In my review of EA’s NBA Live 10 last year, I said it was too bad that the best from EA & 2K Sports couldn’t be combined. This game has finally done it-a hoop dream come true. With very few flaws (AI pass intercepting being the biggest culprit), I can finally say this game has the best of both worlds! Since the release of PS3 & Xbox 360, there really hasn’t been an outstanding NBA (or any basketball) game that was the “complete package.” This game is as close as it gets. There’s plenty of other five star reviews that point out all the game highlights (and virtually no letdowns), so I ‘ll make a statement for what it’s worth: If you are a serious fan of basketball, this game will be a brilliant addition to your enjoyment of the game. However, if you are a video gamer, AND a serious fan of basketball and haven’t bought (or played) this game yet, you are missing something special. GET ON IT!

This is the deepest, most fun, NBA game I’ve ever played. It has some awesome game modes, including the Jordan Challenge and street mode. When connected to Live, the rosters update daily. You can also quickly play the day’s games from the main menu. The only knock is that shooting with the shot stick is a little challenging to master. You’ll brick a bunch of shots at first, and won’t score a lot of points, but once you get used to it, the realism is great.Overall, an awesome game, and a must for NBA fans!!

I bought this game because I knew the price of it would drop since NBA2k12 was out. Before I bought this game I had played it at friends houses and they all enjoyed it, I didn’t at the time because I was not good at it. After playing this game I must say, this is by far the Best Basketball Game Ever. I will not go on any deeper into the game because it is “old” now and anyone who is reading reviews on this game now probably has a pretty good idea of the what the game is about it and how highly touted this game is. Nonetheless this was a great buy to me. ******Also since the NBA is currently in a lockout, NBA 2k12 rosters are the same NBA2k11s updated rosters, so this is just as good as NBA 2k12 (maybe even better), which I eventually bought.Pros*Great Mechanics*Great Presentation*Beautiful Graphics*Sound builds NBA and Playoff Atmosphere PerfectlyCons* No Cons Great Game******* SIDE NOTE: The depth of this game can be unbearable if you playing against and experienced player. There is slightly deep learning curve to this game. The difference between this game and NBA2k10 is like water and wine.

NBA 2K11 is the best basketball game on the current market. My rating would be 10 out of 10. The game incluldes NBA legends such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. The introduction to the game is unforgetable by having the introduction to the starting line up of the Chicago Bulls (Michael Jordan Era). I use to be a huge NBA Live fan and would not give any other NBA game a chance. One day i notice that NBA Live referee’s were not calling traveling, players going out of bounce, and fouls. The game had glitches and seemed very unreal. The season was 08′ or ’09. I switched to NBA 2K series. The game is as real as it gets. Each player is identical to real life players by signature moves and real life movement. NBA 2K11 is the best of all basketball games. One thing missing in the NBA 2K11 game is the real life footage before each basketball game (NBA 2K9 has it). I hope to see it back in the near future.

I love NBA Basketball more than any pro sport. However, I tend to have more fun playing NFL or even NHL simulation video games. The NBA games have had a long history of not sufficiently conveying the talents and attributes of the players accurately. All the players were pretty much cut from the same animations and had virtually non distinct skill sets. Yeah, the old EA Sports NBA games would have the clownish “signature moves” of a handful of players but that is where the individualism would end. 2k Sports is attacking that problem and defeating it. I brought the Kobe Bryant covered 2k10 last year and thought it the pinnacle of NBA simulators. Very authentic game play and player representation, on a whole. Yeah I was kinda irked by the pretty uniform foot speed in that version. I also got irked by the inability to run a fast breaking player down from behind and swat their shots. Anybody who watches D Wade or LeBron ball knows that is one of their specialties. I would give 2k10 a 9.But 2k11 is a WHOLE new ball game. The player skill sets and animations are SO authentic and on point I could swear the real NBA players have somehow gotten sucked into a TRON like video world and now play for my amusement. A player with foot speed blows by slower players. If you get sloppy with a fast break layup LeBron will run you down and send that shot to the trash heap. The game is fun. My only gripe is passing the ball can be a pain. Its like every CPU controlled player is Defensive Player of.

I’m an avid nba fan and gamer and I have always been a fan of The NBA 2k series. When 2k11 Added Michael Jordan, IMO the greatest to play the game…I was very excited.Unfortunately, the gameplayjLft9M itself is very frustrating, especially in my favorite mode to play, the my player mode.Even. After I dragged through the draft and first season of myplayer, and my really Terrible player got better, the game was super frustrating because your player never gets the ball, and your team mates act like they play jr high basketball, while every team you play seems like the Miami heat. The controls were also sketchy, sometimes the player I controlled acted like he was stuck to a defender, or perfectly excecuted shots by star players would never drop. The Jordan Modes were fun, but overall I was all too frustrated with team mate ai in the my player mode and the finicky control. Sold back to GameStop for a couple of bucks before I busted the disk in half.

Bought this game, and am totally amazed at the game play and the graphics. The graphics are so great, my son thought I was watching a live game the first time he saw me playing it.I’m still getting used to the controls, so I can’t give a fair review there. The only thing that’s annoying is one of the screens where the fans are doing the tomahawk motion. It’s very annoying to watch. Other than that, great game.

Here are reasons why I will gives this game a higher rating than a lot of games that have been released over the past year… (keep in mind, this IS a sports game and you can’t compare it to games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops” or “Halo:Reach”:Character Models: Every single character in this game has a distinct feature about them that sets them aside from other players. Every player has great amount of detail put into them, to the point that even from a far you can depict who is who without there names displayed. Each character has a certain style of playability, such as there shooting form, the different dunks they have, even the way they dribble and pass.Soundtrack: Quite possibly the best sound track to ever be on any sports game to date. With new songs and old songs, you will find that every song is something that will fit perfectly into your gameplay.Game Modes: The “My Player” mode takes you from playing pick-up games to winning the NBA Championship, if you have what it takes. The road to success is difficult, yet, very enjoyable and an experience that doesn’t end as soon as it starts. There is a great variety of games you can play, such as “Slam-Dunk Contest”, “3-Point Shootout” and you can even play a game of “21” to prove to your friends that its not your team thats beating them, but that its you who truly possesses the skills of a true baller.Playability: The controls are very smooth and easy to pick up on. Any non-gamer or non-sportsatic can hop in and start playin.
