Pokemon Gold for Gameboy Color takes place several years after Red, Blue and Yellow, and puts the user into a brand new world, Johto. The gameplay is very similar to the previous games but with many improvements. These include new functions for the player’s Pokegear, a Pokedex that can now be sorted by evolution type and of course, many new Pokemon to catch and train! The objective of the game is to become the champion trainer, and try to complete the Pokedex. To become the champion, the player battles Gym Leaders to obtain various badges. Completing the Pokedex requires a different set of actions, and involves capturing wild Pokemon, battling various trainers to obtain money, and trading Pokemon with NPC’s and other players of Pokemon games.

Game works great! Love catching the pokemon i don’t have in Silver edition and using it to defeat the gym leaders. Plus gives me a chance to build up my pokemon collection as i play each game.

The one I received was clean and did not have writing on it or stickers. That’s something that is almost impossible to find anymore. The downside was the save battery was dead. That is something that you might want to expect buying these games now. I’m fine with that because they were clear that it was untested plus it is very easy to replace a GBC save battery. Finding a cart with a good label, no writing, and no stickers is what you should keep in mind when getting these now. That’s something you cannot replace.

Would have given five stars, but had to replace save battery. For the price, and condition advertised, I would have expected a working cart. No big deal I suppose, the battery is easy to replace if you are careful. The plus side is, the cart is authentic, and the label, and connections are like new.

Battery was dead easy fix but seller gave partial refund for that so bonus stars for that

It is a good game, but the save battery dried out after first use. We had to get a screwdriver and new batteries because of this.

I bought (2) used Pokemon Gold versions from Amazon a few months back. One of them works perfectly, saves and still has the label intact while the other version doesn’t save and has a torn label. Just make sure you purchase a game that has a working save battery. I recommend this product to Pokemon lovers all around the world!

I snagged up a used copy of this game and my kid loves it. He says it’s better than any of the other Pokémon games he’s played.

I have yet to receive my item but I’m tracking it right now and its within hours. I ordered it on Friday and its now Monday so its rather fast. I would recomment this dealer to anyone and everyone. Price was more than reasonable, Im not expecting a tip top shape product but none the less the price is firm. I was about 11 yrs old when Pokemon first came out and I fell in love with the show, then I went from the show to Pokemon cards and then the gameboy color. I haven’t played this game in nearly 5-6yrs and I am excited to play it. Thanks guys for an awesome product and service

This game is definitely fun to play. It saves fine despite its age and it works great as well. I definitely recommend getting it.
