it.

Those who have been burned by Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring for the PS2 should quickly forget that wretch of a game and give a good look to Electronic Arts’ Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. You get to play as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli as you fight your way through 11 levels of pure hack & slash action. The first half of the game is based on events in the first installment of the series, with the second half featuring events in the second installment. Graphic wise the game is top notch, these are some of the best graphics to be seen on the PS2 yet. Character models look like they’re film counterparts and the animation is silky smooth. Slowdown is minimal at best, even when there are hordes of enemies on screen at once. Control is tighter than I could have ever expected, the easy targeting system and easy to execute chain attacks are very well done and simple to execute. The action moves at a very fast pace, so fast that you might be able to finish the game in one or two sittings; this alone is the game’s biggest flaw but there are a few extras. Judging by your level by level performance, you can unlock extra features like a survival mode and even see video interviews with members of the film’s cast. All in all, if your a fan of the license (or old school action games like Golden Axe) and you were burned by the PS2 Fellowship of the Ring, check out EA’s Two Towers, you won’t regret it.

When I first heard that two Lord of the Rings games were coming out, naturally I wanted to get the RPG. Once the two games came out, though, it was very clear that this game was far superior.In this game, there isn’t too much of a story. It’s pretty linear hack and slash. You run around as either Aragorn, Gimli, or Legolas, cutting down Orcs, Trolls, and other evil creatures from the realm of Middle-Earth. You gain experience points which you can use to unlock combos and special moves, as well as upgrades to weapons and health. The different characters have different strenghts, of course. Gimli is far more proficient with his battle axe than with his ranged weapon, while with Legolas it is quite the opposite. Gimli has health upgrades quite often, while Legolas does not. Legolas gets bow upgrades all the time, while Gimli seldom does. Aragorn is a mix of the two, the balanced fighter. The controls are smooth for all characters, and you can either use the analog sticks or the button pads, which can prove to be quite a bonus.The graphics are excellent. The backgrounds and environments are quite nice looking. The textures are good, and the characters are all done wonderfully and move naturally. Unfortunately, most of their faces look very horrible, especially Gimli. I don’t even think Legolas has ears. If he does, they’re glued quite securely to his head. Other than the faces, everything you’ll see will look good. Well, there is one video in Balin’s Tomb when the troll comes in.

One of the better games I’ve bought off retrolio. Condition was pretty good. There was a dark line going down it when you look on the back of the disc. Thought it was a crack, other than that, plays marvelously for now

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a game that’s easy to love. The graphics are gorgeous; the sound is amazing; and frankly, you get the choice of being three super-cool characters from the film: Aragorn, Gimli, or Legolas.The game plays fairly short if you master your way through it with a single character. But once you finish with one, you’ll be hopping to go at it again with the other two. Each character has a unique fighting style based on the character’s abilities in the films: Legolas is fast with the arrows, Gimili is slower but stronger, and Aragorn falls somewhere in the middle, wielding his sword. The actors from the film lend their voices to the game, adding a nice spice of authenticity.The name of the game is somewhat deceiving; you don’t actually get into scenes of The Two Towers until you pass such levels as Balin’s Tomb from the first film. Only about halfway through the game do you get into Two Towers territory, and while I have no problem with being able to fight cool battles from the first film, it makes me wonder… couldn’t we have a few more levels in this game actually dealing with the second film?One of the pleasures of the game are the extras you open up as you work your way through, including interviews with the cast and crew of the Lord of the Ring films. Also, once you reach skill level 10 with your character, secret levels begin to open up, including the Tower of Ornthac, a kind of survivor mode where you try to work your way through 20 level.

I’m a HUGE fan of Lord of the Rings so I bought both games the moment they game out. The other Lord of the Rings game is based on the book, and just on the FIRST book. It’s VERY short and a puzzle-adventure. In comparison, The Two Towers is based on the first TWO MOVIES, NOT the books. And it is a straight button-bashing fighting game. The up side of both of these games is that they’re great Aragorn-fun. The down side of both of these games is that both are WAY TOO SHORT.At least in this one you really CAN play all three characters. After the first two levels (a prologue and Weathertop) you can now choose, on each level, to be Aragorn, Gimli or Legolas. Each character has his own fighting style, from Gimli’s little battle-tankness to Legolas’ great double-sword action, to Aragorn’s lean ranger fighting. Yes, I love Aragorn’s fighting style :)This game, being based on the movie, has TONS of detail from the movie. They worked with the actual actors for the voices, and got their hands on the actual movie models for the game sets. You can see the attention to detail. There are all sorts of ‘special features’ where you can watch interviews with the actors and see photos from the second movie. So it’s sort of like an interactive preview of Movie 2!It is SHORT thought. You can run the game through on a character in about 5 hours. Then you just run through again as the other 2. There’s a secret character and level, but that’s about it. There are no puzzles, no quests, it’s all just b.

I just got it in the mail last night. Needless to say, I was up until 11:30 whoopin’ up on some orc aiss. The real actors supply the real voices for the video game, and the characters are spot on. Well except for Gimli. He looks nothing like he does in the movie. He looks like a gremlin or something, but other then him, everyone looks relatively the same. You have the option to play as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli. Legolas if the fastest, and he uses his double knives, Gimli is much slower but he can take out like three orcs in one swing of his axe. He also has his throwing axes. I’m not very good at those yet. Aragorn is a mix of the two, combining both speed and power. So far I’ve beaten the wraiths at Weathertop, and the water monster at the gates of Moria. I can’t beat that stupid cave troll though, well not yet anyway. This game has everything. It’s time to put GTA: Vice City on the shelf. Even the music during game play is great. I wish I was playing it right now. I highly recomend this game if you’re a fan of the books and movies.

This game is awesome! On my gamming list, it ranks a 8th place. It is a very fun game to play, you get upgrades on attacks learn lots of combos to kill Orcs, explore vast lands of Middle Earth, get to see some sneak peaks from the upcomming movie: The Two Towers, see actor reviews on how the game was made, and you also get to choose between 3 characters: Strider (Aragorn), Legolas, and Gimili, instead of playing as just one like other games. There is only one thing bad about the game, you get bored after the first 7 levels of the game. You keep on killing and killing the same Orcs over and over again. Thats the only downside to the game. If you like action games that keep you in the actual action, then this is the game for you! It is a great game!Remember: YOU WILL UNITE OR YOU WILL FALL
