Mercenaries 2 is probably one of my favorite, most underappreciated games in the last few years and is still a great game today. And for $20? Everyone should have this game whether you like third-person action games or not.Pros: Mercenaries 2 is like mixing the movie The Transporter or XXX: State of the Union with a Mountain Dew commercial. If you liked games like GTA: San Andreas, Crackdown or Just Cause, you’ll love this game with its over-the-top action and insane explosions.Taking place in 2010 Venezuala, Mercenaries 2 has enough story to get you started and pointed in the right direction where you’re inclined to finish the game, but doesn’t flood over you with little, minute details like other games in the genre (ahem, GTA IV). Instead of trying to impress girls or make friends, you’re given free reign of practically everything: tanks, motorcycles, various cars, helicopters, speed boats and more. And the game lets you do whatever you want, too. One of the most fun things about this game is that you can ramp a flaming car off of a mountain, jump out before it explodes and land in a military base only to hi-jack a tank and start demolishing everything. Honestly, I can not say this enough, this game is just plain fun.The game may not be the most visually impressive, even brand-new this game felt last-gen, but Pandemic (the creators of the game) really stepped things up when it comes down to destructibility. Everything explodes or falls apart in an extremely realistic way an.

this game is really fun to play. The plot is far from top notch, trying to get revenge from some guy who shot you in the butt. But the plot is what fuels the fun. Without it, it wouldn’t be fun. The gameplay is kinda easy, but still very fun. Piloting helicopters and motorcycles is very awesome. I had a great time playing it through a second time. It’s like an arcade version of GTA. I like the online coop feature. It integrates seamlessly with the single player.Definitely get this game, it’s dirt cheap these days.

I love this game, one of my favorite Xbox 360 games.

Purchased sometime back for my Older Grandson. I did not play it but I am gathering that he enjoyed it.

My girlfriend and I love playing this game. Only down side is if you didn play it before the EA servers were shut down, then it’s very tricky to play online. The game would freeze at the menu every time we started it up. Found out it’s because it’s trying to find our EA accounts, but since they don’t exist, it just locks up. So we did some Google reading and found out if you somehow use another EA game that still works online, it’ll get Mercenaries to use that EA account and it’ll start to work. Kind of weird and kind of a pain, but it works fine online now and is very fun.

Mecennaries 2 is a far from perfect game but if you like GTA, Just Cause or other sandbox style games it should give you hours of fun. I never played Mercenaries 1, but I did play Just Cause and liked it even though it probably had more bugs than M2. There are many vehhicles that you can eventually use, many people to fight, races and other minigame type challenges.however, I did get frustrated with the game somewhat because some things that you must do in order to equip yourself for proper gameplay are not completely spelled out. You need to keep your fuel supply up, by taking from enemy bases, to fuel your partners so they can supply you with weapons deliveries and airstrikes. this was not immediately clear to me, I had to stumble across that. I’m kind of a ADHD player so I don’t always listen to cut scenes and AI team members drone on about possibly important game tips.overall the graphics and gameplay are nice. I think its worth full price new. there is some funny dialog. and the game has good replayability I LIKE THAT ALOT!MIKE

I can be quite picky about video games and this one certainly isnt perfect. Id give it 2 stars each for the below average animation and storyline. BUT IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!! Its like GTA4 only better! 6 out of 5 stars for the amount of fun. The enjoyment you will get from playing this game will make up for the animation and other stuff.

  8. Rogue American

This game was alot better than the first and was way better than I expected it to be. Its not the longest game, but who care? Blow stuff up! One thing I noticed is theres LOTS of bugs. And the game will freeze during connection to thier server if your connection isnt fast enough. But overall the game was fun, I didnt unlock everything but I did beat it and nuked pretty much everything. Yes NUKED. Rent it, buy it, have fun.

    Good game

Admittedly, I was a big Mercs 1 fan. I spent a lot of time on the PS2 playing it, and I liked the open world, drive it, fly it, blow it up style of game play. Mercs 2 takes this up several notches: in 1, not everything was truly available to use/destroy, but in Mercs 2, there is very little in the world that isnt usable/combustible.This encourages wanton destruction and chaos, which is why we play a game like this, right? Back is the tongue-in-cheek global commentary (and the characters to go with it) and the interesting balance between friend and foe. I will probably go back and play it again, siding with the United Nations instead of China just to see the different outcomes and missions.Mercs 2 doesnt encourage, as strongly as say Grand Theft Auto, driving around arbitrarily blowing stuff up, due to the high expense of realigning yourself with whoever’s building you just leveled, but you find yourself doing it anyway, and for the several days of escapist fun that this game was for me, it was a rare game that I think fully worth the price paid.
