Spider Man 2

Spider Man 2 is a 2004 video game based on the movie of the same name. Published by Activision, the console versions were developed by Treyarch, while the others had different developers and are drastically different as a result. However, the game is the sequel to Spider-Man itself based on the movie of the same name. The Treyarch-developed versions are considered a landmark title in the industry for being the first superhero video game to incorporate a full open world design.

All versions of the game closely follow the film’s plot, but expand upon it by including scenes and characters not appear in the movie. Set two years after the events of Spider Man 2, the game finds Peter Parker struggling to manage both his personal life and his duties as Spider-Man. When scientist and Peter’s mentor, Dr. Otto Octavius, becomes the diabolical villain Doctor Octopus after an accident, Spider-Man must stop him from recreating a dangerous fusion power experiment.

The game was release on June 28, 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advance and GameCube, follow by N-Gage and Nintendo DS versions, both release later in the same year.

  1. Eli Sanchez

This is arguably THE BEST Superhero game. This game holds up amazingly well and after all this time, I still feel as great web zipping through New York as I did when I got this game many years ago.

  2. *****

Let me make this clear, I’ve read some of the reviews on here and unlike most of them, I’ll explain why it deserves a 5 out of 5.This is the very first Spider-Man game where you actually utilize all of his powers and abilities. The biggest hurdle was the ability to web swing and I’ll have to say that the physics envolved with that is top notch. That over-rides any graphics flaws that some have pointed out.You have to keep in mind that if they FOCUSED on amazing graphics, then one of two things would happen:A – The price point of the game would go upB – The playing environment would shrinkC – The game engine (fun factor) would be limitedIf you consider the fact that they have in-game movies that scoots you along the film’s story line and that you can team up with Black Cat, I’d say that makes for a well rounded game. You know a game is good when just swinging around the city and performing acrobatic feats will keep you amused. The civilian missions do get repetitive though. They try to throw in some variety there with saving a balloon for a kid and delivering pizza. Other than that, for once in my video game life, I actually felt like I was the web slinger himself. That’s how good this game is. If you actually read his comic books, then you won’t be disappointed. They have his moves and attacks on point!

  3. Jamie Williams

My son was extremely happy we were able to locate this game for him. An older playstation game and it appeared to be in the original packaging. The outer case was in excellent condition.

  4. Alejandro Cornejo

The game was in great condition for a used game. I give it five stars.

  5. jason a brown

  6. Ryan

Best game I’ve ever played with no problems whatsoever.

  7. John Phelps

This is still one of the best movie based games ever made!Despite ugly graphics, the game is a blast to play with lots of side missions.I recommend this game to anyone who loves Spider-Man!

  8. Jason Gamino

Awesome game and MUCH better than any prior Spider Man game. This title loosely follows the movie but in actuality, I liked this games script much better than the film. You get to see other characters from the Spider Man universe and it follows the comic books better than the movie does. Free roaming the entire city of New York as the webslinger? 100% AWESOME

  9. Daniel cruz

One of the best ps2 games ever. And also beat Spiderman game so far (in my opinion). I remember playing this game for hours because there was so much to do. Didn’t feel unfinished or flawed. Felt like its exactly what it needed to be.

  10. P. Estwick

I was really eager to get my controls on this one.. and There are several improvements over the first one…like the ability to walk on the streets HA !! It is a little repetitive with the missions.. but I do enjoy playin it..Let me say I am yet to get to the %100 but I have beaten the Doc, not that easy…but on my way to more goodies i hope.So far I am a somewhat disappointed, it has so much potential and hopefully I can return to report that my satisfaction has improved… I was blown away by the first one and this one is filled with promise…over all enjoyable with hopefully lots more extras that I simply have not found yet…I will be fair and let you all know If I am more pleased @ 100% and beyond.P.
