Overall, Star Trek Elite Force is a pretty standard game, nothing extremely fancy, and nothing falls short. While it is by far the best Star Trek game ever release, that doesn’t say much about the embarrassing series. Star Trek uses the Quake 3 engine, so the graphics are up to par, and the AI is well balanced. The single player is somewhat short, about 10 hours of gameplay, but it is still fun and exiting, with the exeption of some cheesy moments that have become a tradition in the TV series. The game takes place on Voyager, so you can expect to see some annoying characters such as Tuvok and Captain Janeway, as well as some not so annoying people like Seven of Nine (shall we say, shall we say). The multiplayer in this game, however, is in my opinion, a COMPLETE copy off of Quake 3 Arena. The deathmatch, the CTF, the announcements, its all there. Not to say that isnt a bad thing, Q3A is an outstanding game, I’m just surpised at the simalarities. The only difference is that the Elite Force version has the skills toned down a little, for beginners. I would recomend this game to any newbie interested in the shooter genre, for its relatively simple gameplay, and low price. Hardcore gamers might be interested as well to get this cheifly to buy the outstanding expansion pack.
Star Trek: Elite Force is an excellent Star Trek Adventure. It puts you in the role of a member of the crew who’s job is a leader of a sort of S.W.A.T. team. The game starts out with a simulation aboard a Borg ship. The graphics are very nicely done in this sequence and continue to be so throughout the entire game. You then get a chance to walk around Voyager on your way to a job duty. It looks and sounds just like the television show. It is awesome. The individual missions are well written and are very exciting. You will get to protect voyager from intruders as well as protecting other team members on away missions. Elite Force also features multiplayer options, like Unreal Tournament and Quake III. The levels are nicely drawn and they seem to run even faster than the actual game. I am running the game on a Celeron 400 with 64 megs of RAM and a Voodoo 4 with 32 megs. It is quite choppy at times, especially if there are a lot of enemies in the room at the same time. I am not sure if it is my machine to blame or if a patch is needed. Despite those flaws, this is one of the best Star Trek games ever. It has been a long time coming. Play long and prosper!

I was really impressed with Voyager Elite Force. Excellent graphics really make you feel like you’re on board Voyager. Great interaction with the rest of the characters, very detailed alien ships and cool weapons. Only minor cons I found were the various swicthes and items you interact with wouldn’t always respond right away and the appearance of enemies that would attack you got to be a bit predictable. However, it has great multi-player options, with different types of games (DM, CTF) and lots of additional maps are available. I highly recommend Voyager Elite Force!
As successful as the Star Trek franchise has been, I have always been amazed at how bad Trek computer games are. This one, however, is awesome. Rather than just repeat what others have already pointed out, let me summarize…Cool stuff: * Using the holodeck to practice with new weapons on gunslingers in the old west or knights of Camelot. * Choosing to be a male or female character. * Finally a "logical" explanation for how you can possibly haul around all that gear: a portable transporter buffer. Your weapons simply materialize! * Taking a character’s-eye-view ride on the transporter. * The borg! * and a quite engaging storyCould be improved… * Weapons are fairly typical, though the blast graphics are awesome. * Very linear gameplay. I actually like this, but others may not.
Old game and graphics, but it is still fun to play and be back in the Delta Quadrant with Captain Janeway and the crew of the USS Voyager.
This is without question the best Star Trek game ever made – period – and the first-person shooter aspect makes it even better. The graphics are very nice to look at (it utilizes the Quake 3 engine), as are the weapons and dialogue between the characters. This game will probably be a little on the easy side for experienced gamers, since it offers few challenging puzzles. At the same time, however, the pace is quick enough to keep veterans interested and keep inexperienced players on the edge of their seat. Very well balanced for everyone concerned.The only downside to this game is the system requirements. You have to have a very sweet computer to run this game. I have a P III 750 mhz with 128 megs of RAM and a Voodoo 3 and there were still a few instances when the game action got very sluggish. Anyone with an older computer should probably stay away from the game, unless you want to set the graphics detail to the lowest setting, but even then you’ll probably run into problems. It’s too bad, really, that the game is so demanding, since it could have been almost perfect if it weren’t for the system requirements.All in all, if you have a good computer, it is definitely a great game to purchase, regardless of if you’re a Star Trek fan or not.
The shop was retrolio. It works fine on my PC running Windows XP Home SP3.Elite Force is a first person shooter game. I replayed Elite Force recently, and it was still fun. I also have the expansion pack and Elite Force 2.Things I like about Elite Force:* Star Trek gameplay* graphics are good for its time (think year 2000 graphics, not modern day)* voice acting is great (Star Trek actors were used)* story is decent (plays like an episode of the TV series)Things I don’t like about Elite Force:* sound is too loud during cut scenes (doesn’t respond to in-game sound options)* teammates get in the way* waiting for teammates to catch-up* can’t skip cut scenes or dialogue* too many elevatorsThere are a few overused phrases like: “They know we’re here now”, and “How many are there?”The final boss fight is really tough. Star Trek Voyager Elite Force is quite fun. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. The only thing negative is that the “used” product did not come with a CD key which means I cannot play it online. However, given the age of the game, it is likely that no one plays it online anyway. The single player is a lot of fun and it was well worth buying.
I am exited for this game because it has the Quake III Arena ingine under the hood. Let me remind you the Quake III engine is a work of art. Soo smooth and pretty. The network code isnt like Counter-Strike’s but that is because it is a all out fastpaced and graphic filled wonder. OK soo what about that. The game play will be great in this Trek of all Treks. The framrates will be smooth and action will be intense. The sound will emerse you with full sourround sound. It will be interesting seeing how they pull off the enviroments. The Q3A engine hasent been tested like the Unreal engine has for large, expansive areas.I recamend this because i truly believe any Star Treker with a good system will enjoy playing as a character in their show. =Þ

