Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is one of my favorite games and what got me hooked into the series.Monster Hunter 3U does not disappoint! The changes from 3 to 3U can be found here:Pros:1. Excellent game for those interested in getting into the series. The slope of the learning curve has been dampened to allow players new to the series to get fully acclimated to the mechanics before stepping up the difficulty.2. The pacing is great and most “things” are explained in game, allowing new players to easily reference subject matters that they are unsure about.3. The hit boxes, weapons, and overall mechanics of the game have been polished quite nicely! More detail about such changes are beyond this scope of this review and can be investigated further in the provided link to the wiki.4. This game is absolutely gorgeous on the 3DS, taking full advantage of the 3DS capabilities. One may expect long load times or frame rate issues for a game based on a Wii/WiiU title but neither is experienced on the 3DS. The game is fluid, reacts quickly to the user input, and looks even better in 3D.Cons:1. While there is plenty of way to customize, I wish armor skills were spread out and diverse. You can’t mix and match as much (as say Freedom Unite)2. At the moment I’m drawing a blank on the general complaints. Essentially the rest of the complaints can be lumped together and geared toward players familiar with the series. “I wish [this] monster was in the game…”, “I wish they balanced this wea.

I have played Tri and now Ultimate 3. I was unsure about the camera controls at first but after playing the lock-on button works great for land battles…the underwater ones are a little bit more difficult but definitely manageable. A lot of new monsters and weapons to get used to. I have not had a chance to try any multiplayer on it yet and i may never get a chance to since there is no online function on it’s own. Look forward to 4 coming out with full online function.

Is it bad that my favorite part is when I can utterly destroy a monster like a puppy in a basket. From getting kicked around to turning and stomping the challenges ahead, this game is my favorite genre.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this game, ever since Monster Hunter Tri G was announced in Japan. I’ve been a fan of the Monster Hunter series since Monster Hunter Freedom for the PSP, and I’ve gotta say. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is much better than any other Monster Hunter (or any other handheld game for that matter). The amount of things to do in this game is astounding. I’m going to LITERALLY dump 1000+ hours into this one game. The only reason why I had to give it 4 stars, is because it can’t go online to play with other players, which is the funnest thing ever. Now, you are able to go online if you have a WiiU console and download an app on the WiiU that will allow you to go online.Graphics: 9/10Controls: 9/10Gameplay: 10/10Content: 10/10Lasting Appeal: 10/10Difficulty: Not for begginers, but if you love a good challenge and are willing to keep at it, this game’s made for you.Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is an immense game. There’s so much to do, and its creative and amazing monsters will keep you coming back. There is no boring part in this game. Heck, even doing simple things as mining or fishing is fun for me, mainly because there’s always a chance you’ll meet a monster that is out of your league. This game takes a loooottt of time, but with perserverence and patience, this game is the biggest, and the best, 3DS game available.

This game is really the Ultimate Monster Hunter 3. I’ve played it first as Monster Hunter Tri on Wii, but I could not play for more than two hours of the game, and I thought it did not have good controls and was kind of slow-paced.More than two years later, I decided to give it a go again on 3DS, and I must say: I’ve played for 85 hours by now and I haven’t finished the game yet (and I expect that it will take 40 hours more for me to finish it). I know it is a very old game redone several times until it became the ultimate version, but this is just amazing! A game at the same retail price as the other 3DS games with this amount of content really deserves five stars. I played without the Circle Pad Pro on my 3DS XL, and even though it looks like a game that would need the right circle pad, I assure you it is pretty easy to play without it. I’ve played for 85 hours and the lack of a right trigger was never a problem.I guess Monster Hunter is a franchise that, even though Capcom keeps making new content and re-releasing the game for the full price, it is just so much worth it that I just can’t complain about it.I’m happy that I saved my money and bought the ultimate version, instead of the previous ones. I feel like I’ve made a wise decision, and it is easily one of the best 3DS games.

Spectacular underrated game! Worthwhile price and definitely fun for any teenage/adult player. This 3ds game is a must buy, just watch videos about it!

This game was my first entry into the monster hunter series, and I am glad I bought it. Fun and challenging combat, a deep gear and upgrade system with aspects such as skills and elements, tons of content between all the monsters, quests, and weapons/ armor sets, and an overall wonderful experience. Definitely a game for the more hardcore leaning crowd due to the grinding and ever increasing difficulty but I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys RPGs.To give you an idea of the massive amount of content, I am 140 hours in and maybe only half way done with the game as a whole (just about finished the village quests). If you are a completionist then you will have plenty to do between getting all armor sets, weapons, trophies, and longest/shortest monster awards.Only issue I have with the game is that you need online resources to fully understand how damage works and to see the weapon trees.
