This game is addictive! It’s great for short moments of boredom as it works well in 5-10 minute increments. Reminds me of Tetris with the frenetic pacing and intense music and visuals.

Lumines deserves a lot more popularity than it has. It’s incredibly fun and has a surprising amount of depth considering the simplicity of the core concept of the game.Compared to previous Lumines games, Lumines Electronic Symphony manages to keep the core gameplay intact while expanding the amount of levels and content. The addition of the new shuffle block and avatar abilities adds another level of depth and strategy and makes longer play sessions possible, all without sacrificing or negatively affecting the Lumines experience people have enjoyed since PSP.Overall, if you’ve never tried Lumines and have a PS Vita, you should try this game out. If you have liked Lumines in the past and are wondering if you’ll like this one, wonder no more, this game is great!

One of my favorite games for the Vita. For this price you will not be disappointed, worth the purchase. I got it for myself early on and recently purchased a copy for my husband.

As a fan of the original Lumines on the PSP, there was a lot the makers could’ve done to alienate existing fans from the game. This is not one of them. Yes, the music has obviously changed but the mechanism is still the same and after almost a decade after the original PSP version, this game is still as easy to pick up as ever.It can easily keep you occupied for over an hour especially when you really get good at it, trying to survive the onslaught of the coloured blocks dropping down from the sky. If you enjoyed games such as Tetris, this is the perfect evolution – try it, you won’t be disappointed. It is easy to pick up but you’ll be playing it for years as you try to master it.

Lumines is at the top of the puzzle game list.Using music to augment the same-ol’ “connect 4 or more to remove them from the screen” puzzle formula is just fantastic. There are a few new things that significantly change the Lumines experience. You can now have a power-up on reserve for when things get real hairy, and the character you select determines which power-up that might be. This is great, and allows for much longer games and less frustration. If you like puzzle games, pick this up, for sure. The only thing that’s wrong with this iteration of Lumines is the lack of multiple paths in “Voyage” mode. You’ll always start from the same puzzle and progress through the levels in the same way. The experience is always different, sure, and the music is great, but it gets a little monotonous after 2 playthroughs. You can create a playlist and play through those, but that can only last so long.I would’ve been totally thrilled had they included the 2-path system they came up with for Lumines: Live! That keeps it fresh every time.Nonetheless, this is a fantastic puzzle game, and if you like music, and who doesn’t, you’ll go nuts for Lumines: Electronic Symphony. If it kicks your patootie the first time, give it a chance to grow on you. You’ll like it.

Lumines is a puzzle game that draws from Tetris with a heavy focus on the music and themes for different ‘skins’ (levels) in the game.As you play you progress to different skins which each have a song and visual theme, along with speed for the blocks to fall at. I recommend Lumines to puzzle fans looking for a game that is good in short bursts or long sessions, but never requires a lot of commitment to enjoy. It’s easy to casually have fun with, or you can play a lot and go for a high score.

The game is entertaining! I played the PSP version and loved it. Music can be really catchy but it’s not my kind of music genre. I recommend buying it for cheap though as IMO it loses replay value quickly. Usually I don’t play using online features or using continues when losing in Voyage. I say if you can find this game for $20-25 or less get it!

You either love it or hate it. It was my favorite puzzle game on the original PSP. Everything is just better now. Still the same awesome game underneath.

Dare I say Vita’s best game? At its current retrolio price of $10, I’m going to say ‘yes’ this is the best game on Vita. Now before you flip out and say what about Uncharted, here me out. I believe the Vita’s overall goal is to deliver high quality games with console quality graphics and sound that deliver short and concise gameplay experiences that one can quickly jump in and out of off on the fly. Lumines: Electronic Symphony delivers just that!Lumines: ES is just a puzzle game. The goal is to create similar colored blocks, with 2×2 blocks being the simplest shape that earns you points. Think Tetris with the creation of lines, however thats where the similarity between Tetris and Lumines ends. Lumines ES is just as much about the music as the blocks themselves. There is a vertical line that passes from left to right across the screen; your goal is to create blocks which are erased as the vertical scrolling line passes over the blocks. The movement of the vertical line (called the time line) is dependent on the song of the stage. As the tempo of the song changes so does movement of the vertical line. The tempo on some songs changes drastically so it can throw off your game. Now for a more traditional breakdown of the gameGAMEPLAYThe gameplay is very addicting. It appeals to casual gamers, Facebook mini-game lovers and hardcore gamers the Vita is aimed at. The game modes are voyage, zone, duel, stopwatch, and playlist. I’ll only talk about voyage as it’s the main gam.
