My friend recommended this to me and I’m so glad she did. I fell in love with this game. Fun, dark, interactive story. I already have 60 hours into it and there is still alot more to do. Gameplay is good and take a lil while to get the hang of, but it’s not that complicated.

I bought the PS2 version of this when it first came out, and I heard about enough new features in Golden that I bought a Vita just for this game. I’ve only gotten slightly past the first dungeon as of this review, but that was enough to see the biggest changes Golden made:-Fusions have been made much, much easier. You can now pick what skills are passed down, instead of having to endlessly reroll important fusions. You can also search your possible fusions for the result persona; handy if you have something in mind but haven’t memorized the fusion chart.-Two new social links: Aeon and Jester. I’ve only seen Aeon so far, but it’s a good link that’s already made me laugh a few times.-There’s a “voice” feature which allows you to see what actions people have taken on each day of the game. For example, you can see which social links people hung out with the most, what days most people went to the dungeon, and so on. This feature also applies to fusion, so you can see what the most popular personas are at certain points.-You can send out an SOS in the dungeon. People can respond to it to give you an HP and MP boost when you start your next battle, and you can respond to other people’s SOSes to do the same for them. I’ve usually only seen a small boost since it’s difficult to get more than one or two people to respond at a time, but every little bit helps. There’s also a rescue log that lets you see the custom messages people made for their SOSes(taken from wordlists that include s.

This game is incredibly fun, the story is just so entertaining because the game is very well written. The characters are so well done that I’m seriously attached to all of them. I have to admit that this is my first time playing a Persona game, but now I’m hooked and looking forward to Persona 5.I had always read that this game was really fun, but I never really gave it a chance; fast forward to a time that my gaming PC and my ps3 were being moved across the US and I had plenty of time to not only play this game, but thoroughly become engrossed by it.So do yourself a favor and buy this game, you will not regret it!

I never played a persona game before, but since this one received such great reviews, I decided to give it a shot. The first half hour of this game got me really worried but then I fell in love with it.******************************Pros**************************************-Very unique RPG game play: This game has two types of gameplay system. One you go to dungeons, fight monsters and bosses , collect treasures. Second, as a school boy you interact with your friends, family and others in your town. I knew I liked dungeon and fighting gameplay but I was surprised by how much I ended up social linking gameplay in this game. While I was a bit worried at first about the social gameplay, it becomes very addictive as it boosts the experience of personas (your monsters) you create.-Strategic Battles: This game is turn based JRPG where you can control each of the characters (like FFX) or you can choose to control only main character and give basic commands to your team mate (like FFXIII?). Like typical RPGs enemies are weak and strong against elements, but figuring out which enemy is weak is where this game challenges you. In addition it has unique persona (monsters) gameplay.-Persona (Monster) Concept: This is the most unique thing about this game. You and your friends have ‘persona’ (in simple words, monster that help you fight in the dungeons. Really liked how you can grow these personas by traditional RPG grinding tactics (leveling up in dungeons) as well as through social lin.

I own Persona 4 on the PS2 and I thought it was an enjoyable game. I wound up buying Golden on a whim and once I started playing through it, I was hooked again. In the 5 years (yikes, has it been that long?) since I played Persona 4, the game still stands up rather well.If you know a little about Persona 3, there was an expansion for that game in Japan that was later released in the US as the stand-alone game Persona 3 FES. Golden is in the same spirit of FES, but unlike FES, the additions are substantial. Despite being at its core the same Persona 4 on the PS2, Atlus put so much new content in Golden that it has become the definitive must own version of the game IMHO. I want to say its like playing a completely different game, but its not. The RPG dungeon crawl has for the most part remained unchanged. The social simulator part of Golden, however, has an insane level of new stuff in it. You will run into brand new stuff just about immediately after starting the game. The quantity of the new content is, uh, sweetdiculous? Its a lot of stuff, much like the portal to the meat dimension bowl of soup. In the first 10 minutes, you’re introduced to a new social link. Not the only new social link either. Play long enough and you’ll find out you can hang out and build an s.link with Adachi. Yeah, the goof off detective. That’s just scratching the surface too. Early in the game, you get your own scooter that can take you to a nearby city. You can also ride with your buddies that earns.

