First, I just want to say that I received the Platinum Hits version when I ordered this. This version has all of the content packs, so if you have the option, this might be the best route.I thought the game was phenomenal. Its plays like GTA but in the 1940s and 50s. You cant go wrong here if you love the Rockstar style open world games. This also has one of the best stories I have played in a while. I felt close to the characters as we progressed through the story. There are also some very surprising twists and turns, taking you through time and different settings. In short, the combat is great, the story is great, the missions are fun, and things are kept fresh and interesting. I loved it.Dont let the negative reviews fool you, I did not find anything terribly wrong with the game. Its perhaps a bit of the short side, but that’s about it. I had no issues with driving as some reviewers had. This is actually one of the best driving games I have played. If you own a 360, you need to play this game, its a steal at 20 bucks.

Mafia 2 was a good game overall I encountered no problems while playing. it was fun and had an engaging storyline. Its an open game world but is also very mission guided I found the selection of guns and cars to make the game even more fun. It is obviously not a game for kids it has a lot of swearing, nudity, and blood and violence. The only problem I have with it is there isn’t just an open game-play mode so unless you want to go through the missions again there’s not a lot to do beyond that. I finished the main storyline fairly quickly so for me it was worth more of a rent then a buy but I was excited for it and it was fun so it does have a some fair re-playability.

This game would make a better movie then a video game. Not saying it’s not worth your while. There really is an excellent storyline in this game. The map that comes with this game may deceive you. Even though there seems to be a lot to do in the map, there really isn’t. most of what you can do is directed towards your automobile. This game takes place in the mid 1940s through the early 1950s, 1945 and 1951 to be exact However in both years you will hear music on the radio that does not exist yet, and you will see cars driving on the road that haven’t been produced yet. I really think the producers of this game could have done a little more research before plotting out the whole game. I believe that they mainly what they focused on was the story, and they did a good job on that. With all that said, it still is fun to experience what really is 1940 something and 1950 something.

Great fun. Lots of action but the choice to shoot-um-up or race them. This is not my usual as I like slower, build your avatar games like Fallout more often but like the Mass Effect series this one keeps you coming back and making you plan attacks and use strategy to win. I have really enjoyed it.

I’ve waited a while before reviewing this game, because I wanted to have a full experience with it and I must say, this game is amazing. You play as Vito Escaleta, a war vet going back home for a while (or not), I won’t ruin/spoil it for you.Anyway, the game goes back to its roots, if you played the original Mafia, you’ll feel right at home with this game, controls have been improved and the game mechanics are simply the best. Graphics are top notch, the term “attention to detail” would be an understatement, from the buildings to the water line, everything is simply beautiful; every building has been carefully designed and colored to match the era.Driving is easy and fun, there’s 3 radio stations playing hits by Bo Diddly, Eddie Cochran,Dean Martin and many others, the music is different in parts of the game, depending on what year it is. Also, while you’re driving, you’ll notice the physics of the game, everything from the characters reaction to sudden stops, etc. Also, there’s speed limits and one must be careful, specially around street cops and cop cars. You will see car damage and you will run out gas, things like these, make the game that much more realistic. The car models/makes are not actual, but you can see their reference to the actual cars in the era. Why didn’t the game creators use real car brands? I couldn’t say, but I can say this, it didn’t matter to me.If you played the original Mafia, you’ll appreciate an episode/mission in Mafia II that will take you back t.

This game is pretty good and is worth a try simply because of the game play and storyline. I took away a stay because the gmae felt really short after taking a bit to pick up.
