Pretty fun game. My kid has an unreasonable love for it as far as I can tell but I only think it’s okay. I do enjoy the minions, they are quite entertaining. But the gameplay…there is a LOT of hunting around for various places and things and it gets tiresome. I’m not sure I ever got around to beating the 2nd boss because I was having so much trouble finding those nodes in the forest. The graphics aren’t great and sometimes it’s pretty unclear where you can and cannot go, or what you can interact with vs. what you can’t. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because my kiddo is just gaga over this game, personally I would only give it a 3 star rating.

Warning, this game is addicting! Ok, with the warning out of the way, I will let you know about the game. This game is very fun and entertaining! If you love being a little mischievous and evil, then this game is for you. You are the Overlord, the embodiment of evil. It is up to you to punish all of the good creatures and people of the land. You control minions which look and act like Gremlins. Send them to do your dirty work for you as you plunder the land and wreak havoc among sheepies! I like this game because it lets you be evil without being too out of control. It is fun to a level that I felt alright with my kids watching me play. You will find more gore and violence in a lot of other first person shooters than you will in Overlord. Although it sounds bad being evil, the creators have captured being evil in a fun way. Journey through the land solving puzzles and going on quests to increase your spells and upgrade your armor and weapons. The creators were great at adding a lot of humor into this game. It did not take an extreme amount of time to complete, but it is long enough that it keeps your attention and makes it fun. My only complaint is that at some points it seems too easy to defeat enemies. You do however have to go through the game unlocking all four types of minions, each with different powers, to solve puzzles. I recommend this game to anyone who has a little of a bad side that wants to get out.

My problem with the Xbox 360 is that it is difficult to find games that are not either First Person Shooters or 3rd person world domination shooters.Enter Overlord, a completely unique game that immerses you in a creatively stunning land. While the goal is domination, the game play is quirky, fun, and you feel like you are exploring different worlds and are on a new adventure. The game play, while it involves killing, seems to involve more strategy and rewards thoughtfulness over triggerpulling and destroying things.A truly unique and fun adventure. The one and only problem – don’t save immediately after finishing the brewery.

I really liked this game. Overall it was very entertaining and well worth $20. There were some funny parts but some of the repetitive sayings could get annoying. The peasants would say the same thing every time you walked past them and the first time I was very tempted to go evil and kill them to make them be quiet. The main thing that bothered me was the lack of some type of map or even something telling me what direction I was walking. A few times a peasant would tell me something was going on to the east and I had no idea which way that was. It would also be nice to have a map that told the location of minions that were taking an object to one of the way points. They didn’t always go to the closest one and when they didn’t come back after a few minutes I would have to go find them. I also ended up wandering in circles several times and had to take the way point back to the tower so I could figure out where I was (assuming I could find a way point). There were some glitches with the camera that always seemed to show up when I was fighting a large group of enemies. While attacking zombies I sent my guys out in several directions and my camera angle was swinging everywhere rather than following in the direction that the overlord was pointed. The camera also decided part way through the game to go to a bird’s eye view and it took me a lot of fidgeting with the controls to get it back to where it was originally. I even resorted to reading the directions and it didn’t cover how to.

This turned out to be one of my all time favorite games. I found myself playing it obsessively just to experience the game from an all evil or all good point of view.I loved the humor and character voices. The game is irreverent and quite funny.Well worth the money.Get the Raising Hell addition to round it out. I haven’t played it in a few months. I’m sure I’ll be playing it over again by the end of the day.

I finally decided to order Overlord for the 360 on retrolio for 6 dollars. I wasn’t sure what to expect, having never really heard of it prior. It came, I popped it in and well, I never looked back. I’ve been playing it almost exclusively for the past 4 days now and I am blown away by how much of a wonderful game this is.As the game opens you (the overlord) is being woken up from a long slumber by some wicked little gremlins you’ll later refer to as “minions”. These creatures explain some of what happened to you, and start equipping you in Overlord armor, and after some more dialogue and a little training, you begin your quest. As The Overlord, your goal is to be evil. Now that can mean a little evil, or extremely evil, it’s up to you, and your choices throughout the game WILL have an impact on the story. You control minions of different types, like red minions specialize in fire, for example. All in all there’s brown, green, red, and blues you’ll be controlling. You can make your minions fight for you, pillage and loot villages, and basically anything else, like opening doors and gates, etc.In this sense, the game takes on an RTS quality, because you’ll have to be strategic with your minions to solve puzzles and beat bosses. At other times though, it’s an RPG the likes of Fable. The graphics don’t do a whole lot to show true next-gen visuals, but having said that the graphics are still nice and the world is beautiful to look at.Now this game, although you play an evil character, i.

I bought this game for my brother for Christmas. He really like it. It was pricey but I think that is because it is now hard to find.