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit system, and this game plays flawlessly on it. What a surprise for a ten year old game. At first when the disc was loaded, a warning flashed up saying that I needed a different version of the game, either a 32 or 64 bit version, which of course does not exist.But I was able to go to the disc files and click on autorun, it then loaded onto the computer, giving me a screen icon which I was then able to right click on, accessing the “compatability mode”. After that, smooth sailing.And the best thing is, that with today’s computers, even an average one, you can play the game at full force with all the options cranked up as high as they will go.I’ve played it once without installing the available patch, then again after intstalling it. Both ways work great.

I have had this game for awhile. I still go back and play it once in awhile the single player version. However there is a multiplayer battle game also available. If you like the star trek voyager serious then I would suggest getting this game. However if you like first person shooter games you may still like this as well. I just recently installed this game on Windows 7 professional 32bit version it runs just fine on it. Even though it on the back its for Windows 95/98/NT SP5/ Win2K. I did not set the compatibility for it either. However others might have to do just that depending.

WOW! What an incredible game this is! The best fpc ever released in my opinion. Even Halflife has it’s job cut out against this one! Superior graphics, the best A.I. to date and totally realistic Startrek weaponry, not to mention an excellent and engrossing storyline. The game is actually a difficult one to beat, there are some puzzles that are very challenging. Anyone, who says this game is way too easy is definitely using cheats and/or a walkthrough. Get this game today! It is more than worth the money!

I downloaded the demo of this, tried it, thought, -eh- and went my merry way. However, a couple of months later a coworker came in raving to me about it, so I said OK, OK, I’ll try it.Good decision. For … you just can’t beat this. I’ve seen a good deal of Trek in my time and I’m enough of a fan to see the latest movie in the theater, but I have spent less time actually watching Voyager than I have playing this game.I’ve got the following praise for this game: This is better than the few episodes of the show that I’ve actually seen. This game, while not consistently as good as, does have moments where it is at the level of Half-Life and Jedi Knight in terms of being a stellar example of just what a first-person shooter can be. If only more FPS’s had this level of voice acting, AI, story depth, and animation, we’d all be happier gamers, even if we’re not Trekkies. There’s some great moments of atmosphere here along with some really choice rounds of top-quality blasting to be had, and isn’t that what it’s all about? Somebody obviously understood this and the game seems to have a great balance between assets and problems– you’re usually not so flush with firepower that you can lay waste to the landscape at will, nor are you so dry that you’re constantly hurting for health or …, and the enemies coming at you are proportional.Furthermore, and here’s where you’ll really hate me, I think this game is the game that Quake 3 should have been at a minimum. I mean, you’ve got an actu.

