If you love any type of music games, this is the one to own!! I think they have something like 4,000 downloadable songs to add to your rock band selection, i have friends over and we play this, and never play the same song twice if we dont want too!!! Excellent game

My department at work decided to have a battle of the bands contest and used Rock Band 3 for this. Someone had multiple guitars plus the microphone and drumset. It created an awesome party atmosphere for a bunch of people who are in their 40s and up. If you’ve never played, it takes some practice to master the guitar, bass and drum skills required. I found the singing portion to be fun and not too hard but I can carry a tune to some extent. I have ordered this game for my home use and a microphone. I’ll be looking for a drumset and guitar to enhance the fun but just the microphone will be fun for me. I see that it offers a professional play feature but I haven’t checked out anything above “beginner”.

After updating the game it became 100% playable. Initially I found it impossible to go through career mode with the new Pro-Keys mode because most songs don’t have keyboard parts. My first couple of games had me sitting watching the game play itself because there was nothing for me to do (but you couldn’t skip the game).. After the update that problem pretty much went away..The tutorial mode is excellent and being able to really learn an instrument is fantastic.. I’m still working on my muscle memory but the game is perfectly paced to keep you moving forward and learning all at the same time. It can feel like work at some points but its much nicer then playing scales for hours on end..I’d def recommend it..

Alright, so the music game genre has been played out for some time now, however every time you’re get together with friends and somebody starts playing RB, the tendency for it to turn into a sesh is always existent. You end up playing for an hour or more and it always ends up being good fun. RB3 has a good song selection off the disc, and a humongous catalog of dlc. There is a ton of options in this game from customization of characters to song customization and plenty of ways to jam from guitar to keyboard to vocals, which have all been made better since the beginning of the franchise. I don’t have the real guitar setup or the other peripherals to make a judgement on how well that part of the game is on helping you “play for real” but knowing it’s there tells me they tried to pack in as much as they could to let you be a part of your favorite musical experiences. Graphics are very appealing and the animations are also pretty awesome, and have definitely been taken up a notch from the previous games. Even the online features work well and if you are a fanatic, you could definitely be playing this for a while. My only gripe is that for 20 bucks, you basically can only download 10 songs. It seems like a lot to me because you can go through them fast, and there really isn’t anything added to the game other than achievements that may be tied to them or parts that may include being able to “play for real.” To put it in simpler terms, I paid 18 bucks for the game itself, and have a.

I suppose as with any sequel there are some nice improvements but also unnecessary drawbacks. I’ll go with a good, bad and ugly style format for my review.NOTE: I haven’t played pro drums or pro guitar so I won’t comment on those features.*********************THE GOOD*********************USER-FRIENDLINESS* A completely streamlined, straightforward and improved playing system. You can now continue to play a song after failing, adjust the difficulty mid-song and people can drop in or out while a song is going on. In all this is a much needed improvement over RB2 and helps to keep things going at parties or with friends, especially if “beverages” are involved.GRAPHICS* The graphics and artistic style are great and help make you feel as though you’re an actual rock stud. Easily the best of any music/rhythm game.NEW GAME MODES* Pro modes add in an extra level of difficulty for seasoned veterans, though admittedly the cost of entry for the new instruments is pretty prohibitive and as such will only be experienced by the very hard-core music gaming enthusiasts.QUICKPLAY* You now earn fans while in quickplay making that mode feel more meaningful than in past installments and quickplay overall has more sorting features and much easier to navigate.NEW CHALLENGES* The little challenges in setlists are nice additions and give you something extra to earn. For instance, you may have to hit all the notes in certain stretches or see how many times you can activate star power. It’s been done.

I couldn’t find this game anywhere around my area, so I resorted to buying it online. It doesn’t have the hype and "touring on the road" feeling that RB2 had, but the songs are pretty fun to play, and I feel it is much more accurate than previous game. It also was delivered when expected. Overall, no issues here.

My other Rock Band guitars from the original game have stopped working due to extensive use, so I was able to pick up a new controller from a shop on Craigslist.com. Unfortunately, I forgot about and did not realize I was getting a Pro controller, which only works with the Rock Band 3 game. After ordering and receiving this game, I was able to test out the guitar, which, to my surprise, works great! However, attempting to play on pro mode is pretty tough for someone who has little to no guitar experience. I can’t speak for the game play and music tracks yet, but it is a powerful and good teacher for how to use the Pro guitar controller. I’ve loved the previous Rock Band games, and have no doubt that this one will follow in their footsteps.

RB 3 is full of great songs, the only downside is that some of the best ones require you to purchase them before you can play them. Kind of a letdown when you get excited to play them and then realize you have to pay more for a game you already played a lot for…

Best to belt out the tunes when your half drunk and dont care if the neighbors here you.
