Gerald Rowe –
I have been looking for this for awhile now and now I finally have it.

Love the series. Great game

While this isn’t the same as the classic Lufia games, it is still fun it it’s own right. While not keeping in traditional game play, the combat and other aspects of the game offer a different perspective to what is a more obscure series. Overall pretty solid!

One of the few quality 3D Action-Adventure RPGs on the Nintendo DS, this game is a sort-of remake of Lufia II for the story, but you will be hoping around and fighting monsters in a 3D action environment. You have a small variety of heroes at your disposal, each with their own abilities, that will get you through levels and bring a certain level of tactics to the field. The game does get a tad "grindy", meaning that you will have to fight monsters over and over to get stronger, but they added an option for people who don’t like to do this, enabling you on death to revive from a checkpoint but from a higher level than before so you can keep playing. But it’s purely optional, so if you DO like to level grind, then you still have that option.Wholly recommended by me.

Great!
Old School Gamer –
I wasn’t originally all that excited about this game once I heard it has switched genres and become an action rpg, but I knew I wanted it regardless. The last two gameboy Lufia installments were just horrible and I have longed for a new(good) one ever since Lufia II’s genius was unleashed upon us. For those who don’t know, this is a remake of the original Lufia: Rise of the Sinistrals which was a traditional turn-based jrpg circa the SNES years redone completelly as an action rpg like the Ys series or any other game spawned due to Ys’ and Zelda’s influence.First and foremost the story hasn’t really changed. They kept the plot the same but changed the narrative mostly and even some of the characters in terms of their personalities. For the most part I’m happy with them, though I could do without the crazy doctor(I don’t recall him seeming so infantile in the original). Also, no longer does one travel the world map, you simply choose a destination and arrive there. This seems to be the trend these days because so many who hate the jrpg genre complain about it and the random encounters that come with it. Is it a bad thing? Not really, but it shortens the gameplay time significantly down by about 5 hours.Likewise, dungeons are obviously different because everything is A) now in 3-d which allow for multiple levels in a field and B)the puzzles can be much more interactive and creative as such. One of the major things that was so great about the Lufia series were the puzzles. This g.

carol riquelme –
Excellent game. I wanna play the original version (snes), but this remake was very good
Michael Hamilton –
fun game, I love the sequel also, rpg games are my favorite

The only other Lufia game I played was Lufia 2, back on the snes. I loved that game, this game… not so much. While it’s fun to playthrough once, the game expects you to play through it once again to unlock hidden dialogue and other small distractions. A poor framerate gets in the way of successfully pulling off battle modes, and the platforming is sometimes hard to judge because of the camera angle.
