This is a great game. Not only is the single player great, but my favorite part is the multiplayer. I love how you can blast through the scenary and find secrets behind walls. If you ever get bored of single player(which i’m sure you wont), just go to multyplayer and start blastin tunnels through the levels. The only drawback is that is only 2 players.

Now THIS is more like it. PS2 games of late have been plagued by the curse of brevity. After a string of INCREDIBLY short games, such as Onimusha, ZOE, Crazy Taxi, and Starfigher, PS2 owners finally have a reason to use their memory cards. Red Faction goes a long way towards remedying the "beaten in one sitting" trend with a long storyline full of twists, turns, and a huge variety of environments to explore. What starts out as a revolution in the mines of mars eventually sees you raiding Ultor’s corporate offices, piloting submarines, fighting HUGE mutant worms, sneaking aboard a space ship, and blowing up a huge space-station. And that’s not even the game’s brutal, down in the trenches, finale! Red Faction is a long game and, just when you think it’s going to end, you’re surprised by yet another twist in the plot. It’s also a fun game and, with the inclusion of a variety of vehicles and the "Geo-Mod" technology, a fairly innovative one.Speaking of which, a lot has been made about the Geo Mod technology. While it is very rewarding to blow the bridge out of personel transports and take out guard towers at their foundations, Red Faction hardly capitalizes the possibilities of being able to alter the environment. The "revolution" has also been a major tag line for this game. While that is all well and good for the storyline, don’t expect any of the other members of Red Faction to help you (ala the martians in "Perfect Dark"). Your.

This game is a total blast. It’s one of my best games that I got right now. If you’ve played this in PC form, you won’t be disappointed with this format. If you’re looking for a mind-tester then this is it for you. There is a couple tricky parts if you don’t have the right weapons to make it quick, but you’ll never get stuck on anything, there’s a way for it all. Making your own paths through the game is also bad a**. This game allows you to do about anything you want to, unlike a lot of other games out there. This game is a total blast, cause once you’re into it, you’re into it. I would recommened you not play this on a week night.

Ok this game is one of the coolest games i have ever played. I play tons of video games all the time so when i got this game i figured oh it will probably be just like some other game but a little better. I was wrong. This game is intense, i mean wow an insane shooter backed up by a vicious story, that is hard to come by and the game still be good!

This game is a lot of fun. There are realistic weapons such as pistols, shotguns, machine guns, then there are unrealistic weapons such as the fusion rocket launcher. It is also lots of fun that you get to pilot four different types of vehicles. The Geo-Mod thing is really cool also, in which you can destroy certain parts of the environment with the more explosive weapons. This last feature however shows up more in the multiplayer than it does in the single player (so far). The graphics are good, not spectacular, but everything looks fairly good. This game unlike many of the other first person shooters for playstation 2 actually has a single player mode, that is just as fun as the multiplayer. The only really annoying thing about this game is that everytime you think you are about to find someone who can help you out, they conveniently get shot by some guard. The other thing is the difficulty. The easy setting is really easy, but the medium setting is 1000 times harder. Otherwise, this is a really good game, and if you liked something such as half-life or quake II, I suggest you buy it.

I own six PS2 titles and this one is by far my favorite (Obviously you have to be a 1st person shooter fan). Red Factor has me looking forward to future PS2 titles if they even come close to this one.

This game was great. Its also the first FPS shooter for PS2 (you know, with a story and stuff) I’ll tell you about the good stuff first. Nice graphics, a very good story, a good choice of weapons, you get to drive an assorted range of vehicles, from subs to airplane things, it has Geo-Mod technology which allows you to destroy the evironment, making new doors, tunnels, and big huge holes! This game is really everything you would want in an FPS. But. Now the cons. The graphics can get a bit dark and hard to see. If you have a s-video cable, the problem is slightly fixed. But thats a VERY minor problem, so don’t worry about it. Another bad thing is the multiplayer. Its only mediocre. And last, its short. You might end up saying “Wait, wha? Its done? …. If your looking for a challenge when dealing with bosses, they arent all too tough. But anyway, overall this game is definetely a MUST BUY. Its very good. And beleive me, I ONLY buy the best games.

i am the kind of person that loves FPS games. i have the N64 and i have perfet dark and the 007′. there arent many games on playstation that are FPS that are really good games. (trust me, i have looked} so i had to stick with my N64 games. but after i got my PS2 for Christmas, nmy brother told me about a game he played at his friend’s house. he said it was a first person shooter and everything and that i would really like it. so i went out and bought it, and i am not disapointed. its just al around great with the best multyplayer options i have ever seen on a game. it is also cheap to. … it is definitily worth it. graphics are great, fun level GREAT. you have to buy this game.

Ok, the story’s a little cheesy, but it’s a great 1st person shooter, and the Geo-mod rocks! I don’t need keys anymore. Also, the game gets harder and harder and harder. While some people would throw their PS2 out the window during the last few msiions, I find it challenging. Save often is the secret to winning this game. The bosses are godlike in this game also. Incredibly hard. Only problem with this game is the controls, which reminded me of Resident Evil. Ugh! Oh well, I got used to it after a while.

I will start off by stating that anyone who owns a PS2 should immediately buy Red Faction. The Geo-Mod technology allows players to destroy ceilings, bridges, walls, and many other environmental objects. Not only is this extremely entertaining, from time to time becomes essential in order to progress in a certain level. The array of weapons is enough to make Frank Castle jealous, and the ability to hijack subs, tanks, hovercrafts, and machine gun-toting jeeps adds to the experience. In my opinion, this is the best shooter of all time (not to mention the multiplayer!!!) and is a must-have for any PS2 owner.
