This game is really good and worth your money if you like first person shooters. The game is cool just the multi-player got me hooked I haven’t never played the 1 player mode, but I know its gotta be a delight. This is a highly recomended game. It is good I can say, but I have to stop my likes!! This game isn’t that good for people to have to pay (the price) for it is just outrageous for this game.

Out of all the playstation games i have played this has to be the best! I really recommend this one! The cool thing about it is that you can do things like blow up walls and hide bodies. The only thing i dont like about this game is that it has to load during the game.

Not being a fan of first person shooters I was really surprised at how cool this game is! I really enjoyed how you play in a total 3D all direction type of game! The new Geo Mod is something that is long over due with first person shooters. If you dont like going one direction you can blow holes in the walls with explosives or your rocket launcher and go another way!Cool story line, I also really love the different type of vehicles you can use to run over or blow up the enemy! 4 out of 5 stars, if you are a first person shooter fan this is a must have!

Red Faction is easily one of the most enjoyable PS2 games around, mainly because it doesn’t hold conventional limits. In RF, if there is no door, you can make one by blowing up the wall. Find a locked door? No problem, if you have the firepower, you can "unlock" it. This is definitely a plus, considering that a locked door is never fun to be stuck with in a shooter. The setting for Red Faction is on Mars, hence the red scenery. You are joining a resistance army of renegade miners who want to rebel against the system. You quickly become part of the chaos, and the fun really begins. The enemies in RF are quite cumbersome, since they can duck behind walls, call for backup, and jump to avoid your firepower. The smart AI adds more challenge to RF. The weapons range from somple handguns, to rocket launchers, to plastic explosives. And they can be used for anything. Like I said, you clear your own path. The graphics are first rate, one of the best for a first-person shooter. Despite the sometimes murky environments, the visuals are crystal clear. The voice acting is a bit hokey at times, but it is not a central point in the game, like it was with shooters like "Max Payne". The music is hardly memorable, but with the intense action, you are unlikely to notice.RF is a stellar game for the PS2, and one which fans of "Perfect Dark" would love. What I loved most was the limitless areas of destruction. Virtually anything can be blown up. The story is not very d.

First off…yes, it is very good! This is the best SINGLE player shoot ’em up experience on the PS2. Again, I have played only around 5 hrs. so far but it was well worth the wait. Quick, some very minor negatives before I go further on about the positives of this game. The enemies take alot of lead before they die…with my standard pistol at an average distance it takes pretty much a whole clip to kill one bad guy..around 4-5 shots, that means lots of reloading. This isn’t that great of a multiplayer experience…only 2 players, no 4 player split screen…however bots are available in various numbers and difficulties. You wont play red faction multiplayer if you have either unreal, quake or timesplitters for the ps2…they are much better at this. The graphics are solid, the framerate is more than adequate, the bad guys beg you not to shoot them, then bust out a pistol and start blasting you, they also hide and run for cover behind corners and walls if under attack. As of now, this is as close to half-life for the ps2 your gonna get, in my opinion, it is a Must Have title.

THIS GAME ROCKS!! I PLAYED IT AND IT IS SUPER!! I HAVEN’T FINIshed it yet, but what I played was excellent and soooo new and never been in another game before! YOU CAN SHOOT ANYTHING AND IT WILL BE DESTROYED!! Buy this game no matter what kind of game you like! IT IS AWESOME!! The bazooka thing has an infra-red sensor so you can see people through walls!! THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!! rock on.

I just got this game today…It’s great. But I was expecting 60 frames per second, like timesplitters. But it’s about 30, and it doesn’t slow down that much. The graphics are good..and about that geo mod technology, you can’t destroy everything..Still, this game is great. Some great features is the ability to save your game anywhere. Awesome weapons, and smart AI too. Well I’m glad I bought this..it’s worth it.

Red Faction is a first person shooter set on Mars in the not-so-distant future. I have two words for you – deformable terrain! The game has amazing graphics, as you’d expect on a PS2, a decent soundtrack, and an involving storyline. You’re in a mining colony on Mars. The colony has a mysterious plague wiping people out, and an underground movement is pointing out that the mining corporation isn’t very ethical. So you get sucked into the revolution against the company, and are being helped out by the rebels. There’s really cool glass-shattering effects, submarines to ride in, Ultor Corporation baddies to blow away, and the plague to figure out. Lots of weapons and levels to plow through. But what makes this game so much better than its HalfLife siblings is the TERRAIN. In say HalfLife or most other games of this ilk, you shoot a wall and it gets charred. You can leave bullet holes in things, or maybe shoot out the window. Red Faction brings this to an ENTIRELY new level by letting you MODIFY THE TERRAIN with your attacks.Yes, this means if someone has locked a door you want to get through, you blast out the wall next to the door and go through the hole you’ve made! Know that the room below you has something special in it? Blast a hole into the floor! Trying to negotiate across a room? Be careful, because your enemies could cave the floor in beneath you!It turns what was before a “go through this maze in THIS order” kind of game into a “you have this huge 3D space, use your brain.

As far as FPS go this has got to be one of the most in-depth and most amazingly beautiful games I have played on the PS2. This game is very involved and provides a well written story as well. Red faction is extremely fluid and has the cool feature of being able to blow up just about anything, and being a DOOM graduate this game is a fresh breath to FPS. This game has alot to offer, the only problem I had with this game was the learning curve both with the controller and when you try a higher difficulty level. It tends to be a bit steep. There is a ton of replay value as well with this game, so if you don’t have this one in your library go out and get this one NOW! You will not be disappointed.

I have played this game from beginning to end. At first I was not so sure if I would like the whole mars environment, but after playing and getting further along in the game, its worth it. The movement is very easy and the game is not so overly difficult as to take away from the enjoyment of it. Being able to save whenever you want is a plus as well. The graphics are great, and even though you cannot destroy everything, that is not a problem at all or does not take away from the game as a whole. I recommend this game to anyone who likes action adventure type of games. This is definitely one of the best out there.