This 1st-person-shooter game has you taking on the role of Alexander Munro (or the lovely Alexandra) an ensign aboard Star Trek�s USS Voyager. When Voyager was catapulted into a distant corner of the galaxy � far beyond any hope of reinforcements � Tuvok, the ship�s executive officer, formed the Hazard Team, an elite corps of Starfleet commandos capable of facing any threat. Armed with a variety of weapons and trained to operate equipment on any alien starship, the team stands ready against whatever the Delta Quadrant can throw at it. Unfortunately, Munro is a bit too impulsive (as s/he proves at the end of the first level), and stands to be kicked off the team. Instead, fate intervenes and the team is forced to take Munro along when the ship is snared by an alien ship and brought through an �iso-dimensional� rift into a vast graveyard of other alien ships. With Voyager too severely damaged and drained of power to escape, the Hazard Team is pressed into duty – boarding other ships in a desperate attempt to learn the secret of the aliens that hijacked their ship, and to find the means to escape. The game relies on both alien races both familiar (Klingon, Malon, Hirogen and Borg) and new. The levels aren�t too long or complicated, and a tight storyline beautifully keeps the game running. Between the missions is a mix of cut-scenes (using the game engine, ala JK2) and interactive scenes in which you prowl the halls and lounges of the Voyager and mingle with its crew.Ther.

This is certainly one of my favorite 1st person shooter games and since I’m a fan of the show it makes all the more interesting. The graphics are of course out dated but still very detailed and interactive. I’d love to see more of this quality game.

Whether you are a Star Trek fan, you’ll enjoy this game, but what really impressed me about it were the details, and these will be lost on you if you are not a die-hard fan of Star Trek (e.g., you not only know there was an animated series after the original 80 episodes were aired, but you watched every one of them!). When you get on the Scavanger ship, you are actually seeing the ship from the original show, and they got everything right (red steel mesh, the funky 3-d chess board, the uniforms, etc.). The Dreadnaught ship is more or less right out of the episode the Doomsday Machine, aired back in ’67. And the whole plot of the Etherians is very much a Star Trek device.Don’t get me wrong — there’s more than just nostalgia in this game. It is full of heart-pumping action, and there are also some very clever visual puzzles. I did not love the final section of the game, when it fell into a rather derivative “kill all until you find the boss” repetitive loop, but hey, how else could it end? It’s a great game. Oh, and the holodeck matches spliced in between the missions are top notch. Really, this is a fantastic game, worthy every penny, worth every minute of your time.

Imagine, if you will the perfect Star Trek game. Beautiful cut scenes seamlessly integrated between pulse racing action scenes, faithful ship recreation, crafty puzzles and interactive environments. The list goes on. *This* is the Trek game everyone’s been waiting for!This game is a dream! In single player mode, it really is like playing the TV show. Whereas only a couple of Star Trek games in the past have come up to this standard (e.g. Armada) most like Klingon Honour Guard have falled slightly short of the mark. The gameplay is Identical to Half Life / Quake 2 etc. The use of the Quake 3 engine fully recreates the starship Voyager’s decks in stunning detail. The sound effects are also lifted straight from the show and most of the actors it seems have contributed their voices to their 3D counterparts. The icing on the cake is the cut scenes linking your character of Ensign Monroe into the story line and the command chain.Quake 3 style weaponry? You bet! From the simple phaser to the anti Borg gun, these pack a real punch! Raven have done a great job!If you like Quake, Half Life and Star Trek: Voyager you have no reason not to order this NOW! :)

I can’t take Star Trek. I used to love it, but I try to watch it now, and…no. Can’t do it. I liked the original series, and Next Generation was pretty good for a while, but after Roddenberry died, everything fell apart. Deep Space Nine is just a badly disguised clone of Babylon 5. Voyager was boring, uninspired, repetitive, and flatter than a piece of paper. It should’ve been cancelled years ago. Enterprise? Please. Even the UPN executives couldn’t keep that thing going.So, why am I here, giving a Star Trek game a good review? Simple; because it’s everything the shows and movies stopped being a long time ago:It’s exciting. It’s thrilling. It’s challenging. It makes you think. The people in it are actual PEOPLE, not a bunch of cardboard cutouts in black pajamas and weird makeup trying to advance the useless plot. And above all, you never ONCE hear anyone say anything remotely like “Modify the subspace harmonic phase variance yada yada yada…” If I never hear that weak plot device crap again, it’ll be too soon. Not only that, it has things and concepts in it that not only make you think, “Yeah, they SHOULD have something like that,” it’ll also make you say, “Why didn’t they EVER have that?”The idea behind the game is this. Since Voyager (grr…)is on the far side of the galaxy, far away from any backup, Janeway and Tuvok develop a new kind of away team. This new unit, called the Hazard Team, is made up of special forces crewmen assembled to take on challen.

My dad got this free with a computer part he ordered and he gave it to me. That was a year ago and I still love playing it. I’ve won the game but still play it. I never do that. The first time you play it it’s hard but you die and start over till you know what to do and how to win. The hardest parts I think is when you fight the hunter and when you fight the giant slug thing. I buy a lot of games and most of them are aweful, but this is great. This is the best startrek game ever.
