Preliminary Review: Awesome, affordable, and easy to use. After setting it up, which was fairly easy, I plugged it in and set it to charge and it started working perfectly. From the pictures I took, you can see there is an LED controller pops up with a color. Easy to determine the battery state. A few people mentioned issues about charging it but not fully charging and getting hot. Well I haven’t experienced those issues, but I can say make sure the battery is placed in correctly, or the charging contacts won’t line up correctly, causing heat damage and fire hazards. See the pictures. I will update in time after serious usage.EDIT: 12/29/14, no problems whatsoever. Xbox Controllers stay charged, don’t get hot, and get used heavily. Unsurprisingly, my brother plays my Xbox alot, free live since I pay for it, and free games too! So when I get home, we swap off and it goes a full day without me putting it back on the stand when I’m done. I don’t know where the charge is after that of course, but its never shut off on me. I gotta say as well… the battery pack is flush. It is smooth and not bulgy, it blends well with the ergonomics of the controller itself. No heaviness or awkward bulkiness. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a charger. It charges well, it looks good, keeps things neat, and affordable.EDIT: 1/2/15, after a few extra hours of good time fun on my Xbox, due to the holiday season, I noticed my battery would die fairly quickly. After further inspection.

I have had this item for 360 for years and it has worked very well. So when I bought an XB1, this was high on my list. Works as intended, no problems whatsoever. My only complaint is that unlike the 360 version, there’s a bright white Nyko logo lit on the device at all times. The last thing I need is another light in my entertainment center letting me know something is merely plugged in. A bit of electrical tape later and it’s mostly taken care of, aside from the slight bleed into one of the controller status areas. Other than that, fantastic product.

I bought this because the Xbox 360 version has served us very well for many years. For the most part, this is the same charger, with a slightly different look. But, it’s still sleek and non-obtrusive in a nice living room. My only gripe about it is that the controllers don’t settle on it as easily as the 360 ones did, and easily come to rest just to the side of where they should be, resulting in no charging. This is because the battery compartment on a 360 controller juts out from the back of the controller, so the 360 charging station had nicely-formed depressions that the battery settles in, even with just casually dropping the controller onto the charging station. The Xbox One charger doesn’t have those nice depressions to catch the controller and hold it in place, because the battery compartment on a One controller is flush with the back of the controller. The only thing the charger’s electrical contacts catch on is the small hole in the battery cover that exposes the battery’s contacts, so your placement of the controller has to be a little more determined and precise. Having said that, it only takes a couple times of realizing your controller’s not charged for you to learn how to do it properly, and make sure the controller is settled on the contacts before you walk away.Overall, I’m satisfied with the purchase, especially when I think about how many AA batteries I’ve avoided buying. Would buy it again, as I prefer its look to those of other brands.

We have the same stand for our 360 controllers (which we still use), and are happy with this one. A number of reviewers have complained about the difficulty of getting the controllers to actually connect with the base unit. It’s true that it’s a little finicky, but to us, that’s about it – it is what it is and has not been any real burden. Believe me, these controllers take a lot of juice (more so than the 360 controllers) and having a recharger unit is a lifesaver! We were going through tons a batteries before – way too costly. So we highly recommend this recharger.

We have been using rechargeable retrolio ni-mh batteries for 2 years for our controllers and while the still work well, having to take them in and out of the controllers to charge them, often times left the batteries dead. This charger is very simple to use and the batteries popped in easily. If you are looking for a nice compact charging system, I recommend this one.

I received this item yesterday evening and so far it’s probably the best accessory that I’ve purchase in a while. I don’t know about you, but the Xbox One course from the first generation editions tends to lose it’s connectivity to the controller after repeated use. So charging the controller becomes tedious especially while you are playing a game on the system. This charge base eliminates the need to charge the controller through the cord. The Nyko batteries hold a charge for at least 9 hours if not more. It charges the battery fairly quickly between gaming sessions. I highly recommend this as an inexpensive way to eliminate the need for the dreaded control cord.

Amazing sale on these puppies last week, came quickly and worked FAST to charge my controllers. I had to do a double take because it charged both controllers in under 10 mins. I double checked all the plus and turned on my Xbox One and low and behold, a fully charged controller. Great set up, but you must remove your HeadSet puck before charging.Does not take up much space at all.

This charging station absolutely works! I don’t know what the problem is that others are having… The battery pack goes in the controller, the controller goes into the charging dock… easy. However, the controller has to sit just right or it won’t fall into place to begin charging. A simple indicator shows when the charge has begun. Also, it seems the batteries are never fully topped off… at least, that’s what m Xbox console says. Finally, you cannot charge a battery pack without it being attached to a controller unless you are MacGyver

This Nyko charge base for Xbox One is doing a great job so far. I’ve had my 360 Nyko charge base for 4 years and it’s still going strong. I’m hoping the Xbox One version will have the same longevity. The base itself is sturdy and well made. I do have some concern with the ease of putting the rechargeable batteries in the controller. I worried it might break. The thin plastic back was not as sturdy, when compared with the 360 version.I’m satisfied with this purchase overall and hoping the base will last as long as the 360 base.

For around or even under $20 for a charging dock WITH 2 rechargeable batteries this is a great deal. I have only had it a couple days now and so far everything is working fine. Until you get used to how the controllers seat in the dock you might have to fool with them a little, but after a couple times you can tell when they are seated correctly. If they are not seated correctly they could look like they are going to charge then just stop and you have to put them in again.
