Resident Evil: Revelations attempts to return to the more survival horror roots of the series and does so pretty well. The story is decent and at times cheesy much like the rest of the series. The setting is what makes this game unique and does allow for some tense gameplay. However, the game is at times just an action-oriented TPS and those parts of the game don’t blend well with the rest of the game. When you are playing as Jill and alone, this game shines and although the gunplay and reticle are not on par with previous titles, the isolation and fear do set in. Overall this is a decent game and was a port from the 3DS so considering this, it is a worthy installment and seems to understand fans’ concerns about the loss of the survival horror gameplay and for the most part delivers that. The same complaints I had before are still present as well though, like the over reliance on quick time events and an unreliable dodge mechanic. A good time, but not a very long game either. 4/5

Very good. Was happy to play this after disappointment that was Resident Evil 6. This is much more "Resident Evil 4" style of play, if not the dark wonderful atmosphere of 4. Worth multiple playthrough s.
One of my fave
Great game, lacks of the graphical beauty of RE 5 & 6, but understandable for a game adapted from portable platforms. However, it’s a title that deserves a high ranking due to it’s great playability and atmosphere that resembles the original Resident Evil 3 or less Survival Horror games, but keeping the evolved control mechanics of the modern Resident Evil 4 or more Action Games. A real masterpiece that must be among the catalogue of every RE fan.
This game is so nice. I played it with the lights off and the sounds are scary alone. The enemies are numerous and lethal and when you run low on ammo, it actually means something. The story is intricate and full of twists and turns. This is what Resident Evil should be.

When I played Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS last year, I was surprised how good it was. For money reasons, I had to sell my 3DS and part ways with Resident Evil Revelations. So here I am jumping up and down for joy with the long awaited console port. How does it compare with the original game? Perfect… with enhancements added. How is it compare to the classic Resident Evil games? Well, its my third favorite in the entire franchise (Resident Evil 2 then Resident Evil Gamecube remake come before). Here is why: The biggest thing is that it’s atmosphere fires on all cylinders when the time is right. The enemies are challenging and creepy, the way they move is unsettling. A couple of the best bosses in Resident Evil history can be found here; and they are absolutely terrifying (I think there is a little bit of Fatal Frame inspiration on one of them). But, is it a perfect Resident Evil-survival horror game? Sadly no. When your playing the side missions, it breaks up the tension. But, at least it outshines Resident Evil 5 and 6 in the action and enjoyment department. So, I will break it down for you…Pros:-Metroidvania style cruise ship (Capcom hasn’t designed a layout like this since Resident Evil 2)-The mobility is perfect (Resident Evil 4 and 5 with the needed hold your aim and move)-The long awaited atmosphere returns with the Spencer Mansion like tight corridors on a cruise ship-How you upgrade your weapons is addicting-Disturbing enemies and fantastic bosses-Item bo.
There’s some missables, but thanks to an endless and enjoyable replay, this is moot. There’s a lot of backtracking to make the game seem artificially long, but considering this is a DS port, they did an awesome job on the gameplay, especially the inventory sustem, making it a great title to replay even if you played the DS version, or to discover for the first time if you haven’t. The item find system was helpful, but it also slowed the pace somewhat. The game would have been a little faster if items were already visible on the ground rather than having to scan everywhere for them- the only reason this is a 4-star and not a 5-star game. Looking forward to RE:R2 ^^

I choose this rating because it is a master piece of a game. My son and I love to play the resident Evil games. It is full of adventure, surprises and solving mysteries. I do recommend it for all Resident Evil game lovers.

This game was so much better than I expected, feels like a classic resident evil game and it’s very fun to play. About a week of campaign gameplay depending on how much time you spend gaming, I did a couple of episodes per day. Anyways very worth it, ordered this and 6….This ones better

I was very happy when I heard that they have made a version of this game for PS3/360 as some people claim that it is even better than Resident Evil 6. Therefore I got this game the day it came out. After finishing the story on the normal mode and doing a few raid missions here is how I feel.******************************Pros**************************************- Survival horror + action gameplay: I would say Resident Evil 6 is about 20% survival horror and rest action but this game is about 70% survival horror and rest action. I am really happy that Capcom decided to make a survival horror in this day and age after moving pretty much completely away from it. As for me, since I like both survival horror and action gameplays, I loved this game.-Awesome bosses and decent enemies: This is what I liked the most about this game. When I finished this game about 50%, I was worried because I didn’t encounter many bosses but afterwards most of the chapters rewarded me with pretty awesome bosses. I especially liked last two boss fights and a boss in the middle of the game (don’t want to ruin the surprise). The enemy quality in this game was decent, but personally I like RE6 enemies much better.- Creepy resident evil 1 like setting: This game takes place (for the most part) on an abandoned ship. I loved how they have designed the ship. A good mixture of dark, creepy, isolated and yet elegant and authentic. It is supposed to be a luxury ship so the parts of the ship are great looking. Ha.
