GREAT GRAME
Lord Chaos –
I have longed played this game as a kid, well wrapped into its environment and gameplay. I’d recommend this game to anyone, and its sequels, as I had a very fun time playing this game.

Ratchet & Clank is by far the best game for content and playability that I have seen yet for the PS2. I have such a great time with this one. It is truly revolutionary! I finally feel that my kids will be challenged and entertained by a game that I love. They did a great job with this one!I am a very particular mom when it comes to game violence. But, all of the violence in the game was cartoon violence, reminding me of old bugs bunny cartoons. The animation, too, was in a classic and smooth style! You play Ratchet, a catlike mammal that befriends a tiny robot named Clank. You must then save the solar system from an evil corporation that is stealing parts of planets to replace their own overly polluted world. Ratchet and Clank must then speed around the galaxy finding items and taking on the invading robot hordes that are laying waste to all the planets. (the message behind this is nice!)The adventure is smooth paced and at a comfortable difficulty level for both kids and teens. It’s just madcap fun for higher-level gamers. There are tons of powerups and weapons. The game is massive, with countless worlds too explore. The cut scenes actually add to the gaming experience, rather than take you out of it. The animation in these is superb, with fantastic acting.Overall, this is a must have! It will make a great gift for any kid in your family! They will not be bored and neither will you.

Ratchet and Clank is one of my favorite game series’. The mix of platforming, shooting, great characters, and funny stories, all make for an incredible series of games. The first Ratchet and Clank game (titled simply “Ratchet and Clank), is a whole lot of fun, but unlike a couple of it’s sequels, it isn’t perfect. Ratchet and Clank 1, offers a series of great platforming, and it introduces the dynamic duo.Still though, there are moments where Ratchet and Clank 1 can be frustrating. Do these moments ruin the game? Not at all, but they do make you realize that Ratchet and Clank didn’t start out perfect.Anyway, if you are a fan of Ratchet and Clank, or you want to see what all the buzz is about, go ahead and pick up this title. It certainly isn’t bad, it just isn’t the best Ratchet and Clank game to come out.

instruction manual a little ripped but fine

I started the R&C series with the 4th game, Deadlocked, and worked backwards to this one because of availability. As they BUILD ON EACH OTHER and there are substantial benefits to playing them and finishing them in order, START HERE! The game is amazing. There is great depth in game play as well as story. I only have a couple gripes; No strafe (corrected in later games), and the difficulty of game play fluctuates a little more than I like, from slam-dunk easy to an expectation of perfect moves/key strokes for an extended period of play. The puzzle solving and multi layer story are a nice addition to the huge selection of weapons and equipment you accumulate as you blast your way through many different worlds. Try it and you will be hooked.

Having gone through the PS3 release “Ratchet & Clank Future” and its downloadable sequel, I totally fell in love with this series. When I saw that there are numerous prequels for the PS2, I bought all of them (new and used) through 3rd party, retrolio shops. I’m glad that I did I that or else I’d be far more upset for reasons that I’ll go over shortly. The game plays exactly the same way as its latest successor — fight through a series of well-made landscapes, buy new weapons, upgrade existing weapons, and so forth — and it includes all of the great humor that I’ve come to expect. From that perspective, it can be argued that if you’ve played one R&C you’ve played them all; but that doesn’t make the game any less fun to play. The biggest problem — and this is my fault for not researching it beforehand — is that this game does not play well on the software-emulation, 80GB PS3. It is playable; however, it runs very slowly in most sections and cutscene audio goes out of sync. Other R&C games are said to freeze in certain areas. So, you can still go through the game, but you might become frustrated by the slowness. Again, that’s not a fault of the game. That’s my fault for not researching it, although it would have been nice for Sony to upgrade the compatibility due to the popularity of “Rachet and Clank Future”. They should expect people to be interested in the old versions. Oh, well.If you have a PS2 and you like 3rd person arcade shooters, you have to have this game a.

I bought this new. Yes, I’m that guy. I spent $78.87 on a PS2 game. This was my first PS2 game ever, so maybe I’m a little biased, but it is quite possibly the best game ever made. The innovation at the time was astounding. I played this through at least 30 times. I have hundreds of hours stored up, if not more. That is not an exaggeration. I then gave my PS2 away with all of my games to some kids who didn’t have a console (I was working and moved on to the PS3 at this point). I recently acquired a PS2 and *needed* this game. I play on my PC as well.Factory sealed. Includes the ORIGINAL poster and registration form! The memories! I only miss the black label that mine had. :/ That’s no reason to not purchase, however. For the record: I am obsessed with platformers, strategy, and RPG games.
