I’ve played every single Lumines game since the original, which I got on launch day in, what was it now, 2004? It was getting towards the end of high school at the time, and I played tons of this game beneath the desk, head to head with other players who also had a PSP, peer pressuring folks into buying it and consequently losing to me. I just picked up a Vita recently, and figured I’d pick this up.At this point, when I pick up a Lumines game, I have some expectations, I suppose – specifically, in regard to the music/score/soundtrack. For one, there’s always gotta be those crappy pop songs in there, the Gwen Stefanis and whatever else that Q? includes for… Reasons. Maybe there are Normals out there playing these games that just love pop music, I’m honestly not sure, but I never got it, and always disliked those levels immensely. I also expect there to be a large percentage of the game’s music that is original and scored, probably by Takayuki Nakamura or H. Ueda if my memory serves me correctly. (To their credit, I did really like a lot of those songs, particularly Urbanization from Lumines I.) That all being said, this game is pretty much the great defiance to my expectations. The soundtrack here is amazing. Seriously, the title doesn’t lie or really set up any false expectations. This truly is an Electronic Symphony, with the likes of Underworld and Orbital. BT’s “Embracing The Sunshine” is in here, for goodness’ sake. When the first few notes of that level hit my aural can.

My favorite Lumines game so far. There is a lot of debate about which Lumines game is the everyone’s favorite but this is my personal favorite so far. I play it mostly on my PlayStation TV with a PS3 controller and it is the best looking Lumines game so far, (better than Lumines Supernova imo). It also has great music and gameplay. I like the new 3D effect that the blocks have and so far the skins I have unlocked are very diverse. A must have for any Lumines or Puzzle Game fan.

kids and parents will love it. fits teens and adults more than kids. Recommended.

I kept telling myself to never get a puzzle game when I got a PS Vita because it would seriously cut off all other progress I have with other games. Got it at a good price, and well… I haven’t played any other games in weeks. Thanks a lot, Lumines! The music insanely blends in well to the gameplay. This is a must play with headphones. You’ll completely lose yourself through the playlist. I miss the old songs from the older Lumines, though, like Lights and Heavenly Star (haven’t checked yet if they’re available as DLC).

  5. B-Man Home Skill

I have been a small fan of the Lumines series since the 2006 or 2007. I always enjoyed the games but never would have considered myself a big time fan. This game seems to have pushed me over the edge. What an amazing game. It’s a little confusing at first… there is a lot going on all over the screen… but when you just accept it and let yourself get absorbed by the music and the visuals, it’s a real exciting experience. I highly recommend this puzzle game.

  6. Casey

This has quickly become one of my favorite Vita games…Highly addictive and totally fun. I have played previous versions of this game, but it truly shines on the Vita

  7. Guillermo Betancourt

This game is a most have for any PSVita owner. Is really entertaining and promise hours of fun. You won’t find it anywhere else at such of a lower price.

  8. Tyler Van Dresar

I’ve never played a Lumines game before so if you haven’t either here’s how it works. Its kind of like Tetris only instead of trying to get whole horizontal lines you try to match the colored blocks in groups of squares or rectangles, then a continuously sweeping line eliminates those groups. The blocks move down from the top (on beat with the background music that changes every few minutes) and you can move a rotate the blocks freely. The soundtrack is really awesome (especially if you’re into tecno/electronic type of music) and the game is super addicting. I highly recommend it to everyone who has a Vita.

  9. pitchaj

GREAT PUZZLE GAME. I loved the first lumines on the psp. The second one, I didnt like it. Largely due to the annoying gwen steffani song in it. This game is as good as the first. Plays great on my ps tv.

  10. Diggles

More addicting that blue crystal meth. Don’t let Heisenberg know I said that. Seriously, I paid like $8 for this thing and it was a helluva deal.
