This game deserved more attention I think. It has the feel of gta but a unique plot and really fun gameplay. Undercover cop in China with a gta feel…. Its pretty awesome

Late to review but if you enjoy sand-box games, this little gem is worth a look. In this GTA-meets-Shenmue title, be ready to live ‘Hard-Boiled’ (Hong Kong movie reference) to the max, with driving, shooting, and martial-arts action galore. This game was a total surprise (a good one!) and immediately moved to the top of my ‘recommend-to-friends’ list.

I was a little skeptical in purchasing this game due to the many delays this game had in being released, but was pleasantly surprised. It definitely has a lot of GTA elements, but in a Hong Kong setting. I thought the story line and the voice acting were great. It’s like watching a great Hong Kong action movie. The driving mechanics is a lot GTA plus you can carjack someone as well. The fighting was pretty easy to master and the different side missions definitely added some elements to the game. My only complaint, which is minor, is when given a weapon it doesn’t lock on to your opponent. Also maybe hook up with one of the female characters he encounters. Overall, this is a great game and would definitely recommend it.

I do enjoy some open world games like Arkham City, Red Dead Redemption, the Assassin’s Creeds and Fallouts, but I’m like alot of other reviewers on here in that I did not enjoy or care for any of the GTA or Saints Row series games at all. Sleeping Dogs, though, is one of the best and most enjoyable games, of any genre, I’ve ever played. This has everything from a nice storyline, awesome graphics, realism, and fighting mechanics that rival any other game ever put out on XBox. The open world is huge and since you are an undercover cop, there are so many side missions from the criminal and police angles. The game runs so smooth; I’ve only encountered 1 glitch when trying to access the apartment wardrobe, but it’s easo;u remedied by saving, returning to main menu and continue gameplay.I bought it used: like new from retrolio Warehouse for somewhere in the neighborhood of $34, after playing it, I’d have no problem paying $59.99 brand new. This game is well worth the money, you get lots of fun gameplay out of it. Pick it up, I can’t imagine anybody regretting buying Sleeping Dogs.

What can I say about "Sleeping Dogs?" There are so many words, I can’t even describe it. I don’t think I have enough room in this tiny little box for all my high praise. There is high raise for this and only for this type of game. We need more games like this in our home libraries. "Sleeping Dogs" came out of nowhere right at the beginning of the pack. When there was a lack of great games to come out last summer, this one saved the day. It changed the way video games are made and played. A true Masterpiece. The characters, the game play, the graphics are unmatched and unprecedented. A form of computer art and artistry. (Sorry Roger Ebert but video games can be art … so there fat boy. :)) It should be in a video game Smithsonian.

I have to say I love this game. It’s an open world game with a ton of missions and side quest. Sleeping Dogs has a great story that kept me hooked! There’s a bunch of hand to hand fighting, and you can use the skills you learn in take on massive groups of thugs ala Batman Arkum City style. Gun play is limited but fun, especially when driving! Blowing out the tires of a car, truck, bus, or motorbike cause some of the coolest moment in the game. You play as an undercover cop, and have to balance your actions to keep both sides of the law impressed. Why I call this the Enter the New Dragon the fighting is simple and deep at the same time. Taking on large groups of thugs using your hand to hand skills or the environment is a joy. Hong Kong is a great backdrop for this action packed game.I enjoyed it from start to finish, and highly recommend playing it!

This game is great and very creative, and it provides a refreshing experience by being different from other games (yet also feeling familiar in a good way).It follows the same combat system as Batman: Arkham City/Asylum, and it is pretty simple to master. Throughout the game you can pick up different moves by finding collectibles. The gun fighting is also pretty good. Since it is set in Hong Kong (which doesn’t have many guns), a good portion of the game is fought hand to hand. The gun shooting incorporates a slow motion feature, so that makes it fun and easier to survive the fight.Overall, I would definitely suggest this game!

i love this game, hehe just cuz i was actual character in here hahah

  9. Ghost Mutt

I loved this game. You get about 20 or more hours from this game. All depends if you want to do the side missions. Great game. Combat is good but not great at first but later in the game you get martial art upgrades which make the combat even more fun. Not many guns in this game though. About 10-12 or less. But makes sense since it doesn’t take place in America but in Hong Kong where it’s illegal to obtain but you will find plenty of gun combat. This game is a steal since it only cost 30 dollars for the Xbox 360. But look at for the dlc. It’s fun but pricey for story content. I personal played this game for about 35 hours. Including the dlc story content that it has and doing 100% of the story mission and all the races and just going around shooting anything and anyone I can find. So much fun.

This game is just as awesome as any other sandbox games like Grand Theft Auto 4 and Just Cause 2. I’d buy it and add it to my collection of sandbox games!! You won’t regret it.
