Smuggler’s Run makes you the driver of a dune buggy who can go wherever and do whatever he wishes. You have the freedom of hitting neumerous animals and people and watching them go well over 20 feet. Satisfying and interesting. Too bad they take animals and pedestrians out on 2P Mode.
This game is a lot of fun and will keep you on your toes. I like the graphics and the story is interesting as well. The controls aren’t that hard and the surprises just keep coming with every new thing you have to do. My twelve and thirteen year old boys are having fun trying to beat this game and it has proved to be fun for the parents as well. I also like it because it seems like it will take a while to get past all of it, so it should be hours of fun for the price. A good buy.
I don’t think this game is great but it certainly is a good gameIt’s seems like a cool idea to have other gangs chasing and fightin with you but they really don’t have to much to deal with as far as the other gangs are conserned. Its cool when you fight as a team though. Some boards are really easy and some can get really tricky but overall its a good game.
Hey this is my first review but I’m glad to be doing it on this game. I haven’t bought Smuggler’s Run yet, but I plan to. This is a very interesting game. I think (for car lovers especially) that it will amaze you. It’s not a game that you’ll beat right away because of the continual difficulty of the missions. But even if you do, you still have the turf war, joyride, and capture the flag. This is a game similar to Midnight Club Street Racing. Basicly they’re the same game just one’s outdoors and one’s cities. So it depends which one you like. thanks…
Rockstar is the king of game development for the PS2. Now that some of these “older” games are becoming cheaper, they provide a great bang for the buck.This game is really good when you have more than one person around, because two players can play head to head, which is a lot of fun.The missions are really interesting, and get pretty challenging. I recommend reading a faq from someone who has completed the game,(…)P>This is one of those games that you can play over and over, I highly recommend it.

Think "Driver" meets "Vigilante 8" and you’ve got a pretty good idea of how this game works. The excitememnt and high speed chases of (a wilderness) "Driver" and the crash em’ up "what’s physics got to do with it" of "V-8". This is a really impressive piece of work; here’s why:SIZE. . . The maps are MASSIVE. . . They seem to go on forever, and for the first half hour of play I thought that they wrapped around like in the old Atari days. . . Nope, they’re just really flippin’ huge! It could litterally take you 10 minutes to get from one side to the other. Want to climb a mountain? You can, and then you can look around at things that will actually take time to get to. . .DETAIL. . . Everywhere you look, theres just lots of, well, STUFF. You hit a stream and it goes on and on and on. . . You hit the highway and it stretches out for miles. . . You hit a pedestrian and, well, I don’t want to spoil everything.PRICE. . . I’ve paid almost this much for PS1 games in the past that have still only been played for 15 minutes. This is one of those that, even if you don’t play the mission mode, you will continue to pull out every few days and just allow yourself to be impressed by a video game.Why 4 stars and not 5? It’s not perfect. The physics is a little conservative for me. Mind you, I’m not complaining. I’d have given up looooong ago if I actually died every time I deserved to in this game. This is only the 2nd PS2 game I have played so far so i dont have that much to compare it to. I think the game is fun , it has a great concept. If you could imagine a football game played with vechicles instead of people, then you would have the idea. The 1 player mode gets stale after a while, but it is an excellent 2 player game. I think this game is a cross between Driver and road rash with a touch of need for speed. Unlike other driving games you can pretty much throw away the rule book on this one.
wow. lots of fun. pros:pretty original concept.*great control over the cars.*best party game, ever.*enormous levels. they seem to go on forever.*realistic everything. environment, car dynamics, etc…*very high replay value.*cool car sounds! hahacons:*lackluster graphics. not too great, but not bad at all. youstop noticing they [are bad] an hour after you start it.*no cops in the joy ride mode.*repetitive missions… sorta just doing the same things overlong distances, but with different themes. don’t get me wrong,they’re all fun.all in all, it’s a really fun game, and if you’ve got a ps2it’s definetly one for the library.
This is a great game. The only problem is my Playstation. I’ve bought a few copies of this game. The orginal got scratched up. The others never worked in my Playstation. So i think it’s just my Playstation. I work recomend this game. I am not saying it won’t work. My system is just messed up. I love this game though.

