  1. Transformation

I am a Xbox 360 game player and only like third person games. I think that Sleeping Dogs is one of the best third person games out right now for Xbox 360. I just recently got the game & only been playing it for a few days now, but what I have play so far I will like it a lot. This is my style of game. I will enjoy games like Godfather, Grand Theft Auto, LA Noir, Saint Row & now Sleeping Dogs. I like the side missions, the fighting styles, how well the driving controls work. & the different stunts. If you like third person game then Sleeping Dog is worth the money and putting into your game collection and playing again.

It’s got it fair share of issues but this was one of my sleeper hits for 2012.The fighting added a breath of fresh air to the sandbox GTA genre. The voice acting was also nicely done and there are plenty of missions to keep you busy. The storyline is also really interesting, having to play as both good cop and undercover gang member. I’ve since sold my Xbox buy I’m looking to pick it up again on the next Steam sale and go through it more thoroughly. I just beat the main story but didn’t collect everything.Really a lot of fun and you can’t go wrong with this game if you want something different than GTA.

  3. Ron Aybara

CAME AS DESCRIBED and in time frame

  4. Leroy

I really had fun with this one especially since my expectations weren’t that high. I was expecting more of GTA/ Saints row clone but this one makes its own mark with a engrossing look into the world of the Yakuza.

  5. Wes Porter

I love this game! It is like Grand Theft Auto on speed! The cars move at high speeds that I have never seen in a Grand Theft Auto type video game before… You can jump from one vehicle to another while flying down the street at top speeds! How can you even argue about that? Everything is like grand theft auto and it has several more activities and fighting styles that you can pick up and learn! You can upgrade your character to learn several different martial arts moves and takedowns! You can upgrade your police level, your gangster triad level, you’re driving level and your martial arts level! This game is incredible! It’s like Saints Row, grand theft auto, crackdown and some awesome martial arts game all in one! And if you like gangster games, you will love it!

A little buggy but a solid story and very fun game play… Definitely pick it up

  7. The Great Penguin Adventure

A friend of mine had been talking up Sleeping Dogs for about a month and my interest was piqued, but the reviews were somewhat mixed and the discussion boards were awfully slow. Then I played the demo…like 10 times. I was hooked and just in time: retrolio lowered their price to $39.99 (I missed the gold box deal!).I have not been disappointed and think I would still be happy with the purchase at full price. I’ll skip the editorial with one exception: I was never a fan of GTA, they are fun games but not really my cup of tea, so I’m not comparing SD to GTA. The only other game with shooting involved that I’ve played in the last few years is RDR, but I’m not comparing Sleeping Dogs to that either. The core of Sleeping Dogs is the combat and it is executed so well that I can only hope Square-Enix makes a franchise of it. The driving and shooting are slightly less successful, but not enough to keep me from recommending the game. The more I play the more comfortable the driving feels, but it still feels a little unresponsive at times. Despite this, the racing events are very fun – tight turns, narrow alleys, and a decent soundtrack come together in an exhilarating experience. My only real gripe about the shooting is that some mission makes it a necessity – I think it would have been great to be able to complete the game without ever using a firearm. It’s most entertaining during chases, but that’s when it feels the most strained. The story is short – this is the main reason.

My 16 year old is devouring it, but I get to watch – too busy too play. It is mature content, so this is in no way and endorsement of that – each has to make that choice for themselves – I wouldn’t get it for your teenager without a good bit of research and maturity first. I see issues – the game is not perfect – but it more than makes up for it by storyline elements, gameplay choices, and options, and realistic graphics and examples of Hong Kong that absolutely ‘Pop’. Pure escapism, without slaying dragons, flying into BioShock land, or slander George Washington, for goodness sakes. Reminds me of a cross between Grand Theft Auto, the Fast and the Furious movies, Triad/Yakuza action films, and the drug-running trade with martial arts thrown in. And those are just the game elements folks – they use all of that to make some good gameplay with a cohesive story.

  9. Rez

It’s like GTA. The graphics are really good, and the fight system is beautiful to watch. Makes you feel like a real superhero. I’ll be playing this game for a while, and attempting to be the King of Hong Kong. A must get if you like GTA style games!

  10. packie

This game rocked! I was unsure about it at first because it was started as a True Crime game and that series was not very fun in my opinion. If you are a Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, or Assassins Creed fan stop reading and buy this. I was on the fence about it because I wasn’t sure about the fighting style and lack of weapon choice throughout the game so I waited until black Friday for a really good deal and took a chance on it. I can’t wait for the second one. Oh and if you like DLC all of it is incredibly cheap and adds hours of game play, hundreds of clothing options, and plenty of extra armament. Get this game!
