This is the finest peice of Metal art the boys in Maiden ever released. From the opening track of “Aces High”, to the 14+ minute masterpiece of “Flight Of The Ancient Mariner”, this album kicks [rear-end]and takes names!1. “Aces High” One of the most melodic, yet [rear] kicking songs on the album! A+2. “2 Minutes to Midnight” A catchy mid tempo great guitar riffs.A+3. “Losfer’s words” Excellent Instrumental. A4. “Flash Of the Blade” A trippy song about a sword fight. A+5. “Duelists” Great guitar solos by Dave and Adrian! A6. “Back In The Village” Catchy number, Not one of Bruce’s best vocal performances. A-7. “Powerslave” The Riffs on this song kick [rear-end]A Metal classic! A+8. “Flight Of The Ancient Mariner” Victorian Poetry done Maiden style! A+

The 2014 Vinyl reissue sounds great. Way better than the CD or MP3, but I cant help but feel it’s missing some dynamics. It has a very up front and center sound stage and while it if defined and clear and I can pick out every instrument and it flows very nicely. Bruce’s voice isn’t as up front as I would like (still sounds amazing though), and the bass drum is a little drowned out. The pros are that the cymbals don’t just sound like sounds. It actually sounds like sticks are hitting them, and the bass guitar comes through very strong. It feels more realistic. It sounds less like sounds forming a song and more like people using instruments and playing a part to create these songs, if that makes sense. Does it sound as good as the original? No. But is it worthy of a buy if you don’t have an original copy? Hell yes. The only ones that beat it are an original Japanese pressing or UK pressing. But since those go for quite a bit of money, this is your best bet.Packaging- 10/10Vinyl Quality- 10/10Sound Quality – 8/10

It’s not necessary to spend a lot of words describing this CD because all metal fans should have it in their CD collection. I mean, I can’t find a boring or less-balanced track in this album, and for me It’s been very hard to decide which is the best Iron Maiden CD: Powerslave or Piece of Mind, in the end I couldn’t find an answer.A masterwork of Heavy Metal genre, appealing to all kinds or ages of listeners, this time, a must-buy for all!

Maiden never fails to impress with the maddeningly awesome riffs, the double guitar harmonies, and the brilliant solos. However, I never really liked their choice in singers. Dickinson is probably the best, but he sounds like he’s straining a lot of the time. A lot of the power metal bands that came later and tried to emulate him sing a lot smoother than he does. But that’s Maiden’s only flaw on this album, and Dickinson is still good, just not my favorite metal singer. Though I liked his latest solo album.Harris is a composition god, and he proves that yet again on this album. “Aces High” is an awe-inspiring opener. “Two Minutes To Midnight” is good, but for some reason Dickinson irritates me more on this track than on the rest of the album.”Losfer Words” is a great instrumental, right up there with “Genghis Khan”. “Flash of the Blade” has a great riff, and the bass line makes it sound so dark. It could almost be a power metal anthem.I’m not as impressed with “The Duellists” as some others might be…if Maiden had a filler on this album, this would be it. It’s not really a filler, though, but it lacks some of the energy than the other songs on Powerslave.”Back In The Village” and “Powerslave” are good as well. The Middle-Eastern feeling you can tell they are trying to create in “Powerslave” falls a little flat, but it’s still a powerful song. But what makes this album the best Maiden has offered is the song, “Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner”. This puts you right in the.

Excellent album
Brandt Prickett –
This is in, my opinion, one of there best albums of all.
Dave Barckow –
If this was maidens debut it would’ve gotten 5 stars from me. But number of the beast and piece of mind are so over the top incredible that I can only give it 4 fairly. For newer Maiden fans don’t forget to check out first 2 albums with Paul Diano singing. 5 star gems themselves and a much faster, looser vibe from band

The album cover alone is worth the price of admission. This is a classic.I bought this to be able to play Aces High and Powerslave during intermissions/warm-ups at the kids’ hockey games. And I was instantly brought back to my high-school days, when my headbanger classmates would crank this stuff from their Camaros. And it’d attract the big-haired girls like a siren song! (Meanwhile, I’d crank up some Lionel Richie and Air Supply…attracting exactly zero big-haired and zero not-so-big-haired girls). It’s simply a wonderful album and sadly, I didn’t quite appreciate just how wonderful it was back when I had acne and was involuntarily celebate. Thanks to the power of retrolio (and much to the chagrin of my wife), these lost treasures are now an important part of my life. I crank this up from my Ford Fusion’s stock stereo, in an attempt to woo the big-haired girls. It no longer works for that, but the music works well to get the kids all pumped up for sports. Good stuff.