Smugglers Run is a very fun game. It includes three vass terains (Winter, Forest, and Desert). This Game has countless hour of gameplay in it. You can even hit Deer, Wolves, Bears,Cats, People, Boarder Patrol, Hikers. The reason that I didn’t give this Game A 5, is that it doesn’t unlock the full potential of the Playstation 2. If you want to see the full potential of your PS2 then buy either Maden 2001, or SSX both have ungodly great Grafix. Overall this is a great game and should be a part of everyones collection.

I rented this game and it toke me a whole weekend to get to misson 32, and let me tell you once you get around misson 18 and up they get 110% harder. The cops increase in number as your deadline time decreases. Once you get to the desert missions your not only chased by boarder patrol officers but Army and CIA also, and they will do anything to stop you from completing your mission. There are pretty much 3 different types of missions pick up and drop off the goods, checkpoint races(very hard), and team battles(you have up to 3 buddys to help you). The joyriding is cool but gets boring fast. This is a great game to rent but just isn’t worth the 50 bucks it costs to buy.

This game is just like crazy taxi except you don’t have to stop to pick anybody up. The arrow is the same, you just have to drive and pick things up and drop them off. No stopping, find the triangle of lights and drive through it. One problem, you got cops to worry about, they can ram you like there is no tomorrow. You can run over deer, run into RV’s and watch the driver fly through the window, and many more. It’s fun and challenging.

A hybrid of the realism of Driver and the sick twisted objectives of GTA comes an unexpectedly cool Smuggler’s Run. I’m the first to admit that…sure the drug smuggling and being chased by cops while trying to deliver the goods is great and exciting, but what I really enjoyed was the joyriding. Just driving responsibly and WHAM, run over a hiker. Or WHAM a train. Or flying down a snowy hill to ram a camper van into a frozen lake. Oh it’s fun. A Tipper favorite for sure. All it needs to make it a perfect game is a little more GTA blood and guns sprinkled with some Twisted Metal/ Vigilante 8 massive weapons of destruction. I bought three other games at launch: Tekken,Orphen,and Ridge Racer but Smuggler’s Run has taken up the bulk of my gameplay time. BUY IT.

This game is fantastic in terms of playability and visuals. It’s great to look at and the freedom you have to go 4×4 anywhere you want to on the map is a blast. The 2-player version is a riot, I haven’t had that much fun or laughed that hard in a long time.My only beef is with the 1-player game. The mission gets ridiculously hard after a little while. By the time you get to mission 11 and on, some of the scenarios are practically impossible to beat. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with having to play a level 3-5 times to get past it, so challenge is a good thing. But when you get to 15-20 attempts, it starts to get old. The police are faster than you, have stronger cars than you, and outnumber you 10-1. They gang up on you relentlessly. Even that could be overcome if you only had enough time. But the game makes it so you barely have enough time to speed from pickup to dropoff, and you must take an almost direct route. You don’t have the freedom to try to evade the cops because you don’t have time.Overall, a great game and a recommended buy, but don’t be surprised if you slam your controller down in frustration more than a few times.

This is a great racing game, expansive terrain to just drive around if you choose to do so. Or you can choose to do the missions, which get increasingly harder. It is best played single person as two player is a split screen. Kids love it. Altho rated for teens is a great game for the whole family, except for the language when playing the missions which is not geared for kids, and in my opinion is not necesary. This game is a little like driver, but not with city driving. My family enjoys playing tag in the two player drive about mode. All in all we give Smugglers run 4 stars.

This is the coolest game yet for the playstation 2 and a must have for all you fans of fastdriving police outrunning crooks out there who just love to push those games to the limit and have as much fun as possible while playing.