P4 was one of the few games that I did not buy for my Vita on release day. The text-heavy interface and overall look of the game just seemed too japanese-y for me (this from someone who loves anime and is fascinated with Japanese culture). In any case, I kept looking at all the high scores this game was getting – it really is the highest rated game on the Vita. Still I resisted. I loved Uncharted, Liberation, Sly Cooper, I had no interest in reading pages of text and turn-based battle seemed the exact opposite of the kind of game I like. Once the price fell to $30 I decided to try it out – I could always trade it in if I hated it. Once I started playing this – I was sucked in the storyline, I liked the characters and wanted to spend more time with them. I turned on auto-progression with the dialog so I didn’t have to read text and felt more like I was watching a cartoon. The voice acting is excellent and just gives the characters more depth. What really surprised me was the thrill I got in combat. While the action games require a lot of running around and hacking/shooting foes this game requires analysis and strategy – I know that sounds boring, but there is a real adrenaline rush when you battle bosses that is inexplicable. The whole game is an enigma to me. I was completely hooked from start to finish (I put in 90hrs and am considering replaying it a second time) and Atlus did a tremendous job with graphics, sound, acting, story, combat and even technical stuff.

Love this game! I had been wanting to get it for a while and I was super excited to play. The story is wonderful as all Persona games are, and the art is beautiful; so are the graphics. The battle portions are fun even though they can be hard. Grinding for levels doesnt feel like a chore. The rain function for rescue is interesting and a new concept for me. The only thing I would have to complain about is the lack of SP items. It frustrates me to high heaven trying to find some. (I heard that later on in the game it wont be an issue though)

Persona 4 remains one of my favorite RPGs. The social interactions between characters, the combat, the level of customization you can perform with your party – it all comes together to make one hell of a game. If you played the initial game on the PS2 you might be a little iffy to play the Vita version. I played through the PS2 version but never finished it. So, it was a no brainer to pick it up when it came out for the vita. Even if you beat the game twice already there is enough new content and updated graphics to warrant another wallop through this wonderful world. If you have never played the game before, prepared to be taken to the next level of RPG/social interaction gaming that to this day hasn’t been matched. I envy people new to the game because I would love to experience this magic over again for the first time.

This a wonderful story-based rpg with dynamic turn based elements. You have to solve a murder mystery while augmenting your abilities and personas. That’s what every game descriptor on game sites says. I want to talk about how the characters are so lifelike and relatable. You get to redo your school life and make friends again while learning so much about your own life in the process. It jolted me into getting my life together. Who knew a game could do that? I also felt wholesome. The characters felt like my real friends, and each of them had difficult problems to conquer. Nobody is perfect, and it’s okay to have flaws, as long as you are willing to face them. I had more fun with this game than I’ve had in years. I haven’t connected with anything on this level in a long time. I guarantee, no matter your gaming background and no matter which difficulty you choose (no shame in choosing easy), you will find something to enjoy in Persona 4 Golden. It has animations and a social sim element to get closer to the characters. At the end of the day, not only did I feel fulfilled, I felt like replicating this level of fulfillment in my life. Since then, I’ve been making many good and empowering decisions. I always thank P4G for setting me back on the right track.

Every time this game was described to me, I thought: "That sounds terrible! Why is Persona 4 so popular?"Well, now I know. It’s impossible for me to adequately explain why, but this game is absolutely amazing. I’m 35 years old, and have no interest in high school, but for some reason, P4 makes taking on the role of a high school student FUN. I absolutely loved the characters in this game. I loved going to class, going to the food court. Heck, I even loved studying and taking exams. Weird, right? The developers of this game must be straight up geniuses, to make such mundane things so fun.My least favorite part, ironically, was the combat and "dungeon delving" (if you could call it that – it’s really weird). However, it’s not really terrible. It’s just that the gameplay in the school and town was so much fun, I wanted to get back to that as soon as possible. The characters are so amazing, I grew to care for all of them, and I already miss being in their world!
