I like the demons and I always liked a dark, cryptic type of games. And well this is one I had my eye on for a while. Like Diablo and Devil May Cry, I liked the type of games where you are only you against legions of enemies. And well I give this game a 5 stars cause I wanted too.

Primal is one of those rare jewels that seem to fly under the mainstream radar, despite being rather good. it’s one of those titles that suffer not from poor game quality but from poor marketing and sales, even if the actual experience is enriching and enjoyable. In Primal you play as Jen (voiced by Hudson Leick of Xena fame), a snarky goth girl who finds herself transported to another realm by a talking gargoyle after she and her boyfriend Lewis are attacked by a monster, who kidnaps Lewis and leaves Jen in a coma. She then learns from the gargoyle Scree (Adreas Katsulas of Babylon 5) that she has been called upon to restore the balance of Order and Chaos in the four realms of Oblivion.Graphics: Even in this ultra high definition age of PS3’s and 360’s, Primal still holds up as a beautifully designed game. The developers did a good job putting lots of little details on main characters. The artistry behind the designs is also quite noteworthy, from Jen’s tattoo to the psuedo-Victorian look of the Air realm of Aetha, to the Psuedo-Egyptian styles of the fire realm of Volca. And the fact that it all runs at 30+ fps makes for smooth responsive game play.Gameplay: Admittedly this is not the game’s strongest aspect. The exploration moments tend to get hampered by the slow (albeit organic and smooth) animations that make up the little actions like opening or attempting to open a door (of which there are many). And the combat also suffers from a poor control scheme. Even a fight with.

I told people that I liked Silent Hill 2, GTA: Vice City, Final Fantasy X, and Devil May Cry (the first one!)…and they recommended this game. It’s a true to form adventure game. Not necessarily another slasher. You don’t have to slash if you don’t want to. There’s plenty of story (Funny characters and real humor), puzzles, beautiful scenery to keep your mind involved in this game. I give this game 4 out of 5 stars. Recommended. If you like slashers where that’s ALL YOU DO. Go elsewhere. This is mostly an adventure game, not a first-person slasher/shooter.Oh, and the music (sounds like Goth Rock and classical scores from the movie Abyss) and graphics are excellent!

I played Primal on ps2 years ago when i was 14 it was my first M rated game I still remember the felling I got from playing & not once since then have I seen a game that had such a story if theres a game that deserves a reboot or remake as well as a decent amount of sequels well Primal would b the perfect canidate to remake for ps4 plus since it was only avaliable on playstation it would make a good exclusive on ps4 plz sony I hope u read this & remake Primal I & im sure alot of other ppl would love to play this on modern ps4 this game is the true defintion of a masterpiece

Play this game and beat it, you wont be dissappointed. At the time this cart came out, not many games were into plots or design or music, but this game excels in all of those. Yes it is a bit easy to defeat, but it is worth playing. The main characters have awesome voice overs and dialogue. The female protagonist is played by no other than Heidi Hudson Leick who played Callisto in Xena! If you enjoy Ghosthunter, you will enjoy this one.

Get Primal! If you don”t get it you don”t know what your missing.I never played a game like it…..man.Jen and scree got good art the coolest. The best story coolest bosses the best its very hard but fun I like challenges.Jen is the character who fights Scree tells Jen clues.I would like to discuss with other who have played this great game

I loved this game when I was younger so the game content was already a 5 star thing for me. The game was there super fast, but it had a lot of scratches on it. It plays fine. There’s a few glitches, which I think are caused by the scratches, but it’s a good working game nontheleas.

  9. Deborah Fowler

Excellent condition for a PS2 version this old.

  10. Melanie

WELL, I must say this game has alot of opinions which can get rather maddening, I would suggest to anyone if you think you would like it, then rent it or buy it, whatever you do, because this game is not THAT bad i’ve had a few problems with glitches myself, like the world disappearing and i’m walking on air??? I don’t know either, BUT, I love the attitude they give the character, she’s a A** kicker and Scree, well I just love gargoyles! The different realms are exaclty that- you do not have repetition in this game, that sets the score high i think.(and that tattoo on her back, very nice!!!)That’s a 5 star tat.Fighting is testy at times, but what battles in any game are not.you need to use your noggin for some of the puzzles, but for the most part you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out, though it does use some of that gray matter locked up in your pretty heads, so if the room is dark, brighten it up and have yourself a look around…TRY to do it without cheating!!!! "use your dead zone" you’ll figure it out!!!!I LIKED THE GAME alot but sometimes opinions are not what the need is, the need is to just get the game and PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!!
