This is a puzzle game with action thrown into it. It is the kind of game where you think you might get tired of walking around, and then a second later four monsters jump at you and its time to fight. This game isn’t for the kind of person who likes a game for the fun of shooting someones head off with a shotgun. Its mostly finding objects to help you last through the night, or powers. Later in the game you get powers that gives you the chance to become a monster! I think thats awsome! Don’t you?
I wish I had this game when I got my first playstation. I would have a appreciated the game a lot more. It’s still dynamic and the music was killer.
I really enjoyed this game. The voices of the characters were so well done. It had many puzzles that were quite challenging. The main character could take on four forms with different skills for each. The other main character, a gargoyle, who was quite interesting. He helped her solve puzzles and collect energy. Each scene was beautifully detailed. The only drawn back, there were a few glitches in the game. You may get stuck in a spot and have to restart that level again. The main frustration for me was the ending. I have not gotten there yet. It is a very tough boss fight. I loved everything else about the game.

I have just finished the game and must say, from a female point of view, I loved it. If you are looking for a game that will take a part of you in with it, then this is the game for you. I will tell you now if you are looking for high action this is not what you want. Far more puzzle solving and exploring skills are needed. You do battle, but they are not so difficult that you are stuck for days on them. The graphics are great and you enjoy the images of four main world, which harbor many different races of deamons. Jenn, your main character, can change into other deamon forms as the game progresses; and each come with their own special moves. She grows on you. To help you on your quest for a new RPG I want to tell you that I am a die hard Final Fantasy fan. I began this game after finishing FF10. I was so excited to find another game that intrigued me. I can’t wait for the next instalment and suggest that you trust your instincts and take a chance on this one….:)

A very good-looking game with awesome sound, awe-inspiring visuals and a deep plot that will keep you busy for anything between 15 and 30 hours – you set the pace. There’s no need to rush, because the different worlds are very detailed in terms of architecture and overall design and seem to welcome you to take look around to relish the cool atmosphere. The difficulty level is easy-medium. The game is action based but also has puzzles, which however are simple enough to avoid frustration (with very few exceptions, where you need to look a little closer at your surroundings).The game is divided into 4 episodes. Each is a different part of the alternate world, Jen has to discover in order to find her lost boy-friend (abducted by demonic creatures). The episodes show a great deal of variety: from lost underground civilizations in eternal snow to medieval castles and villages in the rain to underwater worlds and Egyptian temples and tombs – you’ll be there.Jen’s sidekick is a gargoyle named Scree, who has special abilities like turning to stone (you guessed that one), possessing statues and using them to fight larger enemies or create bridges/smash doors, etc. and climbing stone walls. Jen is the fighter: she learns different moves as she discovers and unleashes different demonic forms of herself, each one connected to the area she’s in (e.g. she can become a water-dwelling demon once she gets to Aquis, an underwater civilization). I just reordered this games since I wore out my old one, playing and replaying it. It does what videogames to best (for me) which is that it takes you to an interesting world/worlds with amazing visuals, challenging puzzles, a good story-line, exciting action and characters that you really like.I had a lot of affection for Jenn and her little gargoyle companion, Scree. You can tell a lot of care went into the design and creation of Primal.

This brilliant adventure game has Jen as an intelligent 21 year old woman who learns she has supernatural powers – and must use them to keep the world from ending.There are many ways in which this game shines. First and foremost, the plot and environment in which the adventure takes place has a huge attention to detail. Jen and her boyfriend are into the nightclub scene – he’s a heavy metal singer – and the way in which the movie opens really draws you in. The club they’re in looks exactly like a few I’ve been in.The characters are extremely realistic, smart and savvy. This isn’t a brainless bimbo having to ‘learn about life’. Sure, she doesn’t know about her supernatural powers at first, but she’s quick on the uptake and takes care of herself. This is definitely a chick that girls can look up to and that guys will want to get to know.Along comes Scree, a fun gargoyle that gives her a hand. The combination of Jen’s abilities and Scree’s special powers makes the puzzle solving and adventures even more fun, as you figure out which would be better in a situation. Yes, there’s some fighting. But this is NOT a button-mashing game. The intro sequence definitely sets the pace. This is more like an interactive movie in which you actively affect the plot, rather than a run-around-gathering-coins brainless activity.There are different worlds and different characters you meet, and the PS2’s graphics have really been tested in this game. Man. I had no idea what Primal would be like when I first purchased it. In fact, I bought it on a whim from EB games and boy, am I glad I did!Let me start by giving a brief summory of the game:Jen Tate, our protagonist, has a bad encouter with a being from another world, who happens to wisk away the love of her life and puts her on her death bed.Suddenly, Jen wakes up ( so it seems..) and is greeted by another odd creature: a gargoyle, that in my opinion is one of the best characters of all time! She gets told that the world(s) need her help to stop an evil plan that is shifting the balance. And then, Jen embarks her quest, side kick alongside her.The graffics and voice overs are top notch, and the worlds you discover and play in are phenomenal. I mean, if you are like me and appreciate a world that one can interact in and that has a ton of detail, you will love this game!Plus, similarly to Bloodrayne, Jen has some killer femme fatale moves that she gets.Oh, and I forgot to mention: she morphes into whatever creature the world she enters is occupied by.Please, please buy this game and play it. It deserves all of the credit it can get, as so frequently games of this caliber are overshadowed by well-known ones that are highly publicized.Buy this one and Beyond Good and Evil and you will play the two top games on my list!

Even though it’s not very old, this game is a classic, the adventure is truly a blast, I’ve beaten this game over 5 times in less than the 2 years I’ve owned it. The basic plot of this game is that you (Jen) and your side-kick (Scree) explore four different highly detailed realms. Forest, water, haunted, and fire, is what I like to call them, can’t remember the real names of them, and my PS2 isn’t connected so I can’t check, but basically those are what the reamls are. They each take well over an hour to beat, even when you know what you’re doing. Another great feature in this game, is you get to control your side-kick "Scree" whenever you like, so basically you have 2 characters to pick from, having to switch to progress in the game. Ifyou don’t already own this game, definitely pick it up, it’s worth every penny.

I really loved this game becuase it had a really awesome battle system and wonderful relms to wonder though. I bought this game becuase it looked cool and beat it in 2 weeks. I would suggest getting a strategy guide becuase there are hidden tarrot cards throughout the different relms. My personal favorite relm was Aetha — at least i think that is the spelling, it is a world of wraiths and the houses and mansions are beautiful. The other relms include : the nexus, mortalis, aquis, aetha, and volca. In each of the different relms Jen, the main character gets a new demon power and each is more powerful then the last. The game really begins to pick up in the end of solum so don’t give up if you are bored :)! Give this game a chance! :)

I used to play this game when when I was younger and I thought it’d be difficult to find it again. But here it was and for super cheap, not only that but it was in perfect condition! If I ever have to buy an old game again I’m defiantly purchasing it from these guys.

I LOVE this game!!! I believe Primal is unlike any other game I have ever played. An avid fan of survival horror/adventure games, to me this game gets almost 5 stars…and that’s only because I experienced a couple glitches. I must admit one of them in the third realm had me stuck for months, and I had to use a cheat code to get through one particular door. But other than that, it was beautifully designed and written. I just wish they would release a Primal 2!
